Phew, now I have got my outfit for Grandson's wedding. Was going to wait until next week and look in Plymouth but just come back from Gloucester Quays where there was a food festival on that was excellent.

And, even better, I got my wedding outfit, got it in Klass in the outlet centre. originally would have cost £80 altogether but cost me £41. Dress and jacket (not a pair but part of the same collection so the colours match). Dress is a floaty one with wide straps, about shin length on me (5 ft 2+), white background, lilac and pink floral (faint) design. Jacket is cerise.OH has a light grey suit with a purple tie and white shirt. Just have to see if I need new shoes now and a bag. Nothing on my head.

So that is a relief.

I have a month yet but have a weeks holiday and a couple of weekends away so did want to get it sorted. Thanks Sylvia

Suzanne, looks like your daughter just might have some good weather for her wedding as the weather is set to change away from the awful constant rain. I do hope so and that she and you have a wonderful day. :-)

I hate hats!! I have a large skull - not a BIG head :-D It's a big skull to hold the big brain hahaha

Was bridesmaid years ago, had to wear a big picture hat. Had to have the hat stretched, then held it on with hatpins. I had a headache for three days lol No, the hatpins were not stuck into my head :-D

The hire shop sounds like a very good idea.

Don't have your outfit, hat, shoes & bag all matching or you'll look like the queen :-)

Yep...

You have to get a mental picture of the whole thing together,,,,,,what I found was,,,,,,,,,hats,,,,,,,no no no......but when I took the outfit to the hat shop and tried the whole lot together it worked magic, a fasinator just didnt gel with the outfit........and they did the bag to match. plus some bits of matching jewellery accessories.

I stressed for an evening outfit, but did my girl proud.

I reckon I'd be stressed, but if dau thinks you look good, surely that's what matters.
Think of it now as having two choices !!
You have to feel comfort but smart to suit the occasion.

What do you have now Suzanne ?...Not Guns and Roses get up I hope ;-)

Well, what a relief, I was so afraid the mother of the bride would be wearing the nothing that she had to wear! Wouldnt that have been breathtaking?

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 6 Aug 2012 20:21

Well its all over now,my outfit was admired by lots of people.

weather was the best we had had for months and the bride looked stunning.

on the downside.my 2yr old granddaughter never stopped crying through the whole service and a 3yr old had a bad convulsion in the garden of the hotel before the wedding breakfast (shes fine now)

the evening was great until my sister kicked off and caused a scene,
but overall it was a great day.x :-D
