Good Morning Allan,

Hope you had a good trip. Shame there is no white rabbit in Harvey.
Feel sorry for the Freisian cow. Apparently, the town of Milton Keynes had a whole herd of concrete Freisian cows in a field besidethe railway track, been there for years. I do wonder about that? I expect they are freisian in the winter months too.
Should you happen to get to the Funny Farm before me, not that it's a contest, I hope you will send reports - if it's any good I might just join you there - I could surrender, before they come for me.

regards
Tec.

Good Evening Tec

did they have a set of concrete milkmaids to go with them?

That's going one better than concrete gnomes! One day I'll tell you about one of the tourist attractions in the Ferguson Valley, a most delightful area, called Gnomesville.

No concrete milkmaids I'm afraid,

Gnomes........Gnomesville sounds interesting.
I don't have, nor have ever owned a gnome, curiously my daughter presented me with quite an expensive book a couple of years ago, all about the history of the Gnome... I never figured out why?

Have your children ever bought you anything strange?

Tec

Allan Report 16 Sep 2009 23:19

They have no need to, Tec; they take after me.....they are strange!

Although my daughter did buy me two frog games for kids for a recent Birthday, and I have a collection of concrete frogs in the garden.

This stems from an incident about 10 years ago when a disgruntled member of my staff said that I had all the managerial capability of a frog....needless to say he was sacked, but secretly I quite liked the expression. Shortly thereafter I saw a tie with a frog motif and a pair of socks with a frog-face on them. I purchased them and wore them as a part on my managerial clobber

It only took me one hour to boot up (twice) and another ten minutes to catch up on the post - but here I am - and in a bad mood. Started out as a good mood but the 'puter changed it! Please make me laugh again.

As far as who is ready for the Funny Farm goes - I thought this WAS the Funny Farm!? Or is that what we are being conned into staffing - under the guise of Tec's palatial estate?

Allan the beanie is coming along nicely. I've done the orange and emerald green stripes with just a thin black one between them - and it looks really nice. Starting on the purple stripe next.

Tecwyn Report 16 Sep 2009 23:30

Frogs I wouldn't mind - I rather like frogs. We have a newsreader here, David Dimbleby, who wears a magnificent frog tie that I am quite envious of. I never see them anywhere - so when you've finished with yours ?

You were fortunate to have merely been insulted by yourmember of staff.
One of mine once tried to knife me with a nasty looking flick knife, he was also sacked.
Managerial positions do have their high spots.

Good morning/evening everyone:))

I'm late this morning - I had a good sleep-in and feeling better for it. You two don't seem to have missed me:(

Tec, I love Conwy - the castle is beautiful and so is the town. We have many photos to remind us of what a lovely day we spent there.

Linda, hang in there. Although we all deal with what life sends us differently I can still imagine what you're going through as I imagine we all can. Please take care of yourself and remember we are all thinking of you.

Good Morning, Berona,

The beanie sounds very colourful and will match my blue nose and blood-shot eyes

Tec, I suppose that your member of staff thought that he was making the ultimate cutting remark!

Good Morning Berona,
Sorry that your 'puter is giving you grief - give it a good hard kick, but not with those diamonte dancing shoes on.
Yes - you've rumbled me - quite the Miss Marple. My palatial pile is actually the Funny Farm, and I'm on here looking to see who is nutty enough to fill it, doing quite well so far, wouldn't you say?

Tec.

Good morning, Berona - I'm sure this is the Funny Farm:-)

Allan, I meant to mention that I have a large collection of frogs and birds - too large OH would say:-) Most of them are in the house and made of everything from glass and porcelain to pewter. I've had to stop people from giving me more - especially my mum who has an avid eye and will pick up all manner of ornaments for me.

Linda - I'm thinking of you. It brings back the time when I sat beside my hubby's bed twice each day, racing home and back again, to be there if he awoke. He slept quite a lot and that's when I did most of my crying. He could have died in agony, but the drugs gave him peace. Used this way, they can be wonderful, although they might hasten the end a little, it is worth it to see them in no pain. I have to admit that I felt a certain amount of relief when it was all over, to know there would be no more pain, and I had done so much crying, that I seemed to have a clearer mind.

Yes, you can count your blessing that you have had your parents for as long as you have, but whatever the age, it still hurts to lose them. Try to look on the bright side - you have your entire lifetime of lovely memories - and you are with her. I'm sure she appreciates that you are there, even if she can't say she does. Hold her hand and you will feel that she can hear you, even when she appears to be sleeping.

Good Morning Sue,
Pleased you feel better for your extra rest. Yes, Conwy is beautiful, I like to wander about the little harbour. On the way back we called in at Betws-y- Coed, another nice little spot, have you been there?

Tec.

Allan

Allan Report 16 Sep 2009 23:51

Tec, Sue

I too love Conwy and the whole of North Wales....many happy memories of whay seems, from this distance, idyllic holidays and days out. I recall the Swallow falls at Betws-y-Coed. Also I remember the Liverpool Arms on the quayside in Conwy. Plas Mawr (spelling) the haunted Elizebethan Manor House near the Town centre.

Tec, Betws-y- Coed is a beautiful place. We drove down through the mountains and stopped there to have a cuppa. 2 hours later and running late to meet a member of GR in High Wycombe we started back on our way into England. We did make it on time by not stopping for lunch - we ate fruit while driving:-))

Allan,
I can see you know North Wales very well. Your spelling of Plas Mawr is spot on - it translates to roughly Big Palace
Plas, being palace and Mawr being big, large,

Should you wish to call someone "Bighead" and get away with it,
call them "Pen Mawr"

Pen, being head, and Mawr, being Big

Tec.

Thanks Tec,

I'll try that big head phrase out...but first I will make sure the recipient doesn't speak Welsh!
