Dusts the poor old thread off and retrieves it from the bottom of page two.

Thanks Linda. I'm not normally here at this time, but have a plumber coming "before 8am" so have made an early start. It's 6:10 here now.
Must get some brekkie and come back soon.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Oct 2009 19:38

That is an ungodly hour to be up and if you believe that a workman will arrive before 8am, well.....

Berona

Berona Report 29 Oct 2009 19:47

Yes, it got me out earlier than usual! Well, I'm ready for him now, so I suppose he'll be late.

It's a different story when you're in business for yourself!

Never said I could sing - must be a flaw in my Welsh genes.

A bit like the hole in the knee of your Welsh genes

Greetings from the Land Downunder:-))

Can you sing Tec? They say all Welshmen can sing.

I do hope your plumber turns up on time, Berona.

Hi, Linda - you may be pleased to know that I have gone back to the early 1700's with OH's Morrises. OH"s 6 x great grandparents. So easy to find once I got that marriage certificate.

Yes I guess, but we can't excel at everything

If you are that good, you can do the line I am stuck on Sue, the one where he declares he was born on the sea on the way over from Ireland, but never appears any where with his parents.

Greetings everyone....I hope he turns up soon too. I've had a blocked sewer line since Wednesday and have been using buckets of water to force the flush through. Can't be a complete block, as it does get away eventually - but I have the dishwasher and washing machine both loaded waiting; and I had the quickest shower on record!

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Oct 2009 20:05

Hello Berona, i wondered where that strange smell was coming from

Berona

Berona Report 29 Oct 2009 20:07

Thankfully no smells as yet, but if it blocks completely, there might be!

Linda, I'm not that good actually. It's all there on Ancestry parish records. Each generation laid out with no question marks. Living next door to each other on the census returns. Family members visiting each other tying in the relationships and family members following on with occupations. I just can't believe that I've found out so much about this "mystery" man. The only thing I can't find is his death. Looks like your brick wall is going to be a difficult one if you can't find him.

Linda - isn't it right that a child born on a boat takes the nationality of the country where the boat was registered? Or is that another old tale that isn't true?....If so, maybe your ancestor was born on a Chinese Junk? LOL.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Oct 2009 20:39

Sorry got called away for a phone call.

I won't ever be able to find the one line I really want which is my maiden name. it stops dead with my direct line ancestor who was born "on the sea", apart from the one census when he says Ireland. I have exhausted all possibilities, I have one maybe, but no way of tying anything in. Good job I have a myriad of other lines to follow.

If you want me to look for your death Sue, just send the details.

Hmm when I say your death....

Berona

Berona Report 29 Oct 2009 20:44

I can think of a few comments to make on that one Linda, but I don't think they would look good in writing!!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Oct 2009 20:48

Still no sign of your workman Berona?

Berona

Berona Report 29 Oct 2009 20:51

Yep! Like I said - it's different when you own the business! They were here at 7:30....pulled out my toilet completely - also the cistern - showing only the pipe in the floor - and are talking about diggint through my rose garden out the front of the house. Looks like the toilet was never put in properly in the first place - so hopefully, I won't have any more problems with the water failing to turn off at times, etc.

All I need to do now is NOT have that second cup of coffee!
