Celebrations at the weekend in London

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are okay.

So far, this week, there has been the start of the Chinese New Year, Burns Night and Australia Day.

A lot of the celebrations are being held at the weekend.

With the start of the Chinese new year, Lion Dances pass through the streets to bring good luck to the households and businesses they visit. The drums, gongs and cymbals that accompany the Lion Dance are used to scare away evil and bad luck.

Traditionally, London Chinese New Year celebrations are on the first Sunday after new year's day.

On Sunday 29 January, the parade begins at 10-15am, setting off
from Trafalgar Square, and returning there about 12-00.

There will be free entertainment until 6-00pm.

Chinatown will be specially decorated and there are cultural stalls, food and lion dance displays.

If you are going to an event to celebrate any festivals/special days
or even going to the FA Cup football (!), travel safely and wrap up warm.

Take gentle care, folks.
Very best wishes
Elizabeth
