Hi, Pat - nice to see you made it to this crazy thread:-)) Pat is a Pom and very welcome. I need to do a quick count 'cos I think we're being over-run by the Poms. They're like red dust they get in all the nooks and crannies:-))

This thread's starting to attract some riff-raff:-))

Has anyone seen Allan on other threads? He's very cheeky and a little flirty and I believe he's bringing disrepute to our thread. Mmmm....may have to do something about that.

Big girl's blouse, vagabond and now flirty!!

My slightly shop-soiled reputation takes a further hit!

Thanks, Uzzi..at least someone appreciates me

*goes away to sulk*

Ah, Allan - don't sulk. You know I appreciate you I just have to pull you into line now and then. Anyway "flirty" is kind of nice isn't it?

Sue, in all seriousness I wouldnt do any real flirting; 'tis all in fun.

In any event I would not post anything that I wouldn't want my OH to see.

I stay permanently logged on to this site and my OH is often in the room while I am posting. I have shown her how the site works so she can access my threads any time

I have no doubt about that Allan - and what I say is in fun. You have been nothing but a gentleman and a lot of fun. I do hope I didn't offend you because I certainly didn't mean to.

No Sue, absolutely no offence on your part....sometimes my humour can be a bit 'way out'and subject to misinterpretation.

And now I must go and get ready for another day (well 5 hrs) at the office.

I am now working back at the Shire I left three years ago (Dardanup).

Most of the staff who were there with me are still there: I've spent the last two days chatting with tham all as both they and I catch up....and I'm charging by the hour!!

Hi Allan, what does "-up" mean? And please, not the obvious. So many aboriginal place names in WA seem to end in -up.
But keep your jokes, it is nice to give us all something to laugh out loud about.
Odd time to be posting, but I thought I could use a coffee break.
I have just caught up with some good news about Mary (MaxiMary) near Toronto Canada who I think has two autistic grandchildren. Some of the GR community donated about 500 pounds to her towards the cost of a couple of dogs. Some amazingly good hearted and generous people out there.

Allan Report 25 Sep 2009 07:57

Good afternoon Colin,

'up' is supposed to be the Aboriginal word for water, or place with water.

However, there are many indigenous people who belong to differing regional groupings so that it is difficult to reconcile all their separate languages.

And I totally agree with your comments about good-hearted people: certainly they outnumber the other variety

I liked Spike Milligan's version he said Woiwoi meant High water but he was not sure which woi was high and which woi was water.

My board here is playing up, screen disappears and instead of Aussie site I got sent back to the Home Page. Bit like Monopoly do not pass go, land in Jail (Gaol).

cheers
Perse
