If I came over to Pommie land, at the very least I'd offer to do your ironing!

I've got to say Allan - Lynda is gorgeous:-)

Redfern isn't the nicest area. It's inner city - only 10 minutes from the heart of Sydney so not a pretty place. Lovely old terrace houses in some parts - horrible and rundown on some streets.

Hi Sue, Diane, Posh, Lynda, Allan, Hope I haven't missed anyone.
Welcome back Allan, glad you're now liberated.

We have terrible problems with the staff here.
The maid is a hussy,
The cooks always drunk,
The butler's carrying on with the maid, and stealing the whisky,
The chauffeur's been missing for days,
So has the the kennel maid?
Does anyone want a job?

I have even just had to run my own bath water............

Tec.

Good evening Tec

What is the world coming to? Having to run your own bathwater.

It reminded me of my chilhood in Manchester when the first bath of the year took place in summer after the coal had been removed from the bathtub

I don't know with some people.....first asking for free board and lodgings (I cant spell accommodation!) and then being fussy about where it is!

Diane, I hope that your pain igoes soon.

A few years ago I damaged a nerveat the base of my back after falling down some stairs. I couldn't sit for more than ten minutes before having to stand up.

That went down very well at Council meetings!

When I thought that I had recovered, I drove to Perth (2 hrs) and when I arrived I almost fell out of the car as my back had seized up

I can look back and laugh now but at the time it was sheer agony!
