Good Morning Berona,
When we take to that floor with our tango, they'll all scatter to the sidelines.
That big band, the glitter ball twinkling, we'll tango our way around the world, and then all the way across the Harbour Bridge on the way home.

Hi Sue,
It's hasn't been a bad day. one of my friends and I walked home from work. It takes about 40 minutes so it's a good way to catch up on the gossip!

Hi Perse,
Nice to meet you? Are you a Brit or an Aussie?
I only asked because the Aussies are fast asleep when I'm working hard in the office.

Hernando's Hideaway is a very good tune to Tango to and should be an apt place for you two to head off to.

Berona,

I remember as a spotty youth of 16 being allowed out of school to visit a show being held at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester.

The show was actually an expo of possible future advances in communications. There was still discussions about which systems would be developed, but nothing as we know it today although I can know see the genesis of where we are

I always seemed to invest in the wrong things....I bought an eight track stereo for the car: cassettes won. On arrival in OZ I purchased a Betamax VHS recorder: wrong.

Then a few years ago we upgraded our, by now, compatible video recorder only to find that DVD's had won the day.

Oh yes, I also remember when the BBC started experimenting with stereo broadcasts. One track broadcast on the telly, the other on the radio!

Berona,
I seem to be light years behind everyone in getting these modern gadgets and by thr time I get them something new has come on to the scene.

I think we stay younger longer these days if that makes sense. The secretary of our organisation is 76 and she would put most of us to shame. She is very computer savvy and works like a Trojan. She reads to a lady who is blind and does Meals on Wheels. She would be shocked to find that some people would think of her as old - I certainly don't. However my mother is 75 and she see herself as an old lady.

Patricia

I am a Kiwi and unlike the feathered variety I do get to fly (no remarks about my wings Allan).

I am very much an Aussie fan - and it is a short travel across the ditch - and I love their food -they do it so well - sorry I am always talking about food.

So if I keep saying nice things about Sue, Carolee, Berona, et al I get to stay on here.

Mornings and nights best time to come on here for me as I am even more out of kilter with our daylight saving - and can end up talking to myself.

Perse (Norma)

Pat unless you're wealthy no-one can really keep up with the very latest. We've just been talking about these Blu-Ray machines and wondering how long it will be before our DVD players are out of fashion. Our first video player was BETA and it was enormous. Our DVD player is very small and slim. We have a good collection of dvd's and I'm wondering how long before they are useless.

Persephone, I wouldn't worry about talking to yourself.

What I would worry about are the daft replies you give to yourself!! :0))

My mother has just come round to having a dvd player as we've shown her how many great movies you can get so cheaply. We're going to get her one as an early Christmas pressie and then the family can get her some of her favourite old movies.

I have really enjoyed our chat this morning/evening but I really need to get going. Love to all of you and enjoy your day/night.

Hi all I'm back ( who said worse luck ) I have just eaten chicken curry with rice. I don't bother keeping up with all the gaget's, in fact I'm only going to get my first DVD recorder and player because we are changeing over to digital for TV soon and you can't record a different side to the one you are watching with video recorder. It does my head in just cause they are changeing over to digy I have to buy a box and DVD recorder if I want to view and record. What happened to free choice, ( lad's don't say you have a choice watch or don't watch )
