Have a nice day, Sue.

Allan - I sometimes look in on your thread - and I see you post on other threads too. Getting yourself known by all the ladies!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Oct 2009 23:02

Linda,
I usually turn up for dinner in my holy jeans, and my tea shirt from the Queen concert I went to yonks ago,
but as it's Berona, I shall make an effort, just because I live in the hills doesn't mean I'm a total hillbillie,

Tec

Fancy anyone needing to show proof of age! Linda - do you have a toy boy?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Oct 2009 23:04

Tec, I am sure that you will look lovely in your best 1970's flares and tie die shirt

Allan

Allan Report 25 Oct 2009 23:05

Linda, I have a Seniors Card. Theses are issued by the various States and can be used for free transport on Sundays and Public Holidays, with concession fares a t all other times. 50% of train fares and regional coaches.

You also get a discount on Council Rates and Electricity and Water Bills and on your Driving Licence

You are eligible for these cards once you turn 60 and work no longer than 20hrs per week.

Some shops also give discounts to card holders

Unfortunately he is not a toy boy Berona, he is the same age as I am. He needs to prove that he is old so he can get the age reduction at the barbers etc.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Oct 2009 23:08

All I've got is a card to give me 10% discount in B&Q on a Tuesday,

big deal,

Tec

Berona...I think that I had better watch my 'p's' and 'q's'

And I can't help it if more ladies post than men, so it stands to reason that I would post more on their threads!

Misunderstood all my life! :0))

The bus pass gives free transport on the buses after 9.30am. Some shops give over 60's discounts, but we don't get any discount on rates etc. The only thing we do get from the government is free eye tests and dental checks

Good morning/evening
*waits for Tec to compose himself after his giggling fit.*

I hope everyone is well or as well as can be expected. Carole, thank you, I'm fine. Have been reading the posts, but not contributing - I have a truck load of work to do.....

Happy Birthday for "a couple of days time", Berona. 39 hey? You're only just younger than me!

I have been quite excited about finding the death of my grandmother's brother. He apparently died in India from Small Pox - he was a jockey. The Aust Genealogical people have the indexes, but they're not in strict alphabetical order, so they have had to search through mounds of names apparently. I gave them a time frame of 1900 to 1910 I think. Anyway, it looks like they've found him in 1904. Have ordered the cert now, just have to wait. *note to self - stop fidgeting in anticipation* (should that be a double t?)

It's quite warm here. I think we're expecting a top of 33 degrees. Groan.

Hope you enjoy your lunch SueMaid.

Hi to Allan and Tec and Linda and Pat and Persey and everyone else I haven't mentioned.

Berona

Berona Report 25 Oct 2009 23:13

I don't have any problem. I have a card too, but nobody ever asks me for it. They all take one look at me and accept my word!....Don't know if I like that or not!

Allan

Allan Report 25 Oct 2009 23:13

G'day Alison. I hope that you are keeping well

Alison Report 25 Oct 2009 23:19

G'day Allan,

Yep, feeling pretty good.

You?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Oct 2009 23:19

Good Morning Alison,

I am quite composed now.
That's exciting news re your Grandmothers brother, though sad to die of smallpox in India. Can understand you eagerly awaiting the cert.

33c eh - don't think I could cope with that now, do you have AC in your house, or is that a silly question. We've had the heating on all day here.

Don't work too hard in that heat,

Tec
