Berona Report 10 May 2013 01:24

So....our Brax has landed himself a role in the Hollywood movie, Hercules, and is about to leave us to try his luck in the U.S. . I wish him luck, but hope that he comes back to us when the movie is finished. He says he will, but we can't blame him if he gets a better offer to stay. Looks like he might be contracted to Ch 7 for a while, as he thanked them for allowing him to go. However, when that runs out - who knows?
My grand-daughter tells me that Charlie is coming back - apparently been in Witness Protection to catch the man who shot her. Don't know if this is true or if someone is guessing.

Hey!! Am I talking to myself here?

Hi all.
Sorry Berona not been on here lately.
How are you?

I didnt realise Adam wasnt dead, mmmm :-S.
Poor Brax if charlie does come back, unless he knows she not dead too.
We are at Casey went away in the company car and locked the keys in.Indi was not amused and sacked him.

Berona Report 14 May 2013 23:52

Hello Marion. Hope you are well. Haven't heard from Kim lately. I hope all is well with her.
KIM !! Let us know how you are.

We didn't know that Adam didn't die on the road either. He is still limping and seems to be planning revenge on the Braxtons. His sister is doing whatever he tells her to do, but she is falling for Brax.

Now, if Charlie does come back - Brax will have some explaining to do. However, if he didn't know she wasn't dead, how will the writers explain the time he spent with her when she died? Remember? he sat beside her and wouldn't let anyone into the room at the hospital.
Anyway, it might not be real. We will have to wait and see. Poor Kyle is in trouble at the moment. He rushed away from the computer without logging off, and Adam's sister made a transfer of funds. That is the subject of the moment here.

Hi Berona and anyone else looking in.

Do we see Romeo again? or is that him out for good?

Berona

Berona Report 16 May 2013 00:27

Since my last posting, I have read that Charlie only comes back in a dream sequence. Someone on another site said she taped a few appearances and has since gone to USA. Let's see if this one is right.

No, I don't think we will see Romeo again. Indi seems to sack Casey often, but he is still there and she is gradually 'softening' since she met Chris. I believe that the actor who plays Dr.Walker has done his last taping and will be leaving our TVs soon too. I wonder who will pay the rent for the farm house? Didn't Martha leave it in Alf's hands, to be rented? They never give us the full details of these arrangements, do they? At the moment, Irene is supposed to be visiting Leah and VJ in Greece - don't know why she has dropped out of the show.

After more than 25 years of H&A showing at 7pm, Monday to Friday, the programs have been messed around lately, giving us only four night with a double episode on Thursdays, then a triple episode on Thursday of last week and now, this week only a single episode - and still nothing on Friday. I have had my say on their website, and so have many others. The chanel is too obsessed with upstaging their competitors to care what the viewers want - and many of us have voiced our opinions of it. Don't know if it will do any good.

Hello all, have had major computer problems still ongoing with it constantly switching itself off. Needs some attention not very old only 10 months. Some days are good and others well let's just say "Not happy Jan". Also my health issues and also trouble getting onto this site.

Lots happened since I last posted, still trying to work out the programming with now being down to 4 1/2 sessions per week. Thought of Brax leaving for a while fills me with sorrow. What will we girls do for 3-4 months??? :-( :-(

I wonder if Liam will be back? I'm assuming he's looking after Romeo somewhere until he dies. Or perhaps he's going to hosting some new show. Gina's passing was very sad and it was great to have Xavier back for a couple of days. He's matured as an actor too. Miss some of our old ones, not happy with the return of Adam, but I felt it was coming. Kyle still playing a good part, strong character and they could use him more and then we could have less of Spencer, Maddie, Chris and so on.

Hope everyone is well, I starting to feel the chill of the approaching winter. My right shoulder is frozen, so less movement as each day passes. If my typing gets a bit wonky you will understand why. Cheers everyone. xx

Berona Report 18 May 2013 07:53

Good to hear from you, Kim. Does your computer have a technical problem, or is it the setting? Mine is set to turn itself off if not used for 15 minutes. This is done through 'Control Panel'/'Power Options' - but I suppose you have already tried that.
I know how you feel about winter coming. My osteo plays up when I'm cold and particularly if rain is about. Doctors say that the weather has nothing to do with it - but they obviously don't have any kind of arthritis! Lots of sufferers I know think otherwise.

I've been having my say on the official site of H&A on Facebook - as have a lot of other people too, but Ch 7 is too busy trying to take ratings from it's rival chanels to worry about what the viewers think. I've also had a lot to say on the MKR site too - I was so disgusted with it this year. I didn't stop there, but also went to Ch 10's cooking programs and had my say there. This is what happens when they only show us rubbish and I can't be bothered looking in - so go onto my computer!
It seems that everyone is angry about the programming, not just me. We have all more or less told them to get their act together.

