Hello, fellas:-)) As we are revealing ages I am happy to say that I turned 56 last month. I'm not overly bothered about age either. After all we have a range of ages on here and we all get on just fine. I too get the usual aches and pains. I'm definately getting forgetful and my hearing isn't as good as it was but I have no major health problems and although a little overweight I feel good.

Colin you most definately have got a sense of humour and you are obviously unaware that you have. It's a very dry humour which I enjoy. I like you too - hope that doesn't embarrass you. I think we are all getting a sense of each other's personalities. I remember saying years ago to my son that you couldn't really get to know anyone on the internet but I'll happily eat my words.

Allan you posted as I thought about the words I typed. I find that I'm somewhat more tolerant and yet more impatient with people that I was when I was younger but I'm really getting to the stage where I pick my fights. What is it they say - 'don't sweat the small stuff".

Allan, I know what you mean about Perth. I am Sydney born and bred, although when I was young we lived in an outlying area. The metropolis hasn't expanded in that direction because there is nowhere to expand to.
What I like about where I live is the accessibility. I live near a suburban train line about 30 minutes from the city.
There is a lot to interest me in the city, and I usually go in by train, about 30 minutes.
The system is archaic compared to Perth's, but electrification began in the 1920s and more lines have been grafted on to the system using the same old fashioned voltages.
I also have reasonably easy access of the various motorways so can get away fairly quickly. Sometimes of course the "scenic route" is more interesting than the motorway.

It has brought together many people from diverse locations, all enjoying what to me seems like genuine friendship, and who feel that they can express their personal feelings without anyone twisting what they say

Hello Sue, I also try not to sweat the small stuff, but do get hot under they collar about politics (still).

Transport within Perth and the outer suburbs is ok, but in the Regional areas it is not as frequent or efficient!

I wouldn't like to live in Sydney but I love to visit. I especially love the harbour with the Bridge and the Opera House. I love Darling Harbour and The Rocks. I enjoy visiting the Power House Museum, the art gallery, Hyde Park. It's an exciting city compared to the more cultural Melbourne. I also love Hobart which is more a town than a city and having family there means we get to see other than the tourist areas. I like Brisbane but it's not my favourite place.

Sorry I just disappeared last night, I received two long phone calls and by the time I came back,there were lots of posts, so I left them to catch up on this morning.

I have been to a few meets Sue and it is interesting to meet people in real life. I too would love to meet the other people from this thread. roll on that lottery win.

Allan I have an external hard drive connected to my computer which automatically backs up as soon as any change is made. All very well unless the house burns down (my sisters did, but that is another story), so I have some files on disc elsewhere.

I agree about the age thing, inside I don't feel sixty,I feel not much different than when I was in my thirties say. The outside may tell a different story though!

Showered as promised but am beginning to wilt. I will retire to the boudoir early with a good book ... actually, it's not all that good. It is a biography by a journalist cashing on the rise to prominence of her subject.
However the biography is of an interesting lady: Julia the Red (Julia Gillard), the Australian deputy Prime Minister.

It's happened again!....I take so long to read the posts so that I can catch up and when I'm ready to post - everybody's gone!

It's 10pm here so I, too, am about to get back to my reading - in comfort, of course.

You know why everyone in Oz is writing more in the evenings, don't you? It's because the good TV programs are finishing and we only have rubbish to look at. Much better to be on here!
