Hello, Tec. I doubt anyone could call you lazy. I think it wise to look after yourself and relax for awhile. You'd be no good to anyone if you became ill.

The luncheon is hard work but we have such fun - a few dramas too:-) Last year we drop two cooked chickens and had to race around looking for bbq chooks to supplement the ones we had. Luckily the place we hold the luncheon is near shops so we were ok. We had a good laugh afterwards but at the time we were flustered.

Good evening/morning everyone! Perse - don't go yet. We haven't had time to chat!

Tec - sorry about your weather. Ours has been good for two days and to-day is expected to reach 25. Showers forecast, but they usually don't happen. Hope yours settles down soon.

Sue - hope you have a pleasant day at your luncheon.

Diane - good to see you posting again. Hope you are well. I suppose I've missed her, but hope she will see this next time.

Where's our Linda? Must still be in London. Can't say I blame her. I loved living there. Of course, I was young and single then - I might feel differently now.

Goodevening/ morning all you lovely people,

Hi Tec, good to hear you are takeing thing's easy, you deserve it and forget about feeling guilty, it will all wait until you feel ready to do it.

Sue, just thought I'd let folk know my life wasn't alway's geared around my job as it is now lol. Meeting all those that I mentioned was a long time ago, I even once nearly shook hand's with the Queen but as she approached a ignorant man pushed in front of me to shake her hand, and me being a lady stepped back and let him. I was very tempted to kick him in the shin's but thought better of it lol.

Persey, hope you enjoy your day hun.

Linda, hope to see you back here soon after your time out hun.

Alison, if your looking in I hope your feeling alright, and hope to see you posting soon, take care and stay beautiful.

Oh Berona - I nearly gave into temptation and made a comment about looking at old London maps showing wide open spaces and parkland. I was also going to say that London has changed a lot since those days. However, I wouldn't be so cheeky as to say something like that to you:-)))

Sue, 21dys and counting hun,
I should be makeing bib's ( not baby's one's ) I make them for the disabled person I care for, he need's them as he dribble's a lot, his mum uses them when he eat's and he himself like's to hold one and shake it, if he hasn't got one to shake he tend's to chew his sleeve's. They are a lot bigger and thicker than the one's you can buy, so his mum has alway's had them made for him or in the earlier yrs she made them herself. I have been makeing them for about 5yrs. Got to get new one's made before he goe's for restbite as he has chewed a lot of the last one's I made lol

Good morning to Berona and Sue

Good evening to Diane and Tec

Good ??? to Persephone

Now back on the modem, but I don't know for how long. Wet to explain to OH yesterday that not all LED's were lit. Plugged it in, reconnected it to the phone jack and the blasted thing fired up!!

I'm afraid that I've never met any famous people, but I nearly have!

Once as a much younger person I was walking past the Free Trade hall in Manchester when 'nearly ' bumped into Harlod Wilson just before the election when he became Prime Minister.

Again, when I was younger, but this time with my OH and son, we were holidaying in Scotland and were on the back roads of Balmoral. We were nearly wiped out by a black Land Rover driven by a woman wearing a headscarf. Tried to get the licence number...there was none. It was the Queen.

Good Morning Berona,
Hope your fit for anything today - have you fed the cat yet?

'Evening Diane, I've met a few famous people in my life, some nice people, some not quite so nice. The funniest encounter was at a charity event I was officiating at. Barbara Windsor opened the event. As she approached me she first stopped dead, then yelled in her unique voice,
" 'Allo darlin, whatchew doin 'ere, cor blimey fancy seeing yew 'ere, catch ya later darlin, we'll av a drink" Then gave me a hug?
Nobody believed I had never met that woman before, and I did take some stick over that.

Tec

Good Morning Allan,

Hope the modem keeps going with all it's lights on,

Gosh, just imagine if you'd collided with the Queen, the insurance co would never believe it, and you would probably still be in the Tower to this day..........

Good evening Tec,

I think that I would prefer to be hugged by Barbara Windsor than be wiped out by Elizabeth Windsor!

Allan,
Never thought about that before.......

Do you suppose they're related?

Berona Report 24 Nov 2009 21:45

Allan - I wonder what would have happened to you if you had been wiped out? I didn't know she drove herself - but I do remember seeing a photo of her during the war, when she was in the army (for a while) and was being shown how to check under the bonnet of an army truck! As if!! It wasn't very convincing even then! - She was about 17.

Sue - photos of London with open spaces and parklands? Parks, I understand, but open spaces? How old were the maps?

Allan

Allan Report 24 Nov 2009 21:45

I'm not sure Tec, I suppose go back far enough and we all have Adam and Eve as our commen ancestors!

I wonder if their surname was windsor

Good Morning Berona.

The Queen drives but not normally on public roads unlike her daughter who was the various Police Forces' favourite driver at one time as she kept the revenue rolling in from all her speeding fines!

Diane

Diane Report 24 Nov 2009 21:54

Tec, I would love to meet her, I can imagine her being just how you discribed, she must have thought you were some-one else who she had met, I wonder who that was,

Allan hi hun hope your well, Harold Wilson, he who came from Huyton, I live a 10min bus ride from Huyton Village though it is now reffered to as Huyton Town Centre, we have a statue of him sitting down on a big block of stone in a open area in the Village, he look's quite at home sitting there with his leg's crossed in deep thought.
BTW, I forgot to mention I lived 3 door's away from Steven Gerrard, ( before he was famous ) the little devil kicked a ball through my front window when he was 8yrs old, I stuck a knife into it and placed it in his front garden, I so wish now I had got him to write his name on it and the date could you imagine how much that ball would be worth now.
In case you don't know who he is Allan, he is the top football player for Liverpool and also England's Captain. Tec will know who I'm talking about won't you Tec.
Please don't think I am showing off, can't help it , Liverpool is full of so many famous people lol

Berona,
Yes the Queen does drive herself, even now, and is frequently spotted driving around Balmoral, and Sandringham. Doubt she ever drives around city or urban areas...........neither do I.

Allan, I believe Adam and Eve were known as Mr and Mrs Alpha

Diane, thaks for explaining about Steve Gerrard. I have never been a great football fan even when I lived in the UK
