	I was 14 and at boarding school, so didn't really know anything about the lying in state, but as a special treat we were all invited into the headmistress' flat to watch the funeral. She had a TV set (still a rarity) and we all sat round a small flickering black and white picture for what seemed ages. So I can say I "watched " the funeral, but I can't remember much about it! The thing that does stick in my mind was the picture in all the papers of "Three Queens". They were all in black, heavily veiled, outside the church, I think.

	That's a great item to have Pammy. I was almost eight when the King died and all I can remember is photos in the papers, particularly the one mentioned by AndysMum. We did get to watch the coronation on telly though.
