Morning Aussies,
I can't believe it's raining where you are Berona.
It was sunny but windy in Devon. I went out to dinner.I've got in the habit of going out as It's just me at home. So I treat myself to a roast dinner.
Happy birthday Berona for a couple of day's time.

Good evening Brits,
The weather was nicer than what was forecasted.

Hi Berona - whatever day your birthday is I hope it's a good one.

It's pouring here and has been since yesterday afternoon. My daughter phoned for a chat yesterday afternoon and bemoaned the fact she wasn't still in Bali with the warmth and the sunshine. Can't say I blame her especially as the children were getting fed up not being able to play outside.

I'm going out to a posh luncheon today for the Celebration of Life - a breast cancer support event. I'm really looking forward to it. Last year I won a raffle prize which was a lovely handmade patchwork quilt worth $1000. I was very pleased as you can imagine.

Sorry Pat - didn't see you. Hope you had a lovely dinner. We stayed at the Toby's Inn when we were in Exeter and had a lovely roast dinner in the restaurant.

Thanks Pat. My brother lives alone and does that. He goes up to the local club a couple of times a week and gets a fabulous dinner and sweet - very cheap too. I should do that, but I'm too lazy to take myself out.
Also, I like to cook, so I enjoy cooking up quite a nice meal for a few people - then enjoy one and freeze the others for the nights when I don't feel like cooking.

Hi Sue,
I had roast chicken but I'm going to have roast beef next week.
Funnily enough the guy who owns the Cafe is a Vegetarian.
So you've been to Exeter! That's where I live!
It's your Monday morning now. They should be banned!

Berona,
I don't like cooking! I've watched loads of TV cook programmes hoping for inspiration but nothing happens!

We didn't see much of Exeter but it's lovely. We actually went down to Lympstone and Dawlish as my ancestors came from there. Lympstone seems to be where it all began and now we are spread all over Britain and the world.

Good morning Sue. Thanks for the good wishes. At last, rain! For once, I don't have to water the plants!

Editted to say I've been to Exeter too! Probably before you were born, Pat. It was after the floods in 1953 and I saw the devastation they had caused. Lovely countryside.

PatriciaAnn Report 25 Oct 2009 21:06

Hi Sue,
I can't remember the last time I went to Lympstone but I'm more likely to go to Dawlish because it's on the South Coast and i prefer the South Coast. I like Torquay.

Hi Berona
Yes that was before my time!
Exeter's changed a bit since then! Even in my lifetime and I would say certainly in the last 35 years.( I'm older than 35!)

Good Morning Sue,and Berona,
Good evening Patricia,

Hope everyone is well. It was the first of our dark evenings here, but we have to get used to it.
I'll come over for your birthday Berona, take you out to dinner, know anywhere good?
Sue, Oh is much better thanks, bit listless and tired really, but I did get a decent nights sleep last night, apart from the dog giving me a wake up call too early.
Patricia, Hope you did enjoy Sunday dinner, and you will look forward to roast beef next time. We had chicken today, but I'm not keen on it. Much prefer lamb these days.

Good morning/evening to all

Sue, I'm going to give up posting on other threads, either you or Berona are suddenly there. It's a goo thing that I don't post anything nasty :0))

Berona, many happy returns for yesterday..I take it that you turned 40? *grins*

Pat, I have fond memories of Devon. Once had a holiday in Dawlish. I'm not going to say when but it was about the time of the Great Train Robbery!.

Tec, you really should teach your dog to tell the time.

I will apologise in advance in case I suddenly disappear: there are a few thunderstorms around. On my walk, I was enjoying the light show over the Indian Ocean, storms so far away that no thunder could be heard, next thing one brilliant flash of lightning followed by an immediate crack of thunder that sounded as though it had arisen from the Pits of Doom, and I reckon I could almost have broken the pole-vaulting record without the aid of a pole!!

Morning Allan
Evening Tec,
Roast Chicken is my favourite because when I was growing up it was a luxury and you only had it Christmas and Easter. It's hard to believe that now

Hope the thunderstorm isn't too bad.

Good Morning Allan,

I like to watch lightning come across the sea. We get wonderful thunder storms, as it seems to reverberate around the mountains.

I have given my dog my old watch, so no excuses in the morning.

Why are Sue and Berona stalking you around the threads?

Good morning Allan. Yes, Berona and I are watching you so be careful...be very careful:-))

I had a good run of research yesterday evening with Uggers. He has an ancestor who married an ancestor of OH's so between us we wrapped up some BMD's. The wonder of the internet that we can talk to each other so many miles from each other on here or on Facebook.

I'm with you reagarding Roast Chicken, and chicken in general. OH is like Tec, she loves lamb

Hi Patricia,
I think I am "considerably" older than you, and can remember when we couldn't afford chicken even at Christmas - now I think I've had too much of really.
But I am a great fan of chicken soup!

Good morning Sue, we posted at the same time

Tec, I reckon that despite what they claim, both Sue and Berona are part of the pc brigade, ready to pounce on any injudicious comments. They probably have an army of spies monitoring the varoius Threads and all postin, as 'SueMaid' or 'Berona' :0)))

Do you mean they are the Thread Police - Miss Marple and Jessica Fletcher of the boards.

Patricia, I don't need an excuse to have chicken soup, any excuse will do.
