Persie ........... that photo is my mother and her mother, about 1930, Scarborough, on the Yorkshire coast.

My mother was a very fashionable lady, right up to the day she died in 1961!

Ah well Moonbi, my Ist daughter is in agreement with your 2nd son as is my OH. I still think that it was a good theory though :-)

The sun has just come out here (London) so I think I'd better go and hang the washing out =I

my 2nd son doesn't think that at all. he thinks the US doesnt give a stuff about anything British.

and so I had to think again. maybe he is right. all young men are right.

very cold overcast and horrible looking here today, fire blazing.
guess what Sylvia and Marie I had g'son home from school yesterday with a headcold and cough. touch wood I dont get it.

ps I like the new gr look though some of my links are very slow to change. and the new posts icon doesnt seem to change after I read things. not like it used to anyway.
the only way I can tell if anyone else has added is to see if my name is not the one last posted.

Going back to what you posted on the 2nd Moonbi, I thought that was rather fortunate to say the least.

I wonder what the British Press would have done if both things had happened on the same day :O

The board is certainly moving faster isn't it since they amalgamated the two.

Check Mate, game set and match to GR for finally doing it. I know it would be well over a year since I put in a request for it to be separate and I am sure others have done so as well.

I think setting up the Quizzes and Games board was a REALLY good move!

Going back to the original question again......I think since GR changed its site,...that some of the heart has come back.....mind you I haven't been around for a while lol There seems to be a lot more chat (and dare I say it less games interrupting the chat lol)

I think I'm on the upswing finally!

chest still congested, so I cna't sleep flat ...... but it may be easier to get comfortable without OH in the bed!


I had the longest spell of sleep last night that I've had since last Tuesday ......... almost 4 hours!



Have you tried putting your ehad over a bowl of boiling water and inhaling the steam. Even add somthing like Vicks Vaporub (or ??? eucalyptus oil) to the water.


That's helped me.


Do hope you are OK for the tutoring tomorrow!

Hello to you all, I have just crawled in , have had a virus of some sort I didn't feel too bad yesterday but a little under the weather now .

Sylvia are you feeling any better I still seem to have a tempt. and I must have swalloed a lot of mucas last night felt very yukky earlier.
I am off to have a warm shower and hopefully a little lunch.
I have to be better to-morrow as I start Tutoring a group of singers.

How is the weather were you live Moonbi

I can understand you not going away with oh.
when youre not well you probably wouldnt enjoy the visit and just wish to be home.
better not to spread germs to your very close friends either.
can you visit again when you are well?

I've got 2+ day "me" time ............. OH has had to go to a meeting. I was going to go with him, but this horrible codl and cough made me very unwilling to go away. Unofrtunately, that means I miss seeing oru very close friends :((


but I'm still not much good for anyone!
