Morning All Goodnress am I the first one on duty? Good to see you back Daff. Hope all goes well for you this week.
I did some marching this weekend at the coast in Worthing. But also made good use of our free weekend to exercise my jaw with lots of chat, a little eating and even less drinking. But had a good time.
The uniform is ready for inspection.
But off training this morning early. Have to try local routes to Reading for hubby as he has jury service coming up and not wise to use the car(too expensive on parking)
Don't do too much anyone
Linda :O) XxX

Morning, Daff.
Hope you had a good weekend.
I have a letter from the doc saying I'm excused orange. Really I have. Honestly.
He just writes a bit like me.

Morning Daff and everyone
Sorry I haven’t been around much but have been busy, busy, busy
Cleaned out the mess room (a disgrace), made the beds, checked all uniforms and ironed them where necessary, polished buttons and boots, sewed some more sequines on headbands and armbands, cleared out all the lockers, brushed off the cowboy hats, fluffed up the slippers, checked the latrines (a lovely job Mau), picked up the chocolate and crisp wrappers from the parade ground and cooked today’s porridge. I’m now off to work for a rest. I'm considering changing my screen name to WonderWoman (what do you all think?)
So, we’re all set and ready for inspection Ma’am.
Hope you had a good weekend Daff

Morning all, Hope you slept well in your own bed Daff. Couldn't believe it this morning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! phone rang at 7.40am, our local bobbie saying he was outside our flat and could he come in to talk to us about the window incident, excuse me you've just got me out of bed and no you can't come in, next the door bell rang , same bobbie who rang.......oh sorry he said ,was he at the wrong door as my neighbour also had one of her windows done also and he was going to talk to her, funny she wasn't in and no your not coming in at this time of the morning.lol. Just makes me cross that they couldn't come out on the night and pick up the plastic bollard that was used as l'm sure they could have got some finger prints off it. Rant over, lol. Daff hope all goes well with you this week, ~~~~~~ to the army. x

Good morning all, You have been busy busy Beverley. Starving at the moment as I have to go for cholestrol blood test in an hour so no food until afterwards.
Good to see you back OK Daff, hope you had a lovely weekend.
I'll tell you what, it takes for ever to climb into all this uniform!!
Oh yea a likely story Gwynne!!
|
Erm Mummo, I hope you didn't tell him where he could put the bollard!!! Did I thank you for your lovely card by the way. I am confused now as to who I did and didn't thank. Thank you anyway, it was very much appreciated.

Morning our Daff. Hope you had a lovely weekend, but I know what you mean about getting back in you own bed. It is bliss isn't it. Not been arou ng this thread this weekend. Apart from duties on the domestic front at home, blanching pounds and pounds of green beans for the freezer, I have been helpint an Australian lady with her tree. And, would you believe it, supporting Mel on her thread on Chat. But, I will be thinking of you this week, and keeping my fingers doubley crossed. Ann in Glos., you have my every sympathy this morning with you glucose tolerence test. Been there, done that, and got the tee-shirt, as they say. What I do, is take a slice of cold toast, suitably wrapped, in my handbag, and one of those cartons of a milky drink, and as soon as the blood lady has given me the all clear, I dash to the car park and start feasting. Can't wait until I get home. It is abit of a joke with our blood lady. I'm sure I am due for one soon. Take care all you ladies, off to sort out the washing, and yes you have guessed it, more green beans. Love to all Julia in Derbyshire

