A lison,
I suppose that's not too bad, but far enough every day. The nearest Special Ed' School here is about 30 miles away. They are talking about closing our local school, which means the children will all have to travel miles on the bus every day. Some of them will be 4 yr olds. I think that is wrong, especially on dark cold winter mornings.
Is it a Rock Concert you're having - anyone good?

Diane.....Surely you know the Pierhead is in Liverpool, by the Liver Building?

Tec.

Diane

the mention of the pier took me back.

I lived in Manchester and remember taking a cruise up the Manchester Ship canal and going to New Brighton and then on the ferry over to Liverpool. A very weird feeling as when we walked to the station to get a train back to Manchester every where was closed and the City deserted.

And that was on a Saturday Afternoon. But it was over 40 years ago

I meant to say before Tec, that I'm sorry Mrs Tec is still feeling unwell. My 19 year old neighbour has diabetes - would it be the Type 1? I know she had a thing implanted, like a pump? to regulate her insulin? I'm not sure now, it's been a couple of years, so I can't quite remember the gist of it. Did you say your wife has Type 2? I guess she can't have any regulators implanted?

Yes Tec of cause I know were the Pierhead is but I read your post so quickly I thought you were in Liverpool visiting or something, just put it down too to much fresh air hun lol.

Diane........
You've been at the Bailey's again....I can tell.
I would have liked to have seen the Queen Mary 11 on the Mersey
OH still poorly, but sleeping ok, which means I do too, thank you

Alison,
I can't imagine Allan working at Grace Bros. Mrs Slocome would eat him.

Tec.

Gosh Tec, I wonder which character from Are You Being Served would Allan be?

Berona - The Two Ronnies - do you mean Allan and Tec, or do you know that I am short and stocky!

Diane

Diane Report 21 Oct 2009 23:53

Allan I went on the Manchester ship canal when I was in junior school on a day trip out, it was the other way that we went and came back on the boat as well as going on the boat. I can't understand why every where was closed unless it was very late ,but even then being a saturday night the club's should have been open.

No Alison - not you. Allan and Tec. What a combination on stage (specially if they wore their maid and nurse's uniforms).

Allan

Allan Report 21 Oct 2009 23:56

Diane..as I said, it was over 40 years ago...OH and myself weren't even married then!

Alison..I see myself as Captain Peacock: although I could also see myself as old Mr Grace if the Nurse is part of the deal

Alison,
OH takes insulin twice a day - I don't think the implant is available here on the NHS yet. We've only seen it talked about on tv.
Diabetes seems to be a cinderella illness here, OH was attending a six monthly diabetic clinic where a so called consultant held a clinic. He came from a hospital 45 miles away. Then they decided to cancel that and said she would be transferred to the diabetic clinic her GP holds monthly. When she went there, he said they don't cater for Insulin Dependent patients. So now she has no medical care for diabetes. Considering how ill she gets, I think that's disgraceful.
