Coooeee my lovely friends. Thank you all so much for the beautiful cards, I am such a lucky person having so many clever friends who are capable of doing such fantastic, clever things.
I am so grateful to you all, for your kind wishes for my birthday as well.
It has been a lovely day, topped of by a great meal this evening. The weather has not been very kind though, I didn't think we could have the quantity of rain we have had, over the last couple of weeks.
I have been spoilt rotten by the family, so many flowers, pyjamas, slippers, and bath and body products.
Fortunately the family had the sense not to buy me any chocolates, or I would have only have had to eat them wouldn't I, I couldn't have had them going out of date now could I. lol ;-) ;-) ;-)

Jean, you would have been proud of me last night honey. Despite the fact that we drew, I got the three finishes, to allow us the draw, AND, I was top average yippee.
We did win the pairs though, so if you placed your bet, you should be able to get some money back, even if it is only a couple of pounds....so the drinks are on you my big friend, as you look down, I look up to you. :-D :-D :-D

Sending my love to each and everyone of you, Mo xxx

Happy birthday Mo, have a lovely day and a nice meal this evening. Hope it is not as wet there as it is here.

Sallie hope you enjoy the Ebosser. Let us know how you get on.
I too wish I took a size 4, my Mum did but she was smaller than me. I was lucky 2 weeks ago, went to the M&S outlet and got a pair of 5½ ankle boots in footglove for £35 instead of fifty something but normally my size is missing from sale shelves. I have a wide foot.
Enjoy your day at Richard's.

Huia, sorry you are feeling sleepy, have you been to the Doc, doesn't seem normal for you. Hope the sinus clears soon too.

Good morning Jean~~~~~~ :-) :-) <3

Huia Report 21 Oct 2013 21:15

Hello all. I have been reading the thread but not commenting. I have just felt so sleepy over the past few weeks.

The tooth I had out about 3 weeks ago has left me with aching sinuses but I hope they will settle down soon. It was a top back tooth and it had 3 roots which were very close to the sinus cavity. Now that those roots are gone I think my hearing is slightly better in the ear on that side!

I am going to town today to do a little shopping, and pay bills and relicence my vehicle. Tomorrow I will visit Phil and on Thursday I am going to Hamilton to see my 2 gt grandsons again, taking the other gt grandmother with me.

I think I will have a nap on the settee before I go anywhere as I didn't sleep so well last night. :-\ That is a sleepy look.

Sallie Report 21 Oct 2013 20:58

Ann, more often than not it's a blinking nuisance trying to buy shoes..... just wish I was a size 4 at least, then I don't think I would have any problems. Each time I ask for a 3, the usual response is ' no sorry, we have a size 4,if that's any good' lol!! I would be able to walk out of them. Another problem is that I don't have a very wide foot, and even if there is a 3 it is mostly a wide fitting.
Still I mustn't complain, one of my cousin's only takes a size 2....if she finds her size she will usually buy two pairs at the same time.

Mo, I've posted your card, so hope you will get it tomorrow morning. Both you and Roly enjoy your meal out tomorrow evening.
Good luck with the darts match tonight, hope you and your team will win.

Sylvia, thank you for the information. I am a 'born worrier' that's my trouble and won't relax until Alun has seen our doctor on the 28th of the month.

Jean. I have treated myself to the eBosser, didn't really want to get one as I like and am happy with the GC, but if I use it for a good while I have problems with my right shoulder. I sent for it early hours of Friday morning and it arrived at eight o clock on Saturday morning......didn't expect it until at least Monday.
I haven't used it yet, I don't seem to have had the time.lol!! I'm going to try it after I have finished posting on here....just hope it will be okay.lol!!

Like you, I mostly use the gel glue now and use a tooth pick to put on the smaller and most delicate pieces.

Alun is on holiday this week, so we are going down to Richard's on Thursday. We are only going for the day as Jennie fancied the day out but doesn't want to stay, so she is going to do half of the driving. I just hope that the weather won't be too bad.

Mo, I almost forgot, congratulations to both you and Roly on going to become grandparents again.

It's a while since we heard from Huia, I hope she is alright.

Well, I'm going to try the new machine now, so will speak to you all tomorrow, especially to the Birthday Girl.

