Berona Report 11 Oct 2009 22:10

I liked it when I had breakfast in bed, but it was mostly only on Mother's Day and birthdays, although I always had a cuppa in bed at weekends. I don't think I would have liked breakfast in bed all the time because I remember being rather anxious to see what kind of a mess had been made in the kitchen!

That's actually quite a nice civilised arrangement Linda. I could get used to that, but it's not likely to happen as I am always up and about two hours before the Duchess appears. Also we have no newspaper delivery here, so papers have to be collected from the village shop.

I think the only time I've had breakfast in bed was while in hospital - a bit drastic, so I'll have to continue getting up and getting my own, and no, I'm not seeking sympathy.

Tec, sorry I misled you. By FR, I meant Friends Reunited. I have both in my Favourites and click on either one, then flit from one to the other at times, even though I have different passwords for them - I don't use the passwords because I rarely log in. My GR takes me straight into the Community boards, as I seem to use them more than the genealogy section these days!......I wonder why????? I then click on Friends and go straight to my own Home page.

I also notice that since I logged in this morning, the Reply box is not jumping around. Maybe GR is trying to tell me something!!

I have now finished all of my allotted for Sue, she took me up on the offer I made and I have just finished them all.
sorry to have deserted you

Good evening/morning everyone

Linda, Tec, neither my OH or myself have breakfast in bed, although I do coook the Sunday morning breakfast, usually boiled or poached eggs and only because I like them soft, not like something Nelson could have used at Trafalgar.

Similarly if I want anything to eat I prepare it myself: In nearly forty years of marriage and three years of courting I cannot ever recall my OH making my sandwiches for work lunch.

Also, my OH has only two types of cooking; frozen, ie forgot to take something from the freezer, or full steam ahead ie despite being able to regulate the heat of the hob everything is going at full blast!

I do however give her the occaisional cup of coffee in bed...although I much prefer mine in a cup!

Good morning to Berona, Carole, Colin and Sue

Allan

PS Tec, take no notice of Berona. I find that as well as deaf ears, most ladies are also equipped with blind eyes....they never see what men do around the house, only those things they don't do because they are too busy doing everything else!

I expect Sue will be delighted with your findings Linda - I wonder if they will make her walk home from the garage. I always get a courtesy car when mine is in for a service.

Allans very late, I do hope he hasn't been arrested for accosting a bin in the moonlight.
Dianes missing too.

Allan is here Tec, you seem to have missed him It wasn't new stuff I found for Sue, just lots of the images she wanted

Allan

Allan Report 11 Oct 2009 22:47

Tec!

I would never accost a bin, even though they are wheelie, wheelie mean to me

Berona Report 11 Oct 2009 22:47

Well, good morning Allan! So Tec should take no notice of me, eh?
Never mind......you'll keep! My hearing is perfect (well, most of the time) and you wait until I get my new specs! I won't miss a thing!

By the way, what time is it over on your side? How can we expect people on the other side of the world to know what time it is when we don't know ourselves? It is 8:47am here.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 11 Oct 2009 22:49

It is 22.50 here Berona and I am off to bed soon. time to spend some quality time with OH as I have been ignoring him all evening while I sorted out Sue's images. You see I have my priorities correct in seeing to Sue first

Yours is easy to remember, Linda - you're the same as the posts - it's the various times here in Australia that are hard to keep up with!

See what I mean, Linda? Three hours difference between Western Australia and Eastern - with a different time zone again in the middle!

Just as I get used to our daylight saving, England goes back to standard time (25th?) and I have to start calculating again.

I wish my English sister-in-law understood the time difference. She often sends me a text message - and always at 3am!!! I think she confuses "ahead" with "behind"!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Oct 2009 23:01

Linda, In case I miss you saying goodnight, I'll say it now, sleep well,

Good Morning Allan, We seemed to have cross post - that doesn't make sense, but never mind.
I have a good time cooking here, every time I open the oven door and forget to shut the kitchen door, the smoke alarm goes off - I think the neighbourhood think I burn the dinner every night.

When we change our clocks on the 25th I shall be totally confused again about the times, so will just accept whatever happens.

Ironically, Berona, when the UK does go back to GMT I will be able to chat longer with the Pommies than with the Ozzies (except Janet of course who is in Perth) as when I get back from my walks at 5.00-5.30 am you Eastern Staters will be getting ready to go shopping, driving starting the day's activities as it will be 8.30 am

I must be a 'tweeny'

Berona Report 11 Oct 2009 23:09

Yes, Allan. I was wondering where you were, but you were either still out on your midnight walk, or still asleep!

Since we went to summer time, we have an extra hour to talk to the Poms, but from 25th, we will have another hour again! That's great - but when will we get any work done?