Couldn't find much on Liam - only that he seems to be more interested in a music career. I saw one item about him wanting to go for a bike ride then settle with a band when he gets back.

MEgirl Report 18 May 2013 11:22

Hi Berona, I think it is a technical problem. It switches on and off 6-7 times in a row. Then I get the Start-Up Repair which goes on for about half an hour. I might then have a good hour to try and send emails etc. and it will just switch off. So annoying. Some days it is good, so I don't know. Hubby will need to get it up to our repair man, I just hate using laptops too flat I need raised keys.

I thought it was Internet Explorer, but downloaded Chrome and it was still happening.

Berona Report 20 May 2013 11:26

Hello ladies. Still getting higher than usual temperatures here, but very cool nights. Last night was only 4c and yet, the daytime temp reached 20 and was nice without the wind. A few days ago, the temp was just as high, but westerly winds blowing down from the mountains, made us feel that it was colder than it really was. However, the temps are slowly dropping by 1 degree (I think it's just to trick us into thinking winter is not coming yet)!

John and Marilyn are being a bit silly with their advice to Jett about how to woo a girl. He's only supposed to be 13, and he takes a girl out to dinner at a restaurant! With the two of them watching him and Brax and Zac getting involved, it's a bit OTT, but it looks like John and Marilyn are spending a lot of time together. Romance???.

We are back to four nights a week now - with a double episode on Thursdays. Don't know why, but it still looks like the chanel gurus are desperate to out-do their rivals and are making a mess of their programming by what they are doing.

MarionfromScotland Report 21 May 2013 19:12

Hi.

Well thats Gina buried :-( was sad poor Jett.
And yes I know its only TV for those looking in lol.

I finally put the heating off,so that's it summer now lol.
Have a had a few good day's here and there. Not parting with the thick duvet yet though.

Our Casey is in real trouble now, thanks to Adam setting him up.
Ricky and Tamara should both be run out of town. Ricky is too devious and Tamara is one big trouble-maker. I feel that Tamara has been mis-cast in that she says all these grown-up things, and doesn't look a day over twelve years old. We see her serving drinks at the restaurant (for which she has to be 18), then we see her in her school uniform and she looks like she would be in year 7 or 8 - not 12!
I have to admit she is acting well, but wrongly cast in that role.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 24 May 2013 09:09

Hi Berona.

I seem to remember it being mentioned Tamara was 18.Dont know how long she missed school before she went back though.
Poor Casey,he alway's ends up in bother of some kind.

Must get moving I'm off out.

MEgirl Report 24 May 2013 11:22

Tamara has a big mouth and doesn't know when to keep her beak out of things. Well that's set everything into a downward spiral again. Why can't we have things on an even keel just for a while, but still have some excitement at the same time.

Still having trouble with the programming, an hour episode tonight, but nothing now on a Friday night. Really wet here today, but not as cold overnight. Yes Marion the shoulder is in the freezing state at the moment. Left shoulder was bad and took 3 years to recover, still not 100%. The pain in the right is over the top and I am doing very light exercises. Never thought I would get it both sides. :-(

Good luck with your check in July. I hope you don't need surgery.

Hubby bought me a new monitor, but computer is still switching off, just not as often. I plugged it into a different socket, but has not made any difference. Will have to go to computer doc I think.

I am really missing the Gina character. Just goes to show what a good role she was playing.

Watching a bit of the cricket test over there Marion, looks freezing with summer just around the corner. :-0

Take care all and have a happy and safe weekend.

Berona

Berona Report 25 May 2013 08:35

Nice to see you posting, Kim. I was wondering if all was OK with you. What caused the shoulder problem? My knees are giving me grief at the moment, now that the cold weather is settling in - and particularly when rain is hanging about - although it hasn't rained properly here yet. Inner Sydney has had it, but I'm 20 miles out and we have only had it sprinkling for a few moments, a few times and only once a fine shower, which looked more like a mist - and only for ten minutes. Just enough to make things uncomfortable, but not enough to even water the gardens. Of course, doctor says the weather has nothing to do with how we feel - but he obviously hasn't had any kind of arthritis or rheumatism - yet.

