Berona, my eyes are actually two different shades of blue.

The cats have their favourite chairs, or in the case of the one pictured, sofa.

lol Allan.

I had a white cat once, with one blue and one orange eye.
She was a lovely long haired cat with a tiny black dot on her head,
Sadly she got hit by a car while her 3 kittens were a couple of weeks old.
They all survived one was deaf.

Marion, my daughter had a white cat with two different coloured eyes, who suffered the same fate.

He was the scourge of the local bird population who abandonded our garden.

After his passing the birds all came back :-)

I lost a few to cars.

This one i have now is a 'house cat' Family laugh at me as she is insured and has a micro chip.
Well,she might run outside lol

Allan

Allan Report 8 Jan 2012 12:18

Marion, both our cats are microchipped and desexed.

WA has just passed a law to say that from 2013 all domestic cats must be registered, desexed and registered. I fully agree with this move :-)

Jean (Monmouth) Report 8 Jan 2012 15:23

Much as i love cats, i wont tolerate them on the worktops in the kitchen. they can have the bed or any chair they want, but no the worktop. feral Sweetie was guilty and had to spend the night out, i didnt appreciate washing the tops down at two in the morning!
Have often wished we were able to have the offspring of one of our neutered animals, but it is for the best, there are so many homeless animals out there.
Still would like to see a pet for the children in H&A. When is it back, i thought it was this week, but see not so.

Berona Report 8 Jan 2012 22:20

My old girl is microchipped and registered with our local Council. Such was the ruling of which we were notified when we received our yearly Rates notices. That was 11 years ago, but I haven't seen any notices about it since then. I don't think a lot of people know about it, so I don't think it is policed.

Never had a white cat but I have heard that it is common for them to have different coloured or blue eyes.

MEgirl Report 9 Jan 2012 05:24

My girls are registered, microchipped and desexed and both live inside. I think that law came in during 1999 within our council area. The Siamese across the road is always killing birds and native animals in our reserve. I should be reporting it, but the owners are elderly and love the cat. Maybe a quiet word would do the trick.

I wouldn't want any of the H & A bods to have pets, no way!!!!!

Barbra Report 9 Jan 2012 21:49

Have the cats got little bells on their collar`s the birds would hear them? they are not expensive. think its back next Monday .H&A hope so :-( ~~~~~ :-D

Berona

Berona Report 9 Jan 2012 22:48

My little lady had two bells, and although they helped, didn't always work - giving me a hard time intervening. It's a phase which lasts a few years and it is their nature - until they slow down. It helps to keep them indoors at night until the sun is well up, the birds have finished eating and back in the trees.

Thankfully, mine is too old to chase now. If she scores a field mouse, it gets away from her. Instead of intervening these days, I have to put up with the noisy miners screaching their heads off, warning each other, when they see her lying out in the courtyard. Even the cat gets annoyed with them and comes inside!
