Hi Janet
We were both pedalling at the same time so two posts at once.

Well it is put out rubbish wheelie bin night tonight and the recycling wheelie bin which is done fortnightly. I will give them a good dusting Berona, plus I will pass on your thoughts to them Allan.

Put me down for waffles - like mine made with buttermilk thanks.

By all

Persey.

Hello, everyone. Re Colin's post - I'm often amazed at how generous people are. Allan's right the good far outweigh the bad - unfortunately we always hear about the bad.

I'm concerned that we haven't heard from Linda or Tec. My thoughts are also with Diane.

Perse: I know where Spike got that description from. His Mum used to live here at Woy Woy, on the NSW Central Coast and he stayed with her often.

My 'reply' box often jumps around after I have typed a few lines, so I took some advice from these boards and downloaded Google Chrome, then used it instead of Internet Explorer and it doesn't jump around any more. Only problem I have with that is that I reduce the screen to 80% in I/E and I can't do that in G.C. I can reduce it - but it gets too small for me to read it!

Hi Allan, thanks for the comment about -up. Perhaps it only applies to a language group in the Perth region. Here, warra- and -gong seem common. As for woiwoi, I suggest that the clue is the doubling of a word indicates an intensifier. It works if woi means water. Lots of water at Woy Woy. Also Wagga- crow, Wagga Wagga (place of) many crows. I haven't got to the bottom of Tumbi Umbi, Kangy Angy or Woolloomooloo. My favorite names are Upper Ferntree Gully near Melbourne and Pitt Town Bottoms, in the Hawkesbury district where my ancestors lived for generations.
What must the English make of all this? They have slightly strange place names, too.
Nice to see Diane, hope we hear from Linda soon, but I think she has her hands full.
Should we worry about Tec? He was having computer problems the other day, but has been gone a while now.

Tecwyn Report 25 Sep 2009 19:26

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

I'm back where I belong.............

I've had the most dreadful experience.
Night before last, I hitched Montgomery the Llama to the buggy, and set off to inspect the perimeter fences - just in case they had been breached by the wretched peasants again.
All was well - so I decided to call in at the local hostelry in the village, for a little liquid refreshment. Overstayed the time that the archaic law allows, but what are laws for? other than to be flouted.
Making my way home, through the darkened mountains, all was well until I reached the Druids Pass. Known to be the haunt of the forcesof evil, I told Montgomery to get a move on.
Suddenly, and without warning, I was set upon by a band of the most feared and evil creatures of the the night - TROLLS - Nasy little green men, with orange hair, rotten teeth, and foul smelling breath. They emerge from Troll Mountain on murky misty nights.
I fought like the very devil, ordering the little varmints to unhandle me, but it was no use, there must have been a hundred of the blighters.
They overpowered me and Montgomery, and dragged me off kicking and screaming into the bowels of Troll Mountain, past the furnaces, past the huge vats of green gunge they spread on the fiels to destroy our crops.
Taken to the Court of the Chief Troll, I stood accused of being a human bean, being kind to children, and old ladies, courteous to my staff, and a generous benefactor to the community.
For these crimes, I was sentenced to hard labour for life, confined to Troll Mountain for the rest of my days.
Montgomery was taken away, to be processed into banana llama burgers.

In the depths of despair, I was being led away to my cell, when suddenly, out of the darkness, my dear friend, Theophilus the Welsh Dragon appeared. He growled and hissed, and breathed fire and brimstone at my captors, who fled before him in terror. Not even a troll is a match for such a dragon as Theophilus. I leapt on his back, and we were soon out of Troll Mountain, into the frest night air that smelt so sweet after that foul place.
Returning home to the Manor, I awoke the Duchess to tell her of my terrible experience at the hands of the evil trolls.
But alas, no sympathy, no compassion whatsoever.
She merely turned over, and yelled........

"Go to bed you old fool - you've been drinking again"

So I did - and here I am - back where I belong.

Regards
Tec.

Tec - I just knew we had reason to be concerned. What an experience!!! Hope all is well now and that the Duchess is being somewhat more sympathetic. If not - then you know you can always come here and we'll believe anything you tell us:-))))

Good Morning Sue, Hope you are well,

Thank you for your concern, and thanks for your kind offer, and I know you would believe anything I tell you - well nearly everything.

OK, back to reality, I was missing because OH has been quite unwell, so I was up for most of two nights, too tired to come on-line. She is much better now, and we both had a reasonable night last night.

Once upon a time I could stay up all night and not feel tired, but not anymore - must be getting old or something.

Tec.

SueMaid Report 25 Sep 2009 22:01

Hi, Tec - I thought as much. I do hope the Duchess is feeling much better - a good night's sleep works wonders.

I'm such an early riser that I don't often have a late night. If I do I find myself waking up at the usual early hour and then I'm exhausted by the afternoon. Of course if I have a nap then I can't sleep that night and so it goes on. I used to be able to go out until late and get up for work or babies without too much trouble.

Good morning/evening all,

Tec I do hope that your OH is now feeling much better. I am not suprised that she had a few bad days if you told her your tale of valour and magic.

there is room for two in my padded cell, you know

Sue, don't mind the ribbing, people are jealous of your celebrity status.

Good morning to Colin
