How are things Bridget? You have been in my thoughts a lot.

We have had a couple of quite cool days which has been rather pleasant.
After a few weeks of quiet the builders are back across the road after their Christmas break..

Our house is on a corner plot at the intersection of two streets, last Thursday at about 6.30p.m. a car coming up the street failed to stop at the intersection and collided with another vehicle. I heard the loud bang and went out to see what had happened. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. I was asked to telephone the police which I did, expecting one vehicle, but oh my word, in a matter of minutes there were 6 police vehicles, 2 traffic police vehicles, four ambulances and a rescue
vehicle outside! This really amazed us as usually if someone tries to get the police to respond to a call the answer is "We have no vehicles available"

I have been busy painting some butterflies etc. on the top of my cement table which is outside, but the paint I am using doesn't seem to cover the pale blue I used to paint the surface very well and I have had to give 4 coats.

Back to the mundane things of life for me - the dishes, the washing!!

Take care.

A quick good morning and thank you for keeping the messages coming. Well today is the day I return to the UK. I am not looking forward to it but at least I will not be working, just cleaning the flat and then coming home again as soon as possible.

I have been invited by the owner to go back tomorrow to say goodbye to the residents and staff, and it seems churlish not to do so. Anyone have a view about this?

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning Bridget and all
Hope your flight goes ok to UK Bridget. With regard to the invite to say your goodbyes - I think if I were you I would go and hold my head up high after all you have nothing to be ashamed of in actual fact it is the reverse.
How long will you be in UK for ? Not too long I hope.

We certainly have had some unusual warm weather this past week or so - we actually had a bbq on Sunday lunchtime. Just me and hubby and one of next doors cats who always knows when we are having a bbq !!

I will be returning to UK in March as my sister is off to Australia for 5 weeks and between my sons and a cousin we are looking after my mom. Hubby cannot come with me as he feels he cannot miss an opportunity, if it arises, of loosing a client who wants to buy property - as last year was so dismal on the sales front - so it will just be me. Youngest son did say yesterday he would pick me up from any airport and take me down to Cornwall - bless him.

Well off to do a little housework and then I am taking myself for a walk - really must get some fresh air and get shot of this cold/flu bug which wont leave me !!!

Take care all and hurry up back home Bridget.

Love Mary xx

Bridget, good luck with the UK trip. I would go to say goodbye then you will 'close off' that episode. And the residents would probably like to see you and say goodbye.

How I agree about leaving with my head held eye, i am even taking an extra smart suit with me.......

I feel somewhat calmer today, although still cannot eat anything as is has a terrible effect...maybe I will be better after tomorrow!!!

You have all been so supportive that for once i am short of words, but I think that you all realise how much you have helped.

Well i am going to try a weak tea as i ma thirsty and just hope it does not have any adverse effect, and I do not have to leave just yet.

Hope the weather is not to cold or wet near Hastings!!!

Hope your flight goes well Bridget, and I must say I agree with the others, go and say your goodbyes and that will be the end of the chapter.

Glad to-day is a bit better for you and after to-morrow hopefully things will be even better.

Look after yourself.

Good to see you back here Bridget.

I am sure that yiu got on with at least some of the staff form your old place of work, as well of course the residents.

As long as you feel up to it, I am sure that it will be a good thing to say a proper good-bye to all these people.

Please take it easy, sorting the flat out. Don't overdo it. You don't want to hurt your back again.

I find that a little Earl Grey tea, can be helpful, when feeling a bit yuckie.
Can't usually manage a full cup. Still find it difficult not to clear my plate ( or finish my drink) as old habits die hard.
However, am begining to learn that sometimes "enough is enough"

So take it easy, Bridget and be good to yourself.