Take care.

Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie.xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone

the weather is miserable here ..................... we've had fog all day every day since last Friday.

It might lift early this afternoon, and we MIGHT see some sun.

Sallie ................... there's no worries about this patch on OH's ear getting worse. A basal cell carcinoma is in the very outer layers of the skin, and scraping it off gets it all. Otherwise, the dermatologist himself would have contacted OH, and if not, the GP would have sent OH back to him or the Cancer Agency pronto.

Ann will tell you the same thing.

We just need to get it to scab over and heal!

Mo ........................ just in case I don't get back

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TOMORROW

I hope you have a lovely day.

take care everyone

Hello my little crafting friends, it's good to hear how you do your cards. Give me a bit of sticky black plastic, and I am happy for hours on end. Or come to that fuzzy felt, with lilly is a lovely pastime, and she does enjoy it, now she knows it's not for eating. But getting her to draw within the lines on our colouring book, is a no no.

Talking of christmas presents, we have got to go to Ar*os tomorrow. At long last our grandaughter has decided what she would like for baby Zoey..she has even gone to the trouble of telling us the catalogue number, just in case us silly old duffers get the wrong thing. LOL

I have got one card in this mornings post, but Roly has hidden it so that I can't open it till tomorrow, so it will be a lovely surprise for me.
We are going out for a meal tomorrow evening, just the two of us, and then on Saturday we are out for a meal with the family, with most people working during the week, the weekends are best for everyone.

Shush, don't tell Jean, but we have got darts tonight, I hope she hasn't placed her bet just yet, just in case we lose, I would hate for her to lose her pennies again.
Bye for now my lovely friends, take care, hugs Mo xxx

I usually buy it on line but you can get it in craft shops,

AnninGlos Report 21 Oct 2013 11:34

Right must get some, where do you get it? Going to copy this onto the craft thread too.

JustJean

JustJean Report 21 Oct 2013 11:29

I use it as glue spread it out or instead of pads to lift up toppers ect: I love it, its useful for fixing all manner of craft stuff example gems , flowers, matting with the delicate backing ones, wouldnt be without it....use a tooth pick and you can put tiny blobs on the delicate stuff....

AnninGlos Report 21 Oct 2013 11:20

Good morning from a wet Gloucester.

Jean, at least you got some sweaters so didn't go home empty handed. If you don't need any craft stuff what are you doing looking on line Lol!!! What do you use the pin flair gel glue for if you can't be without it?

Sallie. What a pity you didn't get anything for you in the shopping centre. It is s*d's law isn't it that every time I see shoes in the sale that I like they are a size 3 and I take a 5/5½. What dainty feet you have.
I have most of the presents now, just son's family and T's to get but as we are going to son's for Christmas there isn't too much hurry with them and I am waiting for their lists!!
I like apples but pears give me stomach ache as do oranges. Although I can eat tinned pears.

Mo I hope my card gets to you on time too. Anything planned for the day?

Better get on, got a bedroom to dust!!

Hello girls,

Jean, sorry that you and J were disappointed with your holiday, it’s a shame that you could not have got in to your usual place......I’m sure that both of you are glad to be back in your own home. You really did well not going to the craft shop.lol!!
Alun and I went to Derby on Friday, and believe it, or not, I didn’t go into any of the craft shops either.lol!!! Alun was very sarcastic, he asked me if I was feeling okay, he thought that I might have been feeling poorly.lol!!

Glad that you managed to get some tops that you liked. I find that the same sizes can vary from store to store, I feel sure that that wasn’t the case in the past.

Mo, hope you and J had a good day with Lilly and that both of you are too exhausted.lol!! How did your darts match go on Thursday night? Hope you and your team had another win.

Did you get the new radiators fitted? Hope that they didn’t find any problems while they were being fitted.
I’m pleased to know that I am not the only one that seems to feel the cold more....... can’t seem to get my feet and the back of my legs warm some evenings.

Alun, Jennie, Michael and myself went to MacArthur Glen after lunch today, it’s just one jct. up the MI from where J and M live......it’s a retail park selling designer clothes...Alun bought himself some shoes and Jennie got some shoes and a top and Michael some trainers, jeans and a top, so they all did well. I tried to get some shoes, but couldn’t get some that I liked in my size, I only take a size 3 and am finding more and more stores start with size 4.

