Hi Pat,
Sorry there was not a suitable film at the cinema for you to enjoy. They are currently showing "Fame" at a cinema near me.

Good evening Tec, it was cold overnight here. When I went for my walk I could feel the chill and there was a very clear sky.

On the plus side the waxing moon was very orange and the reflection of it setting over the inlet was magnificent

Pat, most of us only seem to catch the aftermath of some Threads and you have to try to put two and two together.

I have followed one or two Threads of the vitriolic type and the seem to get whooshed after a few pages either by the Threads originator or by GR

Hi Tec,

Good evening everyone. i am just popping in for a quick look. It is Halloween here, but it has been very quiet. we used to get lots of kids coming round when we first moved here, but we now have a very large Beech hedge at the front of the house and it is fairly long path along the side of the house to the door. nice and dark, so it really discourages them.

Hi Linda,
Glad it has been very quiet where you are.

Good Morning Allan,
The orange moon reflected on the water sounds lovely. We get the most magnificent sunsets over the sea here, and sometimes reflected on the mountain behind me, then the mountain appears to be pink, a beautiful sight.

I have no patience whatsoever with the nasty threads. Fail to understand why anyone would want to come on a genealogy site chat board to pick an arguement with anyone. Surely there's enough unpleasantness in the world without sitting on a computer adding to it.

Hello Linda I'm glad that you are not into the 'Spirit' of Halloween.

Tec as the spats usually occur over the weekend, the phrase"Get a life" springs to mind

Hi Linda,
We had quite a lot of Trick or Treaters at the door, mostly little ones accompanied by parents standing at a discreet distance. Gave them all sweets and apples.
How is the car?

Tec - you have no idea just how much of that poem described me!

Allan, I too, have spoken to the lady on the boards and had a normal conversation with her. On one occasion, when someone said that she had posted more than 200 posts in one day - I'm afraid I let go and told her that was a 'sickness'. With her home, family and work commitments, nobody could find the time to post that much and I suggested she seek advice for it...Strangely, she hasn't posted much since then, but I don't think it was because of what I said. There have been holidays, etc. since then.

Good night everyone,

I don't mind Halloween if it is the neighbours children, it is the ones who turn up and have made no effort at all, but want money.

I actually do have some sweets this year. mum l used to eat loads and there were some un opened packets,so I brought them back to give out.

The little girls next door won't be coming because their grand father died a couple of days ago, so all is very sad there.

The car is fine Tec, so hopefully that is one problem sorted out. I used it today to go to mum's. I bought some pansies and wall flowers to put in the front garden to replace the geraniums which wee there. The Geraniums should have been frosted by this time of year, but they were still flowering away. It seemed a shame to pull them out really, but it is due to be colder next week, so they wouldn't have lasted much longer

Linda,
Glad the car is fixed, one less worry.
Had any more viewers to the house?
I had some very strange and wierd people around when I sold the last house.
But the strangest ever was when I sold a bungalow years ago, an Irishman turned up with the cash in a BRIEFCASE, demanding to buy the place even though we were on the point of signing contracts with someone else. He was shown the door, and he got quite nasty too.

We haven't had any one else to see the house. The estate agent has given us some feedback for m the people who did come, nothing untoward. I suppose there was just an initial interest when it first went on the market, but I don't expect anything else to happen until February or March when people start viewing again.
It is a bad time to put a house up for sale, even if it wasn't such a bad recession

How odd wanting to buy a house for cash, I wonder how he was thinking of doing the contracts
