H&A is shown on our Chanel 7 each evening at 7pm and I'm chomping at the bit ......tonight's the night!
Ch 7's other cnanel 7-2 shows a full week's 'catchup' episodes at the weekend, for those who missed any during the week ... and yesterday, they showed all five episodes of the last series - running it as one long program without introductions or credits.

I was rapt in watching it. It showed me things I missed before and also Roo's wedding, her aunts (Morag, Celia & Colleen), right up to the last when Heath is bobbing about in the little boat. I didn't notice before that the boat has a hole in it!

I'm all set to go now!

Now, don't laugh. You won't believe this.....

Because chanel 7 has been devoted almost entirely to tennis tournaments over the past few weeks, I have been looking at other chanels. (I loved playing tennis when I was younger, but don't enjoy watching it on TV).

So.....I was watching other chanels last night......until I realised that I had forgotten to switch back to 7 to watch H&A!!! Now I won't know what happened until I see it on Saturday on the catchup!

I still can't believe that I missed it. Didn't record it either. However, I have now set it up once again to record Mon to Fri, so I won't miss any of it.

Marion - hope that bug goes away quickly.Take care.

Well, I didn't miss it last night. I don't think I missed much on Monday with what I've seen of the 'glimpses' we get before it starts. Then, last night, it was all about the 'bad boys'. We might have seen the last of Adam and his son - or have we?

I've not only set it to record Mon to Fri, but also to record the 'catchup' at the weekend!

Haven't seen it in a long time.
Did Don Fischer come back having married Pippa?

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 24 Jan 2013 06:02

Berona you can have Liam, I don't like all that growth. :-D Adam is rotten to the core, something really nasty planned as he doesn't walk away from a fight. I hope an innocent doesn't get hurt, but it could go that way.

Alf is having a ball with those ear plugs in. Morag and Colleen are enough to send a good man nutty.

Sorry you have been sick Marion, hope all is well now.

Berona Report 24 Jan 2013 06:02

Hello David. I can see you really mean it when you say you haven't seen it for a long time!
I have been watching for years and Pippa was gone before I started watching.
I have been watching a re-run from 1989/91 until November and it was stopped like a lot of other programs until the new year. However, the current version has started back, but no sign of the old version as yet. Pippa is in that, having been widowed and not long re-married just before it went off.

If you haven't seen it since Pippa was in it, you wouldn't know anyone except, perhaps Alf Stewart. Recently, his sisters, Colleen and Celia made a guest appearance, but they seem to have retired.

Oops! Didn't see you there Kim. I agree about the growth. I would have to insist on less growth. I like men clean-shaven. But then, I'm not fond of tatts either, and you can't shave them off.

David

David Report 24 Jan 2013 18:31

Has it been as long as that?
Used to like Pippa.

Didn't she lose a groaner called Mike in an accident?
I can rememember when poor Alf was suffering when his wife was poorly.
Am I right in saying she thought the fridge talked or sid I make that up?
Do they still have that Greek cook that usedf to be married to Vinny?

Berona Report 24 Jan 2013 20:58

David - I don't know any of those people. Other posters might be able to help you better than I can. The show began in 1987 and I watched it in the early years, but not consistently, because I thought the acting was terrible. I picked it up again a few years ago, but what happened in between, I don't know much about. There is a magazine out, celebrating 25 years, but it was out of stock when I tried to order it. I'll try again.

I only found the re-run on an off-shoot chanel connected to the chanel which shows the current version - but that was only about a year ago, so I recorded it each day and skimmed through it later to see if I knew any of the characters. However, when the current version went into recess in November, so did the re-run - but it hasn't returned as yet. I didn't follow it properly, but could see enough to know who was who and what was going on

Currently, Alf has kicked his three sisters out. They came for his daughter's wedding - and they fussed and argued too much. However, Celia might be back after all this time, for at least a little while, according to what I have read.

BTW - which Pippa do you mean? There was a change in actresses about 1990 - no explanation, just that she grew taller overnight!

