Berona, of course you were conned...I only said to consloe yourself with the knowledge etc :0))

Barbra, we have a wood burning fire here. In Perth they have a programme to buy back wood fires and replace them with gas because of the haze.

The biggest haze comes from the controlled burns carried out by a Government Dept to reduce the risk of bushfires.

In fact it is extremely hazy at the moment but it does lead to some fabulous sunsets

Linda,
The reason you can't find your Great Aunt Florrie is that she didn't live with her unmarried sister at all. She in fact lived with my Great Uncle Authur in Ramsbottom, and they had 11 children.
The battered old pan was the very one Great Aunt Florrie belted Great Uncle Authur over the head with when she discoved him in the coal shed with her unmarried sister.
I hope that solves the mystery, so that you can sleep in peace tonight.

Ah that explains it Tec, I have copied and pasted that into my tree and shall pass the knowledge down the generations

Aaah nice cup of coffee. I was a good girl and waited an hour after having my tablets before I had any food or beverage. It's good to put something in my stomach - again.

We have a major fire on the east side of my city. I'm on the north west, so not in danger, but 2 of my cousins are on that side. I'll get the news from my aunt today. She wants to borrow Rapunzel for a fancy dress do tomorrow (Rapunzel is the name of my wig). I'll go into town soon and drop it off.

My sister sent me a link to a site which has tartan carpets and rugs in Scotland. Ooh, I'd love to get the McLean Hunting rug for my extension when I get it.

Linda, I have some of hubby's lot that I can't find in Censuses either. Frustrating.

Linda, that brought back many memories.

Not Tec's over the top tale of your Aunt Florrie and his Uncle Arthur, but I've just had a look at the link!

I always loved the "Last of the Summer Wine" a nice, gentle comedy!

It wasn't me who likened your meeting of your young lady on your early morning walk to Howard and Marina. I shall blame that onto Diane or Barbra, I can't remember who it was, but as they aren't here, either will do

Hello alison, i hope your family are not affected by the fire

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 18 Oct 2009 00:11

Oops, Barbra is here, so I shall blame it on Diane

Have a happy day all downunder,

Goodnight

Barbra both in Perth and down here (Australind 170 kms South of Perth) it reached 36C yesterday. I'm not looking forward to Summer

We slept with all the windows open but there was not much of a breeze

It's currently 25C.

The strange thing is that last weekend was so cold we ended up lighting the fire!

Goodnight Tec - sweet dreams!

Barbra, we are expecting 31degrees today, so it should be quite nice.

Linda, apart from the washing smelling like smoke - it's not too bad.

I expect I had better have some brekky, put the washing on and then get ready to visit my aunt.

Good Day and Good Evening everyone. I hope you find your Aunt Florrie, Linda!

Think I'll get another 'fix' of caffeine.

Don't let her pick out too much, Allan - or you will be supplying them with their stock next time they have a trash and treasure sale!
