Ever since the 'progress' to digital and HD, we have had nothing but rubbish on all of the chanels. I find that I'm spending more time reading or using the computer.

Agree, berona, we have Sky and nearly every channel is repeats or rubbish, nothing to hold the interest. We also have a Freesat set, freeview not being available here in this area, but not a lot different. Flog it is at least different most times!

We have Sky and Pay TV. I gave the two main Pay TV providors a few years each and then cancelled them. The rubbish was as bad as the Free To Air are putting on now.

I'm not being biased when I say the Australian productions have improved greatly, as has the acting, but as yet, good productions and good actors are still in short supply. I still like the UK productions but the US ones seem to be repeating themselves. Our commercial chanels are constantly competing with each other - at present they are using chefs from everywhere; treating them like little gods and not only using them in cooking programs, but also as judges in competitions and even as 'stars' in Dancing with the Stars. FGS!!they'e chefs! Let them cook!

Totally sick and tired of Chef shows, talent shows and the like. I do like the medical programmes, highway and border patrol type shows. Current affairs shows are a joke, as you said Berona just competing with each other.

Would have to say I am totally disappointed with content and have been for years. I like a good movie, but mostly I spend my time on the family tree, Facebook or emails and my threads on here.

Beautiful day here, sunny with blue skies. 2.17 pm EST

We still have Judge Judy and I used to watch it until I read that it is scripted and rehearsed ('based on' actual cases) and the 'real people' are actors. I lost interest after that. It also became repetitive - girl invites boy-friend to move in, then claims for unpaid rent and loans when he moves out after finding a new love.

Beautiful day here too. Daytime temperatures way above normal. Pity the night time temps are so normal, although last night and tonight are up to 7c - better than a few nights ago - 3 degrees! While the sun is out, we can't complain about our winter. I just hope it doesn't take a sudden turn for the worse - which is quite likely to happen.

We had Big Brother for eight seasons. It started out good, but as time wore on, the producers didn't think it was 'raunchy' enough and began having the film spliced to show things which didn't really happen. As the evicted contestants kept saying "it didn't happen like that!", it became obvious that we weren't seeing the real thing. Also, their choice of contestants became very 'rough' - some of them there merely to 'shock' the viewer - where in actual fact, the viewer was more disgusted. The producers have only themselves to thank for the program's demise.

Darryl is in real trouble now. Literally caught with his pa*** d***........ - and by Charlie too.

Used to watch Judge Judy, but got sick of the same old cases. Bert was always good for a laugh.

Heath is gone - dead gone duck. Stupid fellow, should have listened to BIG BROTHER, lol. Still alive, just in big sh** Hope Casey sees sense very soon.

Not much on tonight. I will have to dig out an old DVD. The year is moving along so quickly. I can't believe August is already here :-S

Hi all.

I watched a few BB's.No doubt i will look in on the next one....much to OH disgust lol
So Darryl is up to no good??

Kim my brother in Auastralia used to watch the Bill, it was a fair bit behind us as was Eastenders. The Bill is finished now though,as been for a while.

Berona

Berona Report 2 Aug 2011 23:08

The Bill finished in Oz some time ago, but has now re-surfaced on one of the new commercial chanels - not quite from the beginning, but a few years back. It's nice to see Polly and Reg again. Don't like it going to commercials though - it was always on the ABC before - with no commercials.

On the same chanel, we are getting re-runs of Are You Being Served? and Keeping Up Appearances and a few other oldies. I still enjoy them even though I have seen them before.

I can always watch Hyacinth and Richard. She is my role model (lol), but she does remind me of my father's sister almost down to the last candlelight supper!!!

Darryl is perched.... just so at the moment. Heath has been caught with the goods. Charlie is torn in two - love hurts.

I always watched The Bill was sad to see it go. Dale Smith was my favourite, such a strong character and the other Sergeant, can't think of his name, but didn't always go by the books. Someone will remember his name for me, I'm sure.

Barbra

Barbra Report 3 Aug 2011 10:33

sergeants` in the bill . Stuart lamont..ie steve morley. ? is that him kim.loved the bill when it was on .& mrs bucket .classic TV..cried laughing at her antics. May to December.with Alex & zoe & miss Flood .thats another one repeated on sky the oldies are the best .hmm..take care all .Barbra ;-)

Berona

Berona Report 3 Aug 2011 12:57

Boo-kay.....Boo-kay!....not Bucket!
I always laugh at the way she grabs their cups away from them before they are finished - or takes Richard's newspaper away while he is reading it.

Which sergeant in the Bill? Sgt. Cryer (retired)? or Matthew? and yes, Dale Smith was always nice.

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 3 Aug 2011 14:43

I am thinking of Callum Stone. He and Smithy were always facing off, but they were there for one another at the very end. I liked Marm too!!!!

So many of them over the years, John Bolton was another I liked too.

Off to bed, night night. 11.41 pm EST