MEgirl Report 25 Jan 2013 10:35

Leah is the Greek cook and she is currently out of the series with her son VJ to escape a looney named Jamie. Really she is on maternity leave after having her baby in real life.

Berona I don't like tatts either, but it's mainly the big ones. I don't mind little butterflies or flowers and the like.

Boring storyline tonight with those two new characters. It's far better when the Braxtons have the lead. Celia might prove a problem now Alf has let her move in. She hasn't changed at all. :-(

Berona

Berona Report 25 Jan 2013 21:46

Sorry, David. Didn't realise you meant Leah - the Greek cook. I gather she divorced Vinny, who later died. She then married one of the school teachers, who was sent to the US and was killed whilst over there. (The actor got a better offer, hosting a live show!).

I saw Don Fischer when I was watching the old series. He had no wife, but a foster daughter names Bobby. They went out of it long before I began watching the current series properly.

Yes, Kim. Rather a weak way of introducing the two young actors into the show.

Flat Head DF his pupils called him that was a likeablke character,so many story lines in which he was the key figure.
Interesting clash of persononalities with one of his female teachers, power struggle? One of her pupils,Irene's son had a crush on her.
Did she get shot?

Berona

Berona Report 26 Jan 2013 22:26

What part of the world are you in, David? A magazine was recently released to celebrate 25 years of H&A. It was out of stock when I tried to buy it, but my daughter is on the lookout for a copy for me. In the meantime, I will read up on what I can on the internet. Perhaps Kim, Marion or Barbra might be able to answer your question.

Marion and Barbra are snowbound, whilst Kim and I are trying to keep cool.

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 27 Jan 2013 06:15

I remember all Irene's children, so it would have been Damien who had the crush, but I can't remember back that far if anyone got shot. Donald Fischer was always good value and a good actor. He was married to Marilyn and they had a baby named Byron. The little boy died, but this is going back years.

Berona good to get some rain today and much cooler. My grass is burnt and the plants are looking worse for wear. Poor Queensland though with the floods again. :-(

Berona

Berona Report 27 Jan 2013 08:15

You were watching it before I started, Kim. I was trying to catch up when chanel 72 showed it from the beginning. Even then, I didn't find it until it was up to '89, but I followed it until November ( it was up to '91 then) - and they haven't brought it back yet! They are even using the time slot to give us a re-run of last night's episode. I didn't know that until Wednesday - too late - but I picked up Monday's episode this morning - and after all that, I didn't miss much!

Sydney has had rain to-day, but I'm not far from Parramatta. We had one light shower at 4.30am and a few sprinkles at 8.30 and that was it! It rarely rains where I am and we sure could do with it! The Queensland floods are bad again and have now moved into NSW with at least one death. With fires still burning in other parts of the state, I can't see us having much wildlife left after this. It upsets me to think of the animals trying to get away from the fires.

Berona

Berona Report 29 Jan 2013 06:00

At last! The 'early years' has started up again, so I will be able to see what happened then and watch for current actors.
I knew that Don and Marilyn married but have not seen it. At this stage, they are only casual acquaintences. I also knew that Marilyn had a son, Byron. If you look back at the beginning of this thread, Sally's twin brother, Myles, had lost his wife and daughter and he kept seeing the little girl when nobody else did. The girl brought a little boy with her at one time, and Marilyn could see him. It was Byron. Both children were older 'spirits' - the age that they would have been. I didn't know that Don was his father, though, so I'll be watching for that romance.

Think it blossomed as he was giving her after school education Berona.
But I only watched it because its what my wife had on.

Berona

Berona Report 29 Jan 2013 21:04

Really? That's what all the men say.

We often have a visit on this thread from Allan, who also doesn't watch it, but his wife does. He gives us some wonderful stories of what is going to happen next.

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 30 Jan 2013 10:56

I think Allan should be writing the script personally; would be a great improvement on the current lot. They leave out important details and don't research a subject very well. Situations appear from "nowhere" without explanation.

Celia's getting on my whatsits at the moment and loaded up with cash!!! Young Jet's got a crush, woo hoo, just want Indi and Romeo need. Trouble brewing for our Casey, not looking good.
