Linda, My last house was surrounded by huge sycamore trees, the leaf fall was a nightmare, especially after prolonged periods of rain, but ifleft the lawn was wrecked. Next door neighbour had one of those suction things that ""hoovered them up, but was not very good at it.

Allan, Petrol lawns are the latest thing in the UK, you dry the mowings, stuff them into the tank, and away you go.........50mpg..........

Hi Alison hun, you sounded more yourself on your earlier post, stay beautiful. I don't usually iron bed sheet's or quilt cover's but the valance and cover I was going to put on last night was creased to he..l so just put on sheet and slept without cover on quilt and ironed them when I got home as well as clothe's, now I am looking forward to getting in my bed tonight with all freshly ironed lol

In fact just seen time and I think I will retire to my bed now,

Actually with all the drugs mum had at the end, we could have made a fortune selling them in the town, but we were good people and handed them back in to the chemist

It must be our faces, not that I'm insinuating your face is anything like mine you understand.
But it was my experience when I was involved with various organisations, that if anyone had to be "spoken to" it was always me that was elected to handle the situation, however unpleasant.
Then when a member of the Royal Family was attending a certain function, guess who was elected to escort that person around on behalf of the organisating?
On the basis that "You do it so well" rubbish and stuff, and yes, people like us get conned into handling difficult situations, because others can't or won't. Good Luck with your lady, I feel sorry for her too.

OK, this is driving me nuts.Where on earth was my great Aunt Florrie in 1901 and 1911? She never married and spent most of her life living with her unmarried sister. I have spent hour after hour trying to find this elusive ancestor.

I actually have a battered old pan which belonged to her, my mum used it as an egg pan. As Florrie was born in 1879, it seemed a shame to let it go out of the family

I still think I was conned, Allan!
However, I hadn't seen the lady for months - in spite of the fact that we share an adjoining wall - and she seemed to be hiding from us. This, after being such a nice, friendly person. Others had tried to knock on her door, but she either didn't answer or wasn't home - so it was a pleasant surprise when she knocked on my door and thanked me for my invitation.
This makes me hopeful. (fingers crossed)
