Come on Tec - you've been on the carpet job for days now. We'll have to get the whip out!

I don't mind if you stop practicing the dancing until the job is done.

Hi Allan
thank you, I am glad to be back, I have missed the chat even though I did put up a couple of quick post while I was away, but couldn't stay around as it was the hotel's putter I was on.

Allan - I know why you venture onto the other threads - you're out to win a few hearts!!!

Mind you, it seems like the holidays are over now. (all kinds of holidays) and what you see to-day is probably just the 'warming up' to the weekend!

You work hard, Diane. Do you live in? Sorry I'm being nosy but it's interesting. I'm sure there's a scheme like that here in Aus. but I don't know who would fund it. Probably the Aged and Disability people.

Hi Allan........

I wasn't reffering to Uzzi's theads - but the more contentious ones. I like to have fun on here, and some serious discussion without someone hurling abuse - that's not why I'm here. Leave that to others.

I'm doing quite well with the carpet - the hall is 25ft long, and wide in places, but I've done that. Now I have two staircases, and two landings to do, but it's all cut ready now - so tomorrow should see a lot done - if I don't decide to run away.

Tec.

I suppose, Tec, that if you didn't look forward to doing the stairs, you could always do a runner...lol

Young Allan!...that's made my day now Sue

In regard to the contentious threads I must confess - and you won't believe this - I would get involved in the arguments quite often. I just couldn't sit on my hands when some people came on and made comments designed to start trouble. I stopped going on the threads when I decided I didn't like the person I seemed to be on those threads. It wasn't me and I didn't like it. Now I let them get on with it - providing they don't attack my friends.

Actually, that song was originally sung by a genetic researcher and was titled "Send in the Clones"

Lol @ Allan's runner gag..

Speaking of carpet I have vowed that my next house has no carpet in it whatsoever...Working in the aged care industry and going into their homes has really put me off.. The company that i work for does not do overnight but we are on call 24 hours a day..

Tafe this afternoon so its the washing to do and housework to catch up on...

Hope you all have a great day!!!

Hi, Janet. We only have carpets in the bedrooms. We have polished floors in the living areas and vinyl in the kitchen. The polished floors get very dusty but they do look nice.

Allan you're getting worse:)) I'm have just listened to Julie Covington sing Don't Cry For Me Argentina and am now listening to Sarah Brightman singing it to see which one I like best.

Hi Sue
no I dont live in, my hrs are mon to fri 7am till 1pm and sat 8am til around 3pm depending on what time we finish the shopping and sun is 8:30 to 3 or 4pm as that depend's on what time we get back from a trip out some-where, don't worry about asking question's and I don't think you are being nosey and yes it is hard work but can be very rewarding some-times. There are time's when I wish I was able to have a weekend off but being the only carer that is not possible. If you have anything else you want to ask I will answer any question if I can and thank you for your interest.

Diane x
P.S. sorry it is takeing me so long to post but I'm not very fast typing today as I am a little tired.

Thanks Diane. I'm on a community committee that looks into transport and care for elderly, disabled or ill people. There are a lot of people who fall through the gaps and we're trying to lobby local and state government to close those gaps. It's amazing what goes on in the community that no-one is aware of until they need help.
