Ooh bacon sandwiches, the thought is making me hungry,so I will go and see what I can find, after all it is supper time. Not bacon though, even though there is some in the fridge. We had some spare time at lunch time,so went into town for lunch,so I have already sinned enough in the calorie line for one day

Berona Report 21 Oct 2009 22:13

Yes, I know bacon sandwiches are not good for a girl's figure.
When I was a 'girl', I didn't have to worry about my figure!
I should't have them these days because the figure went astray later in life, but they ARE nice!

Berona Report 21 Oct 2009 22:15

Yes, Tec. She becomes a tiger where water is concerned. Won't even go out the door if the path is wet.

Good evening/morning all

Berona, my mention of indigenous wildlife was merely a 'roos' to get people talking!

Tec, It sounds like you no longer need a maid (with or without hairy legs). You obviously got fed up waiting!

G'day to Alison, Barbra, Carole, Colin, Sue.

Persephone has been busy on Chat nudging posts regarding Jean back to the top.

I'm going to pop over there soon to see if things have settled down!

Berona,
There comes a time in life when the figure is not so important - case of
"Oh what the hell"

I've always been fortunate, I can eat what I like, and never put on weight.
This drives my daughter insane because if she so much as looks at a cake she puts weight on.
But I'm never still, so must burn it off.

Good Morning Allan,

I so do still need a maid - I want the beds maid - the dinner maid - and everything else around here maid.

Allan

Allan Report 21 Oct 2009 22:27

Tec,

I may break down 'cause I was maid in China!

Berona Report 21 Oct 2009 22:32

I had no worries about weight until I was over 60 and it took a few years of gradual increase to find that it was a thyroid problem. After that was removed in 2001, I was put on the wrong dosage of (permanent) tablets to make up the lost energy, and the weight increased more rapidly.
I changed doctors and was sent to a specialist two years ago. He altered the dosage and sent me to a dietician who planned a diet to suit my needs. I lost 25 kilo over the next year and gained a lot of energy. Since then, I have been stable (although I would like to lose a lot more) and I usually do stick to the diet, but occasionally I get slack.
Now, that makes me feel guilty about the bacon sandwich - but it WAS nice!

Ahh, Tec,

My voice has been compared to crystallised honey sticking to the bottom of the jar!

Good night to those who have left us.
I haven't looked at any other threads yet. I hope all is quiet after the previous night.

Berona

I think that many of us who are supposed to stick to a diet for whatever reason fall of the waggon sometimes.

As the dietitian who I used to see said, regard the sinful things as treats and enjoy them occasionally.

Greetings!

Just having my morning cuppa. Made salads for the blokes' lunches last night, so I don't have to make sandwiches up for my little lad.

I'm still groaning over Allan's "roos" joke!

I just love Joan Hickson as Miss Marple.

I think things have settled on the other thread, although I note the one that Bob with the longitude and latitude put up with "venom" in the title seems to have disappeared overnight.

Better have my brekky (and tablet) before I take the lad down to the bus.

Allan

Allan Report 21 Oct 2009 22:50

Good evening Barbra, and good morning Alison: Glad you liked the joke!

Barbra, I'm well thanks, as I trust that you are.

Alison you seem well organised, On the days I work, I end up at the last minute slapping a bit of ham between twp piecs of bread and rushing through the door
