Tec,

I will post the Quasimodo joke (?) it is labelled as Quasimodo 1 & 2 as the first part was the original and can stand alone

Tecwyn Report 28 Oct 2009 21:45

Allan,
All of those things are completely over my head, but hopefully one day someone may show me.
I don't actually know anyone else with a computer here, and the sheep don't know anything.

Allan Report 28 Oct 2009 21:49

Quasimodo wanted to have a holiday from his bell-ringing Duties at Notre Dame Cathedral.

The worthies of the parish were more than happy for this to happen, but advised Quasimodo that he would have to arrange for a stand-in.

Quasi advertised, and the street was eventually filled with eager, prospective bell-ringers.

One by one Quasimodo tested them but they were all useless. Some hadn’t the strength to get the bells to peal others just couldn’t get the peal right.

Finally there was one candidate left. Quasimodo took one look at him and nearly burst into tears. The poor man had no arms (at least he looked ‘armless to Quasi!!)

“How?” asked Quasimodo

“Just take me to the actual bells” replied the man

So Quasimodo and the man trudged up to the top of the bell tower some 500 feet above the ground.

Steadily eyeing the first bell, the man ran at full speed and hit it with his face. The tone the pitch, were perfect.

Quasimodo was in raptures. Time and time again the man ran full tilt at the bells, each time hitting them with his face.

“The job’s yours” said Quasimodo, “but please, just one more time”

The man backed off, ran at full speed for the bells, tripped on a loose rope and fell headfirst out of the tower.

SPLAT!! He was killed outright.

Quasimodo was horrified and scurrying down the outside of the tower arrived at the very messy corpse at the same time as the police

“Ok” said the police “who is he?”

“I don’t know his name!” wailed Quasimodo, “but his face rings a bell”

Quasimodo 2

Having got over his shock, Quasimodo, again went through the same process, with the same result.

All the potential applicants were dismissed, and Quasi was thinking that he would never get his holiday when there was a knock on the door.

Quasimodo opened it and nearly fainted with shock.

There, on the doorstep, stood the man with no arms. On seeing Quasimodo’s expression of fear he went on to explain that he was the first man’s twin and wanted to try for the position.

Once more they trudged up the bell tower, and once more the man ran at the bells full tilt, hitting them with his face.

If anything, to Quasimodo’s ears, the sound was even more exquisite than that produced by the man’s brother.

“Yes,” exclaimed Quasimodo, “yes”

By this time the man was getting ready for his Grande Finale

He ran at great speed for the bells, tripped on the same rope as his brother and hurtled to a very messy death at the bottom of the belltower.

Once more Quasimodo scaled down the outside of the belltower and arrived at the body at the same time as the police.

“OK, Quasimodo, who’s this one?” asked the police officer

Quasimodo just looked at him with tears in his eyes and replied….

“I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s a dead ringer for his brother!”

You are a very good responsible 'girl' Sue setting up photo albums for the future generations.
I suppose with time ticking by I better not procrastinate and date a lot of my photos etc - at least my girls and all the periphal rellies have a family tree courtesy of moi so they will all know their roots.
OH's cousin has done up four albums for her four grown up children each one the same - she used big huge scrapbooks and they look terrific and I was even in there which was rather sweet - not the photo but the idea of putting me in there. We don't keep in touch with her enough and she only lives a few suburbs away.

Hi Barbra - hope you are okay?

Enjoyed your chat with the old geezer, Tec - the poor man needed a break to go and have a cuppa he was so busy chatting.
Between the two of you - you have created a little bit of interesting history information for the rest of us.

I did try to ge back on here last night - but himself was HOGGING the computer - he was putting an ad on our Trade-me (like E-bay) and being the perfectionist the photo was being readjusted and readjusted etc during the commercial breaks of "New Tricks" and I thought I would get on here around midnight - fell asleep on the couch he called out my name I thought it was morning must've been asleep all of 10mins - no he had not finished still had more to do - so I put on my pyjamas with Owls on them hoping they would keep me awake. Gave up in the end and went upstairs to bed at 1am.

This morning I had to do all my mitsvahs before I could come on here and I have now got a nice piece of Corned Beef cooking away in the crockpot with spuds and carrots etc. That will do us for about three meals and a sandwich. The washings is blowing in the wind - so it is a good drying day.

Now I will go and have a chat with my rubbish bin as it needs feeding.

Norma
xx

Persephone Report 28 Oct 2009 22:05

Gosh while I was typing, Quasimodo and the rest of you all slipped in.
My son-in-law is clever with the DVD, videos etc, my OH can't even set the DVD to record he is on a par with Tec's sheep.

I want to know why but my posts always have a long space of nothing (bit like between my ears) below them and yours don't?

Hi Persephone,
Yes I enjoyed my chat with Mac, took me back some years I can tell you. Much more fun flying about in two seater aircraft than great big Boeings,
I do wish I'd learned to pilot one though,

Hello Persephone, give my regards to your bin

Diane, Linda I've not yet learnt how to put music to the pics yet but I have downloaded a free programme from microsoft for that purpose.

I created the DVD purely as a bck-up disk as my processor is making few weird noises and I didnt want to loose the photos.

At the time I changed computers a couple of years ago, the hard drive on the old one went AWOL and I couldn't transfer any data to my current computer. Fortunately, the techicians at the shop where I bought the new system were able to extract the folders for me

I think Nero was in fact Irish as he was supposed to play the fiddle...hence the expression "He was on the Fiddle"

Funny jokes, Allan. Told them to OH and he groaned:-))

Why thank you Linda.

Persey - be aware that Allan may want a picture of your bin - he is rather partial to them. If he asks what it's wearing ignore him:-)))

I've been here for quite a while, but there are so many posts to read, I've only just got around to saying GOOD EVENING/MORNING to everyone!

Diane, don't let Tec fool you. He is only about ten years younger than I am, so that makes him 29. If you don't believe ME, just wait until you see us doing the Tango when we go on our cruise!!
