Actually, he started it this afternoon and decided to use a brush because the anaglypta pattern is quite deep. He got the landing walls finished anyway.

Ann, we use the paint pads, oh so simple. And when we do the stairs and landing, we insert a broom handle into the base of the pad ,to extend it so that it reaches to the top of the landing.
Not an easy job at the best of times, but so satisfying when it's done.
After christmas is over, we will have the carpet cleaning man in to do through downstairs.
It's a waste of time to do it before than, as we are having the family round, and the great grandchildren are at the messy eating stage, where it's one spoonful in the mouth, and one spoonful for the carpet. LOL
Well girls, we have had yet another wet day, I am getting pretty good on my webbed feet now,but the splayed toes are a bit painful still.
Have a good weekend everyone. Hugs to all, Mo

Glad you have yours finished Mo. It will be mainly T doing the painting as he will do it with the roller. Not sure yet how he will get up the stair wall, something else that was easier when he was younger. I will just be tea girl and gofer.

today we took our friend for coffee then went home and had lunch then did the Tesco shop at our new smaller Tesco just round the corner. Came home, had a cup of tea and he has spent the last hour cleaning the lounge carpte assuring me it won't get too wet. I do hope it won't as that is where we sit. :-)

Ann, our painting is all done now thank goodness. Talk about an exhausting job. It seemed to take us no time at all, when we were younger, but now, we do a bit, then have a cuppa, and then get back to it.
The sitting down for a lovely cuppa is a real help, and a couple of biscuits gives us the extra energy to go on.
I am lucky in as much as the bathroom is tiled from floor to ceiling, and only needs a good clean down.
We have got the paint for the kitchen, but I think a couple of days rest is now needed.
Good luck with your painting, I will think about you on Saturday, when I have got Lilly to contend with for the day.
Time for dinner...a nice steak, with roast potato's and veg, yummy I need it.
Speak to you tomorrow. Hugs to all, Mo xxx

Well Mo, we went to B&Q and bought paint for hall, stairs and landing walls, probably will get done Saturday then when we got home T shampooed the bathroom carpet down in the conservatory and then painted the white woodwork in the bathroom. You never know what will evolve when you plan new carpets for stairs and bedroom. I made six cards. Then I cleaned all the stuff, set of drawers, shelf, bin, scales etc before putting it all back on the clean carpet.
Might think about doing the bathroom walls next.

Hello my lovelies,
Phew, Jean will be proud of me, my paint brushes have come out of hybernation.
Today we have painted the living room, and tomorrow we are doing the dining room.
Don't faint with shock Jean, as we might even give the kitchen a quick lick of paint as well.
Once again we have had a wet miserable day, thank goodness we decided to stay in today, in the dry and warm, even though we have worked like trojans.

I do hope that everyone is well. I send you all my very best wishes, hugs Mo xxx

Sylvia, it appears our weather is following your pattern. Tonight it is blowing a gale, and it's been raining on and off all day.
They have forecast the same type of weather that we had last week, for this weekend and into next week.
It was horrendous, and we don't need to go through it again.
Our front drive is covered in leaves as well, but we haven't managed to get out and sweep them up just yet.
I wouldn't mind but, we don't have any trees in our garden at all, they all come from neighbours gardens.
I do hope it has cleared by the time you have to go out this evening. Enjoy yourself Sylvia.
Bye for now, speak to you soon.

Hi Mo,and everyone

Mo .......... what a nuisance!

I sometimes think these "new-fangled" things are more trouble than they are worth!!!! :-)

We have been under a Heavy Rain Warning since yesterday evening, and ti will continue until this evening. It's pouring!!

It is not helped by the fact that the trees have lost almost all their leaves suddenly over the last few days, and people just have not been able to keep up with clearing them away. So gutters and drains are blocked!

It was like a fast running "creek" down the street gutter alongside the coffee shop this morning!

We also have to go out this evening, so hope it has eased off by then!!

I have an appointment to see the dermatologist on December 18 .......... and yes, it is with my preferred person. The clinic I go to is very good about that kind of thing.

take care everyone

Stay indoors in the warm Jean, I don't want to hear you have been knocked out by a giant hailstone my love.
I hope you are feeling a little better now honey.
Just what we didn't need at this time of year, our car is off the road. Roly thinks it to do with the power steering, but our son in law will check it over for us tomorrow, so that when we put it in for repair we know what we are on about.
Must go now, the dancing is on soon, and I don't want to miss it.
Take care everyone, love and hugs, Mo

We were lucky with the trick or treaters last night Sylvia. There was only one ring on the doorbell before I went out, and I ignored it.
Normally I have treats in for the children, but last year no one came, so this year I didn't bother to buy any, and lo and behold, one rang, so rather than face a little one with no treats to hand, I ignored them.
I have to admit, I did feel guilty, but I don't like to give money to children, and that I could have done easily enough, but it could be misconstrued by some parents couldn't it.
Most of the youngsters who used to knock, are now that much older, 17/18 and can't be bothered with what they consider as below them. lol
Sorry to hear of your carcinoma, but thank god it was found when it was, and can now be sorted for you my love.
To be honest Sylvia, I firmly believe that my friend Florence is under the impression that the radiotherapy will completely get rid of her problem. But being realistic, I think she is in for a shock, bless her. But we will support her, through it all. Thats what true friends are for.

