Had an e.mail from Deborah, she sends her love and asked me to say hi to everyone, she is very busy with Thomas, who is on school holidays and they are off to Mexico for a holiday soon, she said she will hopefully get back on when Thomas is back at school.

Does anyone remember the Coronation on TV?! My father was a Radio Ham and made our first TV in about 1950. The first programme that I watched was Ice Skating from Crystal Palace (I think) all I can really remember was that the picture was very fuzzy, like a snowstorm, and the sound pretty faint, but we were all fascinated by it!! By the time of the Coronation things had improved dramatically, and family and friends were glued to it all day!!! I got soooo bored that I went outside and played ball against the side of the house. In the evening we went up to the bun throwing from the top of the Town Hall, and after that an Ox was roasted whole in the market place, and we all had to queue up to get a piece between two bits of bread. I also remember that it was a cold, wet and blustry day (June!!) I also remember Muffin the Mule, I even remember the song!! mind you it was pretty simple!!

Thanks for your photo Sheila , its nice to put a face to a name ,you wouldn't want the pool at the moment its got a bit chilly ,got to wait for some more hot weather to warm it up ,hubby's hoping to add a Solar Panel next year so it will heat the water quicker .

Well my boy Toby has gone in for his op , i will be on edge all day now ,its at times like this that if i smoked i'd have got through several packets i think so will have cups of coffee instead .
He went off with the nurse ok ,he looked back as if to say don't leave me here !
We've got to ring at two thirty to see how things are ,so off now to keep busy

Morning All,

Dull and dreary here at the moment. OH is putting up new fence panels which we went and bought yesterday.

We also bought another large Koi as mum wanted one. I picked it and this morning the two of them are having hanky panky in the pond!!!! She is lovely and I shall try to take a pic of her. Mum has called her Henrietta and he is Big Harry I think. OH says we can't save the eggs as it's too late in the season and they need very green water that has loads of live food in it which we don't have!!! Shame as mum would be so pleased to think she had baby fish from a fish bought yesterday.

I had a lot of running around to do yesterday with the library and getting chicken food and bits and pieces for mum and OH and then getting back to take mum to the docs at 4.45pm. There is nothing they can do for her as she won't go into hospital again for some tests, she says she has had enough and I don't blame her. I think they think another cancer has come back!!

Thinking of Toby and Ralph today with many thoughts for both.......................................................

Had plenty of rain yesterday, and it looks like more today. I can't beleive Jane hasn't had any. She's only 20 miles from me.!!!!

Not only the Coronation, What about the FA cup. Boat race Ice hockey.(they used to sweep the ice in time with the music) We would have all the kids sitting on the floor. Adults in chairs, then more sitting on the Table. Picture quality very poor, but we had no option, but to watch it. But it was a game of Football. that you couldn't go and see live, because it just wasn't available to the mass's unless you could afford it.and we couldn't.

You will have soooo many fish sooon Mel, They are a treat to sit and watch. Our pond is quite green at the moment, but they say that's good. They seem to be happy enough.

Mel, I was 10, so you can work out from that my great age!!!

Afternoon all
raining and quite chilly today. not been around for a while because OH has been fiddling with the computer and didn't want me messing up what he had done AS IF!!!!!
We went to look at new computers yesterday , boy are there some expensive ones , I couldn't make head or tail of some of the descriptions on them. OH backed up all my folders and transferred my photo's (have dozens of them) on to a memory stick as he thought the computer was overloaded and that is why it is running so slow. it seems to have forgotten how to do memory restore. so OH is thinking of getting someone in to have a look at it before he makes a decision whether to buy a new one. we have had it for 8 years now so it is feeling old .

Was at a funeral this morning ,one of the ladies I meet up every month for dinner she belongs to my church, her father past away last Tuesday he was in his 70's and had been in a nursing home for a number of years. went to the church service but not the crematorium as I have a 6 months review meeting at my dad's care home this afternoon so I didn't think I had enough time to get back in time for lunch and get changed.
