Weren't you up to the little funeral?

We keep getting clips of forthcoming episodes - but still no date given. These 'clips' used to be called 'trailers' in the cinemas, and usually flash on for about 30 seconds between other 'commercials'. Now, they are being included in the program lists and are being called 'sneak peeks'. They are still only flashes of what's on soon - so why do the TV chanels think we are stupid enough to believe we are getting something special?

Berona Report 7 Jan 2013 09:40

Woo-hoo!! Update! We start again on Monday 21st, so only two more weeks to go! Poor old Heath has been bobbing about in a fishing boat since the end of November but from the 'sneak peeks' we have seen - it's big brother Darryl to the rescue!!!

You will see a lot of Bianca for a while and believe it or not, Roo and Harvey do finally make it to the altar! That was where ours ended in November.

Hi Berona and all.
We started on mon again.
Looks like Bianca is on a 'bad road'.
Nice to see Romeo and Indi getting all loved up again.

I hope none of you are near the fires it look's bad.

Berona Report 8 Jan 2013 22:45

Thanks for your concern, Marion. No problem where I live. I'm in the western part of Sydney, 20 miles from the Harbour, but still very much part of the City. Although a helicopter pilot saw three schoolboys setting three different fires in a suburb not far from here, where there is a little bit of bushland - close to homes. Fotunately, the fires were put out before they reached homes and the little blighters were caught!
Most of the fires are started by heat, combustible eucalyptus leaves, dry leaves and grass, lightning, electricity sparks, glass, etc. and as if that isn't bad enough, it makes us very angry when some lunatic starts them deliberately. There are 140 fires burning at the moment in New South Wales alone. Tasmania has been burning because of temperatures previously unknown for down there - they are so far south.
Our volunteer fire fighters risk their lives to fight the fires. We don't need them to take more risks than necessary. They are a very revered breed of people.

I've probably mentioned on here before, but, when I was in Australia 10yr ago,on our travels we passed a lot of places where the fires had been.
I think it was Canberra we passed some house that were burnt out and others in the same area were ok.I expect it was to do with the wind.

Berona Report 9 Jan 2013 06:27

Yes, the wind picked up yesterday and caused more fires. Victoria is now getting their turn and homes have been lost. Still many people in Tasmania not accounted for so police are searching burnt-out homes. About 30 of the 140 fires in NSW are burning out of control, but hopefully they don't threaten people or property.
Our wildlife suffers badly and it is estimated that so far, at least 20,000 sheep and cattle have perished .Now, the fires are starting up in Queensland. They have hardly had time to get over their flooding!
Haven't heard from Kim. She lives on the Central Coast of NSW and I know there are fires there too. I hope all is well with her.
I am about half way between Sydney City and the Blue Mountains. I understand there are fires in the mountains, but hopefully, they are being contained. However, it is about an hour's drive from here and won't affect us where I am. We will possibly get the hazy sky and black ash landing on our lawns, but no fear of fires here.

Berona Report 11 Jan 2013 23:25

Only nine days to go for us! I'm already tired of seeing the clips of Heath bobbing about in a small boat, but now, we have been shown a clip of a funeral, where some of the mourners are dressed in school uniform. I wonder who dies?
They also tell us that there are a lot of new faces - so I suppose we will have lost some!

MEgirl Report 13 Jan 2013 07:01

Eight days to go for us, can't wait. We have been safe on the Central Coast, no fires near us this time. Western Sydney has seen quite a few young fire bugs. The heat is really affecting me, but a cooler one today. We desperately need some rain, my lawn is tinder dry.

Yes I have seen the new faces advertised, too many to cope with so quickly. A few drops of rain, not enough to make any difference and some thunder. Hope you are all well.

Berona Report 13 Jan 2013 08:15

Good to hear from you Kim, and to know you are not affected by the fires.
Yes - won't be long now and we can all get back to "normal"!!

Hi all.

Nice to see you Kim,i hope all is well with you.

We are now at Brax and Heath have coght up with their brother and plan taking him back.

We have had a wee bit of snow.

Berona

Berona Report 14 Jan 2013 22:45

It's hard to imagine how cold you are having it at the moment, when we are having it so hot! It would be so nice if we could swap about 15 to 20 degrees - then we could all be the same, and comfortable.

We still have about a hundred fires burning here in NSW alone. Another 33 homes were lost yesterday. As fast as the fires are extinguished, new ones start.

Evening, glad you are safe in your area of Oz we have seen the devastation on the news .it looks really bad .how any body can start these fires beggers belief ,as you say it is very dry so the bush will soon catch fire .its been cold here But no snow on the western side of scotland as yet .,H&A Bianca in melt down taking drugs & Heath & Brax going back to the bay with Kyle ,will he give evidence to help his brother ? Take Care All x Barbra

Berona Report 14 Jan 2013 23:40

You will be seeing a lot of Bianca and her handling of her grief.
Dex is still not recovered but is home nowl.
You also will see Casey at trial - and Roo and Harvey do finally tie the knot in spite of constantly arguing about the wedding arrangements! It's nice to see her aunts Colleen, Morag and Celia again.

Looks like Heath is going to turn into a 'nice guy' like his brothers. A little unrealistic!

Hi all
I keep flitting in and out of the thread when I am on GR which is not too often these days.
Sorry to hear about all the fires over in OZ, we are all thinking of you over here in UK, and yes, I wish we could have a little of your sunshine at the moment. We had a bit of snow yesterday which has all melted during the course of this morning, however, more is forcast this week and temperatures could go down to -6.

Glad H&A is back. Bianca got on my nerves before with her love him don't love him attitude, now she is really getting on my nerves. Writers have taken her grief a little over the top, I think, but then, that is just my oppinion.

Looking forward to seeing a few new faces, Kyle and his female friend have appeared quite a bit lately.

Best wishes to all
Dee

Hello Dee. Nice to know we have another fan on the chatboards. Feel free to join us at any time.
I might seem a bit cynical at times. That's because the writers make the story out of something which might be real, but they don't research it enough, or don't employ 'advisers' and since the program goes to quite a number of countries, I believe they should spend more money and 'get it right'.

MEgirl Report 18 Jan 2013 08:18

Hi all, It's been like hell on earth today. At 3 pm was 46.7 degrees where I live, no close fires, but the state is ablaze and Victoria too. Pretty hot out where Berona is too. Thunder storm at the moment, but lightning strikes could make it worse for firefighters. Had a few drops of rain and that's it.

Stay safe people and looking forward to seeing my Brax on Monday, yes he's all mine, lol. xx

They are up to no good, Marion. Adam is not the friend that Brax thinks he is.

Kim - I saw him first!.....However, I'll share. You can have Brax - I'll have Liam.
BUT - if you get tired of Brax, let me know!