To everyone who has sent such uplifting messages and good advice. i can only say" Thank you form the bottom of my heart"

My flight was not without its' idiosyncrancies. I arrived at the air port, valencia with plenty of time and managed to people watch which is always interesting. Boarded the flight OK and found a comfortable seat by the window. Now this is one of only three journeys by E,,yJ,t so must not be to harsh but I maust say that in my view R..n A.r do a much better job. For example trolley came around with drinks but no plain water only fizzy water. No sandwhiches which caould be called palin and not many of those that they did have.!!
we arrived late at the airport due to bad weather, well cannot blame EJ for that and then had to stay in the plane for another 15 minutes because they had forgotten to send out transport from the plne to the main building, bu=y now we were running very late.
Thank goodness my care chap was still there waiting for me...I could have given him a hug.
finally got to flat at 01.10hrs and phone was ringing as OH very worried.

I thought it would feel strange being back here but actually it is OK. i have to buy some essentails milk etc but otherwise I feel that time will pass quickly and right now am not even worried about going to say goodbye.

Tess I am going to buy some of the Earl Grey tea as several people have mentioned it....just wish the the stomach BUG would go away and then I might feel as if i really am getting better. OH has called to say that he now has the same thing!!!

well enough from me so goodnight everyone and sweet dreams

Good morning everyone, i slept from about 02.30 to )7.45 which is rather good for me. Oh the relief when I realsied that I do not have to go to work!!! I felt "Grand" as the Irish part of me would say.

The flat was tidier than I thought I had left it and that had been worrying me as i hate untidy pllaces, so goodness knows why I was fretting so much. I am going to ask the two cleaners at previous work place to come in and help me spring clean and then I can tell the agent that I am back and if they wish to show people around that is fine. will also start packing my belongings and this time I shall take care not to take things that I no longer need. There must be somewhare nearby that decent clothes can go to.
The good news about being so umwell recently is that I have lost about 20lbs and am going to work hard at keeping this weight off. I do feel better for loosing the weight. My downfall is all the lovely tapas .......

Have a good day everyone and oif I could come and give each of you a hug ofr your patience, support, honesty and advice I would do so ...but simply have to send a big hug (((((((((((((((())))))))))))))) to you all through this amazing media

Have a good day despite the weather which here is grey, cold and wet

Good evening everyone

Well as you have all been so supportive i hought that the least that I could do is to send you all a message.
I went to meet with my former boss and I was very surprised at his demeanor and pleasant manner. He made me very welcome, told me that I was free to wonder anywhere around the building to spens time with the rsidents , to chat to the visitors, to speak to the staff etc...... not sure what has happened to make him so amaible. But never one to hold grudges I decided to go with the flow and all in all it was a pleasant afternoon, I helped some of the lady's choose new skit=-rts etc as the Roaming shop was there today.
Anyway after a couple of hours I went and had a chat with the owner and it was at this stage the staff arrived and I was given a wonderfukl surprise of a large bouquet, a Photo frame, a very large box of Lindt Chocolates, Dior Poison perfume etc in a lovely box and some handcream. I was very taken aback as this did not fit into all the emails etc that has been sent to me over the last month...

The owner then asked if I would return tomorrow to meet his mother who I have known for far to many years to mention and of course it would have been churlish to say No.

what a strange ending after all the anxiety, the worry and the distress......I am so glad that i have kept all the emails as I have the veidence of what has been happening.

So ladies your optimism , your thoughts and adviice has stood me in good times, If I lived near to you all I would invite you to share the chocs , have some wine and a very nice dinner as well but sadly we all live so far away

Take care of yourselves and you are all very special people

Good morning everyone and i hope that you are all well.

It is difficult to describe the weather other than to say everything is grey and damp and can also hear the wind so it must be quite strong. I do hope that it clears soon and we see signs of spring.

I am feeling much better this morning both in health and in well being.

So pleased yesterday went well for you Bridget - nothing more than you deserve. Perhaps the owner of the home is feeling guilty - as well he should. After all you only went for 6 months which ended up as more.

Just sort out your things and get yourself back home to Spain so that you and your hubby can continue your retirement in peace and harmony.

Take care
Love Mary xx

Mary
Thank you. I was struck by the word Harmony, just what we do have when we are together, I think that is one of the reasons I love him so much, not that we always agree with each other but harmony in our relationship.

I have to sort everything out and have two ladies from work coming in to help me have the flat thoroughly cleaned etc ready for me to leave on the 3rd Feb meanwhile I shall visit some friends, do some packing and shopping and relax,

best wishes

B
