Allan the premium package is 107 pound a year. You can pay it monthly but you save a lot if you pay the annual fee. I think it's well worth it but it does depend on how much research you want to do.

Tec, despite some of the things that go on on the Boards and people criticizing the Hot Matches I have actuall found a distant rellie on here (probably a cousin five times removed...twice by the police!).

My 2x gt grandfather was the cousin of the other party's ancestor

Edit ....Hi Tec:) Yes I;m really happy with what I've found, I have found "extra " children, addresses, and d.ob, so it completes some of the records I had:)

My time away was lovely, lots of walks, fun, bike rides, and pampering, and the weather was good:))

Tec, I've also had loads of success with my Hot Matches. In fact I've just been talking to my 2nd cousin in Leeds who I found through HM's. His grandfather was the brother of my grandad. We met last year for the first time and it was wonderful. I also matched up with Uggers who you may have seen on here. He has an ancestor who married an ancestor of my OH's. I've received and given invaluable information, photos and certificates to many people who I've "met" through this site.

Must go - I've been invited out to morning tea. My daughter feels she needs to thank me for looking after the sick grandkids. I don't need thanking but I'll enjoy the morning.

Went for my weekly long drive yesterday and couldn't pass the fruit market again. The salad vegies I bought two weeks ago are still nice and fresh, so I stocked up again! Once more, I bought more than I can eat, so I'm glad my daughter is coming over to-day and son is bringing his family tomorrow. The lettuce I bought is so big - about the size of a full size soccer ball and hard, tight leaves. I'll need help in getting through it.

Tec - what colour eyes do you have? I need to know so that I can match the wool for your nightcap. Nearly finished Allan's beanie. I'm now on the count-down to the crown. Only a few more colours, perhaps scarlet and bright pink or blue (with the black between, of course) then I'll finish off with a little hole in the centre for his single hair to poke through.

You really make me laugh, Berona. Just the thought of you knitting away at the beanie and night-cap brings a smile to my face:-))

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SUEMAID, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUUU.

Lots of stuff happening since I was last on here, Ancestry successes (SueMaid, what "different" ways did Lynda show you how to search?) + Berona and her huge lettuce, she'll think she's a rabbit soon. Those fresh vegies sound delicious.

The "Stay Beautiful" thing came from a tv show and I think it was Acropolis Now (the Greek show), with Effie etc. Not that I really watched it but I remember that part and Effie saying "How embarrassment."

Linda, I hope you were able to sleep and don't worry about bringing up sad memories, my parents are never far from my mind.

Site is jumping, so I'm going to post a new post (so to speak.)

Back again - the site was good for me for a few days and now it gets the jumps again after a while, so I need to keep things short.

I too, have some funny memories of Mum in hospital, on Morphine. She asked my sister (who was teaching medical receptionist classes), how much did she get for teaching bananas. She also told my sister that she had been on the phone and ordered a new seat for the tractor for herself. Wow - she was tripping!

Hi, Alison - thank you for the birthday wishes:-)) It was Linda who taught me to think laterally. She found OH's great grandfather by looking for the fellow's mother remarrying which she had. Then she looked up great grandad under the new husband's surname and there was the pesky devil. He then - of course - reverted back to his real name when he married. By using this way of thinking I then found OH's maternal great grandmother also using her stepfather's name in 2 census returns before she too reverted back when she married. Of course this only happens when the mother is widowed and remarries but Linda solved two mysteries for me. Linda is very clever at research and helps quite a few people.

Thinking laterally ... I have a few oddities in my extended tree. I am doing an Ancestry tree of all the descendants of my gtx3 grandfather who arrived from Ireland in 1821 courtesy of the then his majesty's government. One descendant is a lady who possibly married Albert Clark then seven years later married Albert Clarke. Ot maybe not. I may have to buy certificates. And she is only my gt-grandfather's sister's daughter. Quite a close rellie, actually.
Re Hot matches, I have mixed feelings. I have been in contact with interesting relatives found through GR but I have had thousands of matches for the various Hodgetts- My ancestor Mary H was born in 1795, had 9 siblings and had 14 children of her own. They populated half of colonial NSW and Tasmania on their own it seems. None of the hundred of hot matches seems to be a descendant of Mary.
My other hot matches include hundreds of Mcdonalds and Macdonalds who were born in the wrong country.

I had a really good tip given to me when I was having trouble finding a marriage on Free BMD's, which as soon as this was pointed out to me.. it not only solved my problem, but was just common sense, really.
I didn't realize if you had both partners in a marriage is all you had to do was match up the reference numbers. (am I dumb or what)
That's how I found my gg grand parents, which was my first real find :-))))

I'm looking forward to the next two weeks as my children will be home from School, some mothers say they hate School hols, I'm the opposite I love them!!!
