One of my ancestors - James Pearsey- is recorded on the 1851 census as being an agricultural labourer and a chelsea pensioner. he was born in 1797 and in 1826 had his first son so i was wondering how he could have been and agricultural labourer with a family and be a chelsea pensioner? any help would be appreciated.
