Yes it is hard memories creep in at odd moments but I will get there.
Hope the traffic is not too bad tomorrow.
Well done Mel putting us all to shame cleaning windows.

Iv'e cleaned the little loo windows and one of the bedroom ones, hoovered the bedroom and kitchen and diner and cleaned the glass in the door to the lounge. Hung up lots of clothes and put ironing away.
Hav'nt I been a good girl?
Did a little bit of painting too of miniature keys and a padlock.

What colour Begonias will they be AnnG? I want to get some this year as they seem to cope with the dry conditions we may get again. I can only imagine how sad it must be to remember your loved one's funeral, so it was a good idea to keep your mind busy and have a chat at the garden centre. It was 5 years yesterday since my sister passed away and things still pop into my head that I think I could ask her. and then I remember I can't.
What a shame Jake can't come tomorrow. It must be hard to keep a wound clean in his work but hopefully the antibiotics will soon work.
OH said some roadworks caused queues and chaos on his trip into the city this morning and it is the way we need to go tomorrow when I drive him to the hospital dental department for a clean. He'd have gone in his own car, but had seen the long queue at the carpark when he went to the eye hospital.

Had a nice chat round the local garden centre, had some points to spend on my loyalty card so bought three begonia corms to go in in April. At least the optician and a chat with a friend has more or less taken my mind off the date. 3 years ago today was Tony's funeral (I still have trouble writing that). A pity the weather was not like today it was damp and bitterly cold whereas today it is 8 degrees and full sun and blue skies.
Just heard Jake can't come tomorrow to do the garden, he is incapacitated for a couple of weeks now as his hand is infected. Silly man should not have been working with garden soil, I think it has got in the plaster. He is on antibiotics and painkillers so I have to wait until he is better now. Not really a problem as it was just small jobs they were going to do.

Afternoon All,
We had a frost here but it was just pretty fern patterns on the boot by the time I went out in the welcome sunshine. Doesn't it make you feel better! OH had already left for a meeting in the city.
I was thinking the same as Vera about us all supporting the Opticians and I see it's Gwyn's turn tomorrow, so good luck you don't need new glasses Gwyn! I see you got a 'Pass Go' card this time AnnG, so don't need any either which good. I got mine adjusted this morning and I think they are ok now.
What kind of cakes are defrosted Vera? Pity we don't all live closer and help you eat some. :-D I was wondering what kind of cake Mandy had for her birthday........chocolate?? The only HW I have done today was wipe out the oven ash after it cleaned itself yesterday and wipe out the microwave. I did a salmon tray bake for when OH got home but nothing since.
I think the filter on my stick hoover needs cleaning too Mel so that's another job you've reminded me of! lol :-D
Those padlocks do rust don't they Mandy. I had a reminder about putting the special oil on our new front door lock the other day. I know I bought some, but can I find it! I thought I'd put it in the bottom of a tall cupboard near the door so it was handy, unless OH has had a tidy up in there?

Just going to have something to eat and I may do some windows. Hazel is comking at some time this afternoon as she said she has something for me. I hope its a card for Wednesday. I did get another card this morning so now have 4 sitting on the side.

Ooh Vera some of us have no cake at all please send a food parcel :-D
No change with my eyesight which is pretty good after 20 months. So no new glasses at the moment. I am happy with the ones I have. If I feel like a change later I can still get them.
Friend coming round later so might pop out to the garden centre.

Good afternoon all
It was frosty, cold and dull first thing but the sun came out an hour or so ago and now it's 8 degrees. I've done all the clothes washing and the towels are in the machine now so just the bedding to do and that can wait till tomorrow.
I reckon between us all we are keeping the optical industry afloat. We've all been getting new glasses. OH has his annual eye test next Monday so that will probably mean 2 new pairs of glasses on top of the 3 pairs that I have recently had to pay for. At this rate there won't be much of an inheritance left for the kids, lol.
I'm not sure what I am going to do this afternoon. There is always plenty of h/w but I'm not in the mood for cleaning. I have had a general tidy up, changed both beds and done a lot of washing so I haven't been idle all day.
I'm off to the chiropodists in the morning so that's goodbye to another £39 but it's worth it.
I can hear OH making noises in the kitchen so I expect he is getting lunch. I'll just go and check on him as he is a bit prone to use anything he sees in the fridge without checking whether I'm planning to use it for anything else. He is also forgetful at times. Yesterday he forgot I had made a large fruit cake and took another big cake out of the freezer. It had defrosted before I realised so we now have 2 cakes to eat up before they go stale. Better go and see what he is up to.