Thanks for letting us know about Marie, hope the move goes well for her.

Ann, sounds that both you and T had a good day out at the Arboretum and the garden centre. Gosh that was a lot for a scone......we usually pay about £1.65
It was good that you managed to get a bag of apples......hope that they were nice. Alun likes apples, I much prefer pears.....although I like cooked apples.
Have you almost finished buying your Christmas presents yet? I only have a few left to get, not sure what to buy for the ones I have left.

Hope all goes well for you at the hospital next week.

Sylvia, good to know that you and OH had a good week with your daughter and grandson....I’m sure you seen a difference in him since the last time you saw him.

Pleased to hear that your leg is healing nicely. It seems a long time for your OH to have to wait to see the Dermatologist .......let’s hope his ear will not get any worse.
Hope that your sister-in-law arrived safely and was able to spend some time with you both.

Huia, I hope all is well with you and your family...... I expect you are busy in the shop now.

Well girls I’m off to bed now, so hope to speak to you soon.

Take care, everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Ann, I just didnt think about it, I have plenty to use at home, in fact we only went in one shop, B/M I needed to get some sweaters and our branch closed down ages ago, so I got three tops usual size or so I thought, when we got back to the apartment I tried them on two were miles to big , so back to the shop, the assistant said they had altered the the sizes, what was xl size 24 is now 24/26 more 26 than 24. so I swapped them for the next size down that is now 22/20 , bit of a tighter fit !! still I will be able to wear them....why try and fix something thats not broke I ask myself :-S :-S

whoops our meal is ready ,curry so will chat later ...

Welcome back Jean.

What on earth is a holiday place doing having a 50p meter? that is absolutely ridiculous. If you are asked to give feedback I would point out the inconvenience of having to get 50ps. How long did 50p last? That indicated to me that the electricity charge is loaded. So I shan't be asking you for the address then. Cold floors too, not nice. Sorry you were disappointed. But why didn't you get to the craft shop?

Anyway I am sure it was nice to eat out which gave you and Jeff a break from cooking.

Sylvia, I hope your SIL managed to get her flight o.k, and that the blessed fog has now lifted in your area.
Global warming has a lot to answer to, hasn't it. It has taken us back to the early years, when we had that awful smog that used to just drop down out of nowhere.
It's pleasing news that your leg is healing properly now, and only needs a plaster.

Ann, you can't hide yourself away from the sun all the time, can you love. And sunscreen, does help a lot, just think how people were unable to have use of it back in the good old days, and got burn't to a crisp, shows how much we have learnt over the years.

Oh Jean, what a shame that your holiday didn't work out as well as you had hoped.
Theres nothing worse than having a freezing cold bedroom, when you wake up after a good nights sleep, you really don't want to get out from under the nice warm covers do you. But now you have sucked it and seen, and won't return again will you my love.
I really can't believe that you never managed to get to a craft shop, thats not like you at all is it sweetie. I bet you had withdrawal symptoms LOL ;-) ;-) ;-)
Now it's catch up with the washing time isn't it. I do hope you get some decent drying weather, or the tumble dryer will have to be used.

I had an E.Mail from Marie. She moves on the 26th of this month, and is up to her eye balls with everything that has to be done, bless her.
I hope everything goes well for her, and that she enjoys her new home.

Time for dinner now, so cheerio for now, love and hugs to you all. Mo xxx

Hi everyone, back home again , cant say I am sorry either, the new place wa snicely fitted the lady had only just taken over , the bad points it was a cold place there were big slate tiles everywhere and it was so cold in the bedroom you darent put your bare feet on it !!! once in bed it was o.k. the other bad point was it had a 50p meter :-0
so it was a good job the weather wasnt cold , we had one really wet day, J sat out in the small garden on two days . I stayed in , oh and every door was fire doors so had the thing that made them shut with a bang everytime. drove us mad, we did eat out every day, so that was o.k. but wont be going back....
And would you believe it I never went near the craft shop, not once.....
we are starting to think we prefer to stay home, and just do short breaks ....

I will catch up with the goings on later.
