Oh sorry Diane, it was Patricia who was having the Chinese dinner.

I am busy looking for Fanny for Sue (I retyped what I originally put lol)
I think that she must be one of the suffragettes Sue because they refused to be on the 1911 census. I can't see the younger children either. I assume it was the Chingford family in 1901

Hi everyone,
I've just spent a couple of hours reading? How ealse am I going to get through my pile of books
Like Linda says 20 c is balmy! To be honest I understand Fahrenheit better. Anything above 70 is warm.
I haven't got a webcam or anything fancy like that. Just a simle laptop.
Regarding clothing i don't think I casted anything out this year!

Linda, that was the correct thread that you mentioned. As I said I can find no trace of him prior to his marriage in 1904 to my grandmother. Most people can find the births and early lives of relations who then disappear.

Mine has to be the flaming awkward family that does things back to front.

Tec I have to remove my green wellies before entering the house, but I am allowed to keep my paddington hat on

Berona Report 26 Oct 2009 21:44

That's it, Linda. It didn't get above 16 here yesterday, yet last week we had it over 30!

OK. If I hook it up - don't the others have to have one too?

My son and DIL are coming here at the weekend to fix a few things. My DVD doesn't play or record and it's only 2 years old. Only replaced my TV a couple of months ago - and I have a CD stuck in my D:drive and the drawer won't open - so I'm not touching the Webcam! I'll let them set it up for me.

Hi Patricia,

My OH gets through piles of books - she is buried in a book right now. She reads thrillers, spys, murders, detectives, espionage, that kindof thing. Belongs to a book club, so we get books delivered by the box full.
Reads all these murder mysteries, but I'm still here, so she can't have learnt much.

I never thought of her being a suffragette. Actually family stories say she was a very strong minded lady so that's not hard to believe. The younger children are spread all over. Some married, one working in London and one in the army. I've accounted for everyone and checked that she isn't living with any of them. Thank you for looking.

Lol - I'm glad you retyped your post. I know exactly what your original was:-)))

Oh dear Berona, you do seem to be a bit of a technophobe.

You can use messenger or Skype if just you have a webcam and the people you are talking to can see you(you don't have to have it switched on all the time). You can only see them if they also have a webcam.

Hi Berona,
All you stuff sounds very technical. I'm a bit of a technophobe. The less you have, The less that can go wrong.

Allan,I was just thinking of Paddington. Do you have a little suitcase as well/

Hi, just a quickie as I am at work. For Berona feeling the cold, I should point out that 20 C (68 F) was the maximum that day, and as you say quite bearable. However her minimum was probably in single figures (below 50 F).
I haven't put away the doona yet, although it sometimes ends up on the floor beside the bed.
To answer an earlier question- by Barbra I think- how do I cope with the high 30s? I don't. I retreat to the back bedroom which is always cool.
My unit/flat/apartment doesn't have air conditioning, just a small fan.
My car has air conditioning.
Catch you all later. Colin

Well now, Tec. That just shows how much you are appreciated! And why not? A dapper gentleman like you, who does so much around the home - and even dons the appropriate uniform for each chore - chauffeur, cook, gardener, etc.
When you are nursing, do you wear the white slacks or the black stockings?

Hi Diane,
You're the same age as me!
I've put on weight but It's only half a stone. My firend says that it's having children that do it. I'm only 7 and a half stone now. I was a small child and I never really grew!
Last year at work we had a 70's do and I loved it and I tried to explain to the youngsters what was worn in the 70's and it wasn't all afro haircuts and flairs.
