Ask Hailey how she feels about her coming home. Mothers have a way of judging how their children really are. If Hailey thinks she is OK, well and good, if not tell her to say something.

Specially if Emily is also a bit off colour. One more nights rest in hospital won't harm Ava.

LG, I'm so pleased to hear that Ava is feeling better, I can understand how relieved you must feel. I think DET and Aunty are right in saying make sure that she's ready to come out, it's best to be on the safe side.

Rita be careful if you go out, we can't have you falling down.

Maz be careful when YG gets there, she'll probably start a fire so she can see those firemen in action.

Just had an idea. I don't think this constitutes advertising. I'll call it a Christmas gift idea.

Here you are YG and the rest of you. This should leave YG speechless and immobile for a while.

YG Report 17 Dec 2009 19:44

Moi!!! Chip pan fires!! Noooooooo!!!

We have snow, snow and more snow forecast for tonight!!

LG, so pleased to hear that Ava is much better. Hope your OH is rallying round too.

Have taken my two remaining days of holiday to finish my christmas shopping and the plan was then to borrow LGs broomstick to fly up to Maz's, BUT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Busy shopping this afternoon, arctic blast came right through the shopping precinct and thought I better head for home. It passed over within a few minutes so I decided to carry on a bit longer and headed back into M&S. What happened next >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

My foot went from under me and I crashed to the floor with a resounding thud!!! No, it was not an earthquake!!!!!!

I limped home on the bus with a jarred back and very sore hip and thigh!!!!

DO NOT LAUGH!!!!!!

AND DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ANY BOTTY STAMPING!!

I can't even begin to contemplate what I could do with a fireman tonight!!

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 17 Dec 2009 20:11

Oh you poor sore petal. Never mind. Cut and paste the link from my last post into your address bar an click the enter or go thingy. You won't have to go anywhere.

I doesn't sound like you stayed around for help. Probably too embarrassed. Hope your botty is not too sore.

Next time borrow the broomstick and just hover a few inches above the ground.

Update '''' Ava is home and doing wel. Still far from right but definately on the up. OH and Hailey are still very poorly, Jack has improved and Emily and I could be better. I still have Emily staying here until Ava sleeps through without struggling for breath just in case she has to be rushed off again.
2 bits of good news OH fixed the washing machine and J ack bless him even though he had nothing but hassle ans stress has passed his driving test first time on Wednesday.

YG

YG Report 18 Dec 2009 17:52

I'm home!!!

Made a steady journey into town on the bus, rather than try to find a parking place. Wandered round and round and round looking for two presents and came back with neither!!! Oh well, there's always tomorrow!!

The hip is feeling a bit better, though still limping a bit and a very sore back. And NO, it wasn't the sherry!!

I looked like a geriatric granny walking round the shops.

Who said 'Well that's normal'!!!

Pleased things are on the 'up' LG. Just got to get OH & Hailey right now. Heartiest congratulations to Jack on passing his driving test.

Hopefully everybody will be back to normal health in the LG household by next week and you can all have a good Christmas.

It's been horrible here today, snowed all day and it's still coming down heavy now.

Morning all.

Some boards report that people are having problems clicking on reply again. If it happens just edit your last post or hold down the reply button until it works. It lasted a couple of hours last time. Good to see everyone is fit and becoming weller again.

Our news broadasts are showing snow in the northern hemisphere. Yuck, horrible wet stuff, but it does look pretty.

It looks pretty if you're in a nice warm room looking out of the window. It didn't look pretty while I was driving in it today.

YG

YG Report 18 Dec 2009 19:56

It's very pretty when it first falls Aunty. It's when it turns to horrible dirty slush that it's not so good!! Plus I don't like driving in it either Paulline!!

Hi There,

I am in the throes of grappling with a bunch of rellies that should have had their heads read.

Pity the snip wasn't available to them in days of yore. Would have saved me heaps of work.

YG You aren't the only one to take a tumble in your icy conditions. Sounds like half the population of the UK is sliding around on their botties.

Good to hear all and sundry are making recoveries.

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 19 Dec 2009 10:11

We've been sliding around in our cars as well Aunty. I have to get round a couple of really bad bends before I get to main roads that have been gritted. No one is managing to actually stay on the road when they get to the bends.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 19 Dec 2009 11:02

If we go driving in snow and ice up in our large hills (well they are sort of small mountains) in Victoria and Southern NSW our vehicles are supposed to be fitted with chains.

Do you lot have that or do they just scatter something on the road to melt the ice or what. It sounds like a pain in the butt (sorry YG) to have to go to so much trouble to drive anywhere.

Oh and regarding the sources. I'm a good girl DET I always put in the sources, just never file my paperwork properly. The card index has climbed to a staggering two cards. Whoo hooo making progress!!