Good morning everyone... beautiful, clear, sunny and with just the very slightest little bit of crispness to the air... lovely... I love Autumn mornings better than any other type of morning, I think.
*inspects kit, latrines, stores, and sick notes*
Perfick!! Well, almost... Gwynne, you must send your doc to doctor's handwriting lessons... this is far too neat and legible. She really must try harder, you know. *huge grin*
All your bums look fabulous.... oh, and those on remedials, I have stocked up the paracetamol cupboard, and there is a compulsory bacon and runny egg sarnie for you all.... you'll soon feel better.
Those who have spent their leisure time swearing, tsk.... back to hard graft this week I am afraid.....
After all the whin... erm, I mean constructive criticism last week about the manoovers, I have decided that we all need extra training... your instrectress for the first part is BC... the theme is...
*how to get a seat on a packed bus, tube, train or other type of public transport*
Please be very careful, and feel free to add your own suggestions. Remember that this is part of your life management and defence skills test, so will be included in your skills portfolio. It is also a *live ammunition* manoover, so protective apparell may be worn as well as or instead of your uniforms. Some glitter is, however, compulsory.
I had a wonderful couple of days... we got take-aways for every meal (adults) and some meals (children) but where we cooked for the children, we did their favourites. So there was a real hotchpotch, and it was nearly all bad for you and unhealthy, lol... they thought it was wonderful!!
We didn't go to the beach... we did go to Lytham park, where the kids had a wonderful time, the three *boys* played football and the girls swung, hung and jumped on all the apparatus. We had icecream, then icelollies, then stopped off for hot dogs as well.
We watched their swimming lesson... Princess Twinkletoes (aged 5 and three months) did a lot of *firsts, and we are so proud of her. She started her lessons in April, and until a couple of weeks ago still refused to put her face under the water. On Saturday she completed 15 metres without floats, on her back, and then..... she retrieved rings and barbells from the bottom of the pool, no problems!! And she had to put her face under the water for that, of course ;¬)) Her *stepbrother* is 6 and 5 months, and still can't quite manage that. She crowed for Britain, lol, so there was a bit of bickering but then it was all over, and back to being bezzy mates, lol. He never ever stops... and is smiling even when he is cross... he has those lovely smiley eyes. Anyway, he is now *Action Man*, I am definitely Granny Daff, and R is *Gramps*. My son is *Baby Boy* which the children find hilarious. They are busy thinking of what to call our newly declared DiL, so next time we speak, there will be a name for her.
And our new 11 year old granddaughter? She is just her own name, but said with awe and sparkles and up in lights, as she is very talented and musical... sort of like the top stars just have their own name... Beyonce, Britney, Sinnitta, Elvis... She does have the most amazing deep blue eyes... but didn't want to be Baby Blue Eyes.
They are now a fully declared family... Princess refers to Action Man and Tee as her brother and sister. R and I are very proud to have them as grandchildren. Action Man is particularly thrilled that he is our only grandson, so is special. He has a grandfather on his dad's side, but not a happy relationship, and has lots of male cousins who are spoilt and bought gifts for, in front of him, whilst he is left out. He is just 6 fgs, how can people be so wicked.
He had me in hysterics when he said, quite seriously, and you can tell me off when I am naughty, if you like, too!
It was so good to see my own baby looking so happy and relaxed, and so in love with his new family. A is a lovely girl, with a strong personality, very caring and sound common sense. Princess absolutely adores her, too.
I love happy endings.
We then popped in to see (well, we were summonsed, actually, lol) ex DiL, who we still adore in spite of all that has gone on, and who still calls us mum and dad. We have known her and her twin since they were 16, and went to twins very posh wedding in Cumbria 2 years ago. Twin was there as well, so we spent an hour with them before starting the journey home.
More to follow....... in fact *back to the beginning* lolol! But I had exceeded the limit for numbers with my little saga. *rolls eyes*
Love
Daff xxxxxx

Home again now. I think nurse Beryl left me some blood, she said there was sufficient in my other arm Lol!!!! Just had a slice of toast with Pnut butter and a milky coffee. I did buy a milky way in case the pangs of hunger overcame me while walking home but didn't need it. Back again in 2 weeks for results and urine test.

Good to hear the weekend was such a success Daff. All those 'e' numbers would have done you all the world of good lol.
Now for manoovers
*how to get a seat on a packed bus, tube, train or other type of public transport* - easy peasy - threaten to shoot everyone else on the bus/tube/train with our purple water pistols (didn't we mention those???) and they'll soon give up their seats for you.

Welcome back Daff and so glad you had a lovely time. Now,regarding our challenge and,as Hayley and TW will testify,I am ..*blushes slightly*...something of an expert at this......
l. Adopt a ferocious scowl or
lb. Adopt a whingey, pathetic look like you are about to faint or throw up. . (I favour the first)
2. Eat curry for breakfast and breathe heavily on everyone.
3. Carry empty Baileys bottles (drain well first) in shopping bag so as you strap hang the bag accidentally clobbers any sitting male knee.(this is a good one and fun to watch)
4. Stare unblinking at sitting male and watch em squirm.
5. Start muttering under your breath whilst breathing fast and rolling eyes. If you can add a slight tic, this always works.
I think this enough to get on with. There are loads more:-))).
Catch you later....BCXX
.
. .
.

Off to practice rolling eyes, breathing fast and developing a tic!

Glad you had a lovely time Daff and that you have lovely new grandchildren to wax lyrical over. How unkind are that family to treat a little one like that we can't even leave our neighbours little ones out if they are playing in the garden with our youngsters. sweets, ices and lollies they are all given the same.
I like option 4 BC I am quite good at giving a 'look' lol
Good to know you have blood left in one arm Ann perhaps a couple of glasses of 'ribena' will get the blood flowing around.
Back later Ginniexx.