Would anyone like a cold....I am giving it away free to anyone who would like it. lol
I would like to get hold of the person who gave it to me, but not to thank them, believe you me.

Well my little loves, I will say cheerio for now, hope to speak to you all over the weekend. Love and hugs Mo xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone

a grey drizzly day today.

we didn't have Hallowe'en at this house ............... OH had to go out, and I don't like doing it on my own ................ I find it a bit difficult to keep getting up to answer the door, and find it painful to stay standing for long periods.

So, we turned off all lights outside and in the front rooms. Plus had only a few lights on at the back of the house. I have heard very little noise of kids outside .......... we are a corner house, so get them coming along 2 streets. I think the weather may have deterred a lot of kids. I have heard lots of fire crackers going off somewhere in the neighbourhood!

had my flu shot this afternoon at the doc's .................

................... and got the report on the biopsy he did 2 weeks ago.

Not such good news, yet not very bad news!

It shows that the "thingy" is a squamous cell carcinoma, so I have to be referred to a dermatologist to have it all removed.

They think it will be able to be cut out in the dermatologist's office.

Squamous cell carcinoma is a cancer of the outermost cells of the skin, usually as a result of sun exposure. It is easily treatable, as long as it is not ignored and left for years.

I've asked to be referred to the same dermatologist that OH goes to for treatment of his basal cell cancers .............. OH likes him a lot.

He's a Welshman!

It's the second squamous one I've had. The last one was smaller (and looked different!), and was completely removed by the doctor so I didn't have to go to a dermatologist, just watch my skin for other "possibles".

Mo ................ good luck to your friend with her radiology.

It's often used to reduce the size of tumours before further treatment.

Take care everyone

Hello girls, I hope you are all keeping well today, and that our little friend Jean has either seen the doctor, or has been getting some well deserved rest.

Good luck Sylvia with the results my friend, and I hope you don't get any side affects from the flu jab, I had a sore arm for a couple of days but that was all.

Today my friend Florence is at the oncology department, having her mask made for radiotherapy. Bless her, the specialists she saw earlier in the week, are going down this path first, as the cancerous growth has got so big in her nose, that they think surgery would need to be drastic, so they are trying to shrink it first.

We have had to put the heating on today, as it's turned really cold, and I seem to be starting another cold and feeling under the weather. Why oh why do I always get these darned colds as soon as the weather changes.

Must go now girls, speak to you tomorrow. Hugs Mo xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone

I'm so glad to hear that none of you had problems with the weather!

Jean .............. hope the vertigo gets better soon, and that your headache gets better.

we are at the end of our good weather ......... 3 weeks of no rain, although there was a lot of fog! ...................... now the rain started about an hour ago :-( :-(

I have to go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) ............. to get the result of the biopsy, plus my flu shot.

I'm not that worried about the biopsy ............. they haven't phoned me to get into the office ASAP, which is what they do if there has been a positive result!

take care everyone

Hi ladies,
Oh what a lovely day I have had with Lilly. It was just the two of us, as Roly had to do a job at our daughters house.
We had a great time, playing noisy games, with no grandad here to complain about the noise, we let our hair down.
Goodness knows how many visits we made to the loo, but thank goodness she is using it again. She went back to doing everything in her nappy for a while, but as we have had her more frequently, with a little patience she is getting back into the good habits.
I am exhausted now, but it's been such a lovely day, and so worth while.

Jean, I am sorry to hear that your balance is going again love. Is your blood pressure o.k honey, as that can make you feel the way you are.

Sallie, I am pleased to report that the fire is in, and working lovely. Looking at the flames alone make you feel warmer, without having the heat working on it.
I have to admit that I was dreading having to wait for it to be finished, but Roly surpassed himself, and got on with it pretty quickly.

Ann, I know you would love to have Luke closer to you. I bet he would be spoilt with loads of love and attention from you both. How anyone could harm a child, is way beyond my comprehension I'm afraid. They don't ask to be born, and are a blessing to be grateful for, not abused the way some are.

Well my lovelies, it's time for bed, so I will say goodnight, god bless. Love Mo xxx

Hi All, Jean I replied to you on the craft thread re your vertigo. I hope it doesn't last long. Maybe it is a form of migraine this time if it is different. I have just spent an hour making my sister's card, I like to make one a bit special and just realised it need to be posted in the next few days to Turkey. She likes Art Deco so I have used one of the ladies and made it Christmassy, quite pleased with it. Must remember to take a photo of it too.

Sallie, yes we are fine thnaks, we have the weekly shop to look forward to tomorrow. At l;east I get a rest from cooking tonight as T will do a fry up for us. :-) :-)

Mo, hope you enjoyed your day with Lilly. wish we were near enough to have Luke. :-(
