Yeo Bevan

I have been researching my Family BEVAN history, my grandfather was William George Yeo Bevan born in Bristol in 1887.
Apparently the Yeo was added to the family name from his generation onwards. He had a brother Frederick.

I am intrigued to know why and how the "Yeo" was added but cannot find any information- another case of wishing questions ahd been asked when ancestors were alive.
anyone know any information would be great