Morning all , Bright sunny morning bit of cloud but its lovely to see ths sun ,had a good clear out of old shopping recipts and lots of old papers so they can be burnt on the fire ,need to hoover next but just having a coffee first . The key in the padlock on the woodshed wouldn't turn this morning so Colin had to cut the padlock off with his grinder so we need a new padlock ,I think the water had rusted it up .

Morning all,
Beautiful morning with plenty of sunshine and blue sky although there are some huge whitye clouds on the horizon. The deer are sitting in the sun in the garden warming themselves and its 4 degrees out there now. The car is still frosted so we did have one last night.
Need to get myself into gear and get on today.

Good morning everyone. A lovely bright and sunny morning here, although rather chilly ..4 degrees. It is going to get milder, but wetter as the week moves on.
Opticians for me tomorrow. I really hope there is no change, as although my eye test was about a year ago, I didn't actually buy new glasses..and sunglasses ...until later, when my daughters were able to come with me to give their opinions. The glasses I wear daily, but the sunglasses have only had a few outings.

BIL did'nt come today as he has had to put his car in the garage to have something done before its MOT. He has ordered me more fast pellets as my birds are gong through them like wildfire. I fill the feeders twice a day and they eat it all.
No we did'nt get anything for second place he did say that the two top tables only had four people on them but after saying David's table had won he did'nt bother to say we were second. David is the man who renewed my decking for me, he's the local builder and his wife makes soap and sells it on Ebay. She has a job so only in her spare time.
Its good you had a nice lot of pressies Mandy and birthday cake too with coffee sounds lovely.
Your really ahead with your garden weeding Anng. Yes I noticed it still being light at 5.30pm too. We've had a nice sunny day with showers and its felt cold out.

I did manage another 45 minutes so most of the garden has been weeded. Still some visible but that is in the border adjacent to the new gravel area and there is some cement overflow that needs tidying up before I can get the weeds out so I have to ask Jake when I can do it. Very tired now so no more gardening today.

Well that's the big meal of the day done! We just had a puff pastry topped chicken and bacon pie between us today with leeks, green beans, cauli and cabbage. The washer is on and when OH has washed the bits that don't go in the dishwasher I'll set the oven to clean itself. OH has a busy week so I think I need to catch up with some HW while he is out as I will get it done quicker then and it won't seem such a chore hopefully.
That was good coming second in the quiz Mel and a nice change of scene for a few hours. I hope your BIL's knee improves with the rest today.
Vera you do well with your cuttings. I think all but maybe 2 of my geraniums have had it, but I will leave them for now in case some new shoots appear. Isn't it annoying when yiou want to do things but our bodies make it wise to stop. We haven't touched our garden this year yet.
A bill to pay next and some paperwork to sort. Doesn't it pile up quickly!

I had already deleted the link Vera before I read your post so back to normal now. Ann My bricks were obviously from what I found, not Bayco, they were Lotts and looking on line, if I had some in original box they would be worth something. Gwyn that sounds as if we both had the same set. Wonder if that was a local firm at the time to us?
I have done two lots of gardening adding up to over an hour but came in to rest and will now get lunch, it looks like it is going to rain, if it doesn't I will go back out again. It is hard work weeding as the soil is claggy but I have cleared quite a lot on my what is now, worst border.

I think the only way to get back to normal sizing now is for AnnG to remove that link. I know that you can shorten long links by using tinyURL but I’ve never tried it so don’t know how it works.
It’s lovely weather at the moment and quite warm. I did 30 minutes in the garden tidying up my big pots of agapanthus and topping up the compost. I’m letting them get a bit of air and sun at the moment then I’ll cover them with fleece again. After that I individually potted up my geranium cuttings. When I took the cuttings I popped 3 or 4 in each pot and I thought they could do with a bit more room. I took 8 cuttings of our yellow argyranthemum and 7 rooted and are doing well. My problem is to stop them growing too leggy. I would have liked to stay in the garden but by then my back was quite painful again so I came in.
While we are talking plants the white trunked trees at Anglesey Abbey ARE silver birches. They are very much a feature, only some showing in the photo I sent. Their trunks are given a good wash from time to time (once a year?) and they look sensational in December when the plants are all lit up for Christmas.
I’ve nothing else planned for today, apart from cooking our roast dinner. Loin of pork is in the oven so I’d better get the roast potatoes parboiled.
EDIT I see you are ahead of meAnnG and have removed the link already.

Afternoon All,
<3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY! <3 <3 I hope you have a nice day with some goodies to eat. :-)
Your Bayco set in the link looks very similar AnnG so perhaps the one I played with was stone too, unless the one Gwyn played with with a friend was plastic?
Lunch has dinged so I'd better go.