I have been looking in and posting on the Facebook site of Home and Away (and the cooking programs too) and there are a lot of angry people out there who are unhappy about the way in which the program times have been changed around. I still think it's because Ch 7 is panicking, trying to out-do their competition - to a point of making a mess of their programming times. I feel that we are seeing far too many reality shows - too many cooking programs and this latest one of renovating homes is such a farce - I don't think the contestants ever swing a hammer. They stand there amongst the mess, with a hammer in their hand, then I'm sure they move out of the way, and the real builders move in and do the job. The contestants then come back for the final filming. What a joke! As for the 'biggest loser', I feel sorry for those people who really have a problem with their weight, or they wouldn't be there - but they are used and abused into making fools of themselves for ratings. They should not be made to do some of the things they do, all in the name of losing weight - or ratings. They can't be expected to do the kind of exercise they do on screen, when they are finished the show. The two chanels 7 and 10 are constantly sniping at each other and overlapping times to catch the viewers......and we haven't even got to Big Brother on Ch 9 yet!!!
With nothing worth watching on TV, I am spending more time on my computer - hence the time to spend criticising them on their websites!

Persephone Report 26 May 2013 05:39

Regarding Biggest Loser, I have only watched the one series because of my family interest in it, when Ali Vincent won.. she is still exercising and runs weight loss programs and meets. Her mother my cousin Bette Sue was originally quite shocked when she went on the program to find that she still had to keep up the exercises when the cameras were not rolling. It was every day relentlessly and they just splice together the most controversial and interesting (I guess) bits.

Re Home and Away .. I will have to check it out am wondering if we still have it on here.. I think they used to play it during the day after it lost its initial burst onto the screens.

Are they combing their hair now?

Berona Report 26 May 2013 06:21

Ah, Persie! Nice to have you back on the boards and to see you on this thread too!
Didn't know you had watched Home and Away. I have been having my say (too much I suppose) on the websites - then found that my comments were showing up on the news feeds of my FB 'friends'. I didn't know that was going to happen! I have now changed settings - and no doubt made a mess of that too - but I'll keep working on it until I get it right (if ever).

What you say about the Biggest Loser doesn't surprise me. That weight had to come down, regardless of how they did it......The show must go on!...don't worry about what the contestants are going through.

As for combing the hair in H&A - I think you might be referring to Ruby. The hair was darkened and very slightly more combed when she left the show and the others have slowly begun to comb theirs more than they did a couple of years ago.
I'll check on the website to see if it is showing in NZ. Seems to be showing in many other countries, so it possibly is on in NZ. I know My Kitchen Rules has just finished in NZ. I have been on that website too. It's all a matter of us having nothing but rubbish to look at here - so I prefer to use my computer to criticize them than sit there watching what they are dishing up to us.

Editted - Perse - 5.30 weeknights on chanel 3.

Persephone

Persephone Report 26 May 2013 09:22

Allan and I would post on this thread Berona but we were never very complimentary about Home and Away... 5.30pm is not my TV time. A friend of mine tapes it to DVD and then watches a weeks worth when the children are asleep.

I used to watch it a long time ago, that and Neighbours but they went on and on..so I long ago gave them up and it's only himself who watches Coro now. I would rather read.

Edit: I like the great British Bake Off.. must be the only cooking program I watch now... used to watch Rick Stein when his little dog was alive and I watched Jamie on a couple of his travel food programmes. But am not a Master Chef fan.. did watch a couple of the NZ series but was not impressed with the way it was run.

Berona Report 26 May 2013 23:49

Allan has posted some weird and wonderful ideas of 'what's happening next' but haven't heard from him for quite a while. Some of his ideas were better than what the writers have given us. They go off into a subject which they know nothing about and don't do any research, or have an expert to advise them. I understand that this show runs in many countries, so they should get their facts right. Their use of formal English needs brushing up too.

I always tape H&A in case I am interrupted. I then delete it if I am able to watch in the evening. I don't watch much after that (7pm) so do a lot of recording - and watch the next afternoon - f/forwarding on the commercials.
Right now, the rubbish they serve up to us is an insult to our intelligence. I used to have cable TV - tried one for two years and another for four years, but everything on there was so old, I lost interest in it. Son had it connected and paid for it, but he wanted it for motor sport and when the providors lost the motor sport contracts, he had it disconnected. He would have left it on for me, but I wasn't fussed about it.

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 27 May 2013 12:15

I'm enjoying the Brax/Casey storyline, but the rest is just mushy rubbish. Just so boring. I've taken to reading the paper during some of the scenes.

Berona I don't know what has brought on the frozen shoulder. I didn't think I would ever have it again. I can get through the day, but when I wake up the pain is through the roof, takes me so long to get out of bed.

Rosie is really grating with her situation and now Spencer and Sasha have made a neat little threesome (so to speak). Now another nasty girl is on the scene. Waiting to see if Indi locates some record of Romeo, but looks like she will be asking her father for another loan. Poor Sid has an open cheque book.
