Good morning Alison, good evening Tec

Tec, In WA we had our long weekend last week. That happens on about two Public Holidays...WA has theirs first. Don't ask me why other than the fact that Eastern Staters always were out of step!

Good Morning Alison,
Good Evening Linda,

Aww Linda, it doesn't sound as if you are much better, sounds like a very nasty bug. Have you got medication for that chest?
Wise to be in bed, keeping warm. I do so hope you feel better tomorrow - take care

Hi to Linda, Tec and Allan,

Nope, no holiday weekend here. We're expecting 35 degrees though! Yuk.

Alison

Alison Report 2 Oct 2009 22:53

Have a rum toddy, Linda! Puts hairs on your chest (that's how I got mine)!!!!!!

I actually do have medication, which for me is rare as I normally just ignore bugs. OH is just as bad as me.
My daughter is coming home tomorrow to stay for a couple of days before the funeral. She says she is going to make us chicken soup. that would seem to be a cure for a cold????

Allan

Allan Report 2 Oct 2009 22:55

Linda, my sincere apologies...I've only just seen your posts. If you have a bug, please don't stand too close to the screen..we don't want to catch it :0))

Good morning, everyone. I went to bed late last night and so decided to stay in bed longer this morning. It's grey and cold so bed was a good place to be.

I've been continuing some fascinating research on OH's London ancestors. A very well to do lot although within two generations most were labourers and gardeners. I've managed to source photos of the churches that were prominent in their lives and I found a wonderful site full of old London maps and history which adds a great deal to all the facts and figures.

Good Morning Allan,

Alison, How are you today? Is there footie today?

Allan, Wouldn't it be so much easier if all the States got together and synchronised everything - holidays, time zones, I know some States would still be in the dark when everyone on the other side was in the sunshine........The Easterners would get sun up first then, so I suppose the Westerners would be up in arms - oh well

Linda, home made chicken soup is not just good for a cold it is pure comfort food..fantastic anytime

Alison, you with a hairy chest, me with the hairy legs...what a team!! I hope that yesterday was not too uncomfortable you.

35 degrees....yikes. I don't mind mid to high 20's but higher than that and I wilt, or wont, as the case may be

It's quite all right Allan,I am a very generous person, so am most willing to share my bugs.

I will pass on the rum toddy Alison, I hate spirits, well apart from vodka, I wouldn't mind some of your heat though, it is definitely autumnal here

Alison

Good Morning SueMaid,

Sounds as though you're having a lovely time researching!

I must away, I think we are getting a tub for the dawg today. The bloke behind us with the stinking greyhounds may have moved out, but the fleas have remained and moved to our place. And I mean the "stinking", literally. It pongs down the back where they were. So, it looks like we are going to have to soak Harry to kill the fleas.

Cheerio everyone! Have a lovely weekend!

Linda I didn't see you. You're probably run-down from all that has gone on over the last while and that has allowed the bug to really take hold. Hope you feel better by Tuesday.

Tec it's our Labour Day weekend. Doesn't make a lot of difference really - all the shops are still open. It's really just the businesses that are closed - banks etc.

Good Morning Sue,

Late nights are are bad for your complexion, and it's no good trying to blame it on OHs ancestors,

Linda, Chicken Soup cures everything - enjoy

Alison, it was 13 deg here today - and wet, gales forecast tomorrow

Tec

Allan

Allan Report 2 Oct 2009 23:04

Tec, a single time-zone would be awkward but we could at least synchronise the holidays...it must cost businesses millions not being able to conduct affairs.

Having said that, much of WA's business is conducted in Asia, so it pays to be closely aligned with that area

Before I go, thank you Allan for asking. Yesterday was fine - apart from making me drink 3 more glasses of water when I got there! The neighbour from across the road was training at the hospital, so she looked after me. It's a little disturbing that she will know my results a couple of weeks before me.

Ciao now!

I am getting cold now as the heating has gone off,so I will love you and leave you, to coin a phrase.

Enjoy the rest of your days/evenings.

Good night Linda,
Have a good night if you can, and I hope you both feel much better tomorrow, take care,

SueMaid Report 2 Oct 2009 23:11

I'll keep that in mind Tec - although I do hope you're not implying that I need my beauty sleep:-))

Alison - I couldn't bear 35degs. I’m glad yesterday went well for you but 3 glasses of water – wow you did well to hold that in:-))

The latest on Jean is that they are not sure where the brain tumour is from as Jean has had a number of cancers and they've all been primary. So they are doing a biopsy to determine where it's from and then the treatment will be decided from there - probably radiotherapy. Jean is apparently in high spirits and the "terrible three" will be visiting on the weekend.
