Thank you for the extra wishes. I'm sure I'll enjoy myself.
Tec - I know I shouldn't need to remind you, but make sure you get good quality boots and hard hat for the duchess. She deserves the best.

Good night Linda - thanks for the good wishes. Sleep tight.

Barbra, my OH crocheted blankets for each of our great nieces and nephews when they were born, one is currently a work in progress ( the blanket, that is!)

I haven't done that, Barbra. The quilting group I belonged to used to make quilts for still born babies. The idea would be to wrap the little one in the quilt and then the parents could take the quilt home as a reminder - as if they need one - of their little one. It's a wonderful thing to do.

Excuse me for popping out and in, but daughter is coming over this morning and if I don't do something, she will do it. A couple of years ago, health problems didn't allow me to do much, so daughter and daughters in law popped in and did it all for me. However, as I improved, I was able to do more and more myself - but they still spoil me - so now I have to work harder than normal when I know they are coming!

Berona,
I only buy OH the best quality steel capped boots, trouble is she comes home covered in quarry dust on her boiler suit, so has to strip off in the garden, when I can hose her down.

Yes Barbra, she does love really - I'm almost sure she does, almost.

Alison Report 27 Oct 2009 23:04

Hello absolutely everyone!

Nope, no storms here - it don't rain in this 'ere neck of the woods much *spits spittle into the dirt cowboy style*

I am so excited (think back - you remember excited, Allan?!!!!!!!) Ooh I'm cheeky today.

Anyway, yesterday, a distant rele sent me copies of 2 paintings they have of my grandmother's other brother. This one was also a jockey (brother to the jockey who died in India), but this one, won the Melbourne Cup, the Sydney Cup, the Caulfield Cup and a few other races too. It's ever so exciting!! His name was Andrew, but he was known as Dingo, because he came in from the bush, so we fondly refer to him as "Uncle Dingo."

How are we all?

Allan

Allan Report 27 Oct 2009 23:07

Happy Birthday Berona, sorry I'm late with wishing you this, hope you have a nice day with your family.

Barbra I used to crochet a lot, made christening shawl for my oldest grand-daughter which was then used for her two sister's as well. I also made christening gown out of a piece of wedding satin that my daughter and I found at a shop that sell's material and oddment's, she used the gown for all her daughter's with the shawl.

Sue that is a lovely idea about the quilt's for still born babies.

I have to go too. Having trouble with my Dad's estate papers - so much "stuff" to fill out and sign and get witnessed etc.

I agree with you Allan - most of my excitement is directed at the mail box these days!!

We are lovely and overcast here! I love rain.

Ciao now!

Have an excellent whatever!
