Lynda........
Might seem a silly question, but how do they define London?

The reason I ask, is that the boundaries of London have changed so much over the past 100 years.

I like to think I'm on top of the world Berona:)

My friend is over in Perth for a month visiting her daughter, I hope Perth's getting some decent weather. I'll have to visit Oz one day, I have quite a few friends there.

Good morning/evening everyone. I see that Lynda has sneaked in again boasting about her London ancestors. Not sure how to stop the riff-raff getting in:-))

Very blowy here although sunny. It's cold:-( Berona our two front rooms - lounge and bedroom - are constantly covered in dust at the moment. We've had to move all the plants on the verandah closer to the house and all hanging baskets are down on the ground. I don't often have to do that. Our daughter has gone to Sydney today to do a 2 day course and I've been quite concerned about her driving up the mountain in this wind. There must be a lot of debris over the road.

Good evening Tec

I must apologise, I'm dashing between threads. I thought that grandfather Mortimer was elusive but my maternal grandfather exists by surname only so I have a thread on Records Office asking for an electoral roll look up for Manchester to see who was at my mother's birth address.

Bl**dy relations. I thought that they were bad enough when alive but even dead they still cause problems:0))

At the moment, Allan, I feel my dead ancestors are preferable to a couple of live ones:-(

Good Morning Sue,

Let's not be rude about our relatives - dead - or alive,

it's not nice.

Berona, think I'll sell the house, and blow it all on lottery tickets,
we could all be cruising next week.

Tec, You;re right boundaries have moved, but I'm lucky in knowing where most of my rellies were born, and they were mostly born in inner London, where it's always been London, if that makes sense.

By the baptisms and marriages, I've found more children of most of my lot, I do all sides of my tree, so I have found loads, I'm extremely lucky:0

Sounds like you're having a happy time Lynda - good for you,

Talking of relatives, I've got four siblings, I'm the eldest, and I have to say, the sanest - which will no doubt, blow your minds about the rest.

Lynda, I too have found loads of OH's rellies - they tended to stay in the Rotherhithe, Bermondsey area. A couple drifted to Shoreditch and Bethnal Green. I've found extra siblings and discounted a couple of siblings that I wasn't happy with to start with. Having a rellie called Horatio Nelson Farmer sure helps with research:-))) I get a little confused with Middlesex and Surrey.

Tec - that's a scary thought. You're not thinking of inviting your siblings on our cruise are you?

Good morning Sue, I was just checking my other thread.

I'm sure that your daughter will be fine.

Lynda I am about 170 kms south of Perth but we generally experience the same type of weather. Yesterday was absolutely brilliant. Mild, very little wind.

The same is forecast for today and tomorrow, which is a Public Holiday in WA, but storms forecast for Tuesday. Just recently though, it has been wet and windy

Allan, I know the weather hasn't been good, my friends SIL is a builder and he hasn't done many full weeks recently, good to know that, at least for now, the weather is fine:)

Sue, Middlesex is an oddity to me too:))

Tec, I have one brother and I certainly would not invite him on a voyage. He is older than I am and I have already printed a sticker for him....."Not Wanted on Voyage"

Sue.......

I am definately not, no way, inviting my siblings on the cruise.
I do after all, have my reputation to uphold.

Actually, I do have a sister, who is absolutley delightful, she is bubbly and full of fun....a lovely lady - I might bring her,

as for the rest, well they can all jump overboard.

Ooh, bring your sister along, Tec. She sounds lovely and would fit in nicely with all the lovely ladies - except Lynda - on here.

Yes ok, I will bring her.....
she is the kind of person who would laugh if the ship was sinking.

Surely, your friend Lynda can't be that bad - she comes across as quite ladylike to me.

Goon night Lynda. Nice to have had you here.

Tec - the eldest usually gets all the brains. I'll go along with that. I have a baby brother I'd like to take on the cruise - and maybe marry him off - he's 65! I gave up on him long ago.

Tecwyn Report 26 Sep 2009 23:49

yes I guessed she was a nice person, and I knew you were winding her up really, but she gets you back.

Incidently, I tried to get that site up today, re your interview.
Managed to get University site, but it said the page I wanted had either been removed or moved.
Is it possible to Fwd it to me via e-mail?
