Well I was yesterday Alison but as I posted earlier I spent 41/2 hrs sleeping so didn't get any done today lol. I hope to do some more sewing tomorrow that's if I don't go into lazy mode again. |

Just popping in for a moment. Alison - apart from pain relief, do you have any after-effects from the morphine? |

I suppose the strength and dosage have a lot to do with why it's given to us. I didn't have any pain. I was having a miscarriage and haemorrage at the time, so I have no idea why it was given to me. Come to think of it - maybe I would have had pain without it - who knows? |

It probably relaxes you as well so you are not fighting the healing process. One of mine was when I had one of my blood transfusions so stuff was going in everywhere. I had had an ectopic pregnancy and prior to the operation - they ran tests etc did not know what was wrong - took all night - I was dehydrated so had to have the drip before operation - they put drip in then wanted me to take a shower and drip and me and the shower curtain all got tangled up - I was laughing which was probably a good thing because prior to finding out what it was - I was quite prepared to curl up and die. Doesn't feature in my list of best things I have done. |

You're probably right Perse. Mine was administered after the doc rang for the ambulance to take me off for a D & C. I do remember wanting to go to sleep in the ambulance, but I had lost a lot of blood and have always believed that was what made me sleepy. That was a long time ago - they no doubt have different methods these days. |

I just thought how embarassing - sort of glad it wasn't me... they usually have a little tag saying made in Albuquerque or some such on them. |

Actually Perse, someone did that locally with a rubber modelof a Cane Toad: it caused havoc until someone actually picked it up and realised what it was |

Allan | Report | 26 Nov 2009 08:39 |
And I should explain that modelof is a Ukrainian word meaning a substitute |

Well since you asked nicely - we had a lovely lunch with our youngest today. She works hard earns good money but her husband who is doing his doctrate in "earthquakes" is beginning to worry me. He has come so far he is a real swot in that he only is happy with an A and now he is getting stressed and talking about chucking it all in. She is very supportive and I sometimes think he doesn't realise how much he has achieved. We are all proud of him and sing his praises and he sings our daughter's - they only give out a handful of scholarship funds and he was one of the recipients - it isn't a fortune but still it's loads better than just getting a highly commended. We will all be together over Christmas and his mother will be over from UK so hopefully once through that things will look brighter for him. |
