Hi girls, just to let you know that I have not forgotten you all. Lots to do here, our friends are moving next week so we have been helping them to decorate their new place.....on top of that Jennie and Michael are also moving into their new place, and hoping to move in next week too.

As you can all imagine it's all a mad rush, trying to help them all and trying to get all the cards and pressies ready to take down to my brother's in S Wales on Friday.
Also having to take cards and pressies down for Richard and Christie a week tomorrow.
Alun's sister is coming here tomorrow, so we are going out to lunch. It will be nice to see her.

Jean, so sorry to read about E, hope they can sort out what the problem is very soon. Sending my thoughts and prayers to her and also to little C, who must be missing his mum, bless him.

If I don't post over the next few days, you know where I am, either travelling about the country or up to my elbows in paint.lol!!!

Try and speak to you all soon.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Huia, I love your christmas Avatar,I haven't bothered to change mine in ages, in fact I have forgotten how to do it. lol
I know how you felt about the noise at the christmas meal, as I felt the same at our darts on Monday night.
It must be that we get used to a certain amount of silence at home, that when we are thrust into loud noise it affects us quite badly.
I never used to mind noise of any kind, but not now I am older.
When our eldest daughter was a baby, she used to sleep through the 1812 Overture, that Roly and I played loudly on our Dancette record player....oooh that shows how old we are if we know what one of them is.

Ann, many thanks for your Christmas card, received in todays post.

Huia

Huia Report 4 Dec 2013 06:19

Today I went to the Christmas dinner at Phil's home. It was crowded. There was a guitarist and a singer and they had the sound system turned up much too loud for my liking, and I didn't even have my hearing aids in and was at the far end of the room (probably about 50 ft away at a guess). I must remember to keep some earplugs in my bag when I go there.

I tried to feed Phil but he was a bit dozy. He had had a dose of morphine for the pain in his foot. Every time I put food in his mouth I had to stroke him under the chin to try to encourage him to chew and swallow. He didn't eat much of his dinner.

I called in at the shop on my way back and had a couple of cups of tea as I didn't want the punch they had provided at the dinner. I have never been keen on fizzy drinks.

Huia. (must change my avatar for a Christmassy one).

Mo, pleased to hear that Jason and his family are home safe and sound.....but sorry that both Lilly and her mum have that cold and horrible cough that you have.
Is yours any better?

Let's hope that they take her back to the doctors and he/she will give her something for it. Maybe she needs some antibiotics, bless her......so hope they will give her some, so that she will be a lot better for Christmas.

Well done to your team last night! Shame about the venue, as you said, it looks as though it is catering for the youngsters now. Us oldies don't stand a chance these days.lol!!!

I will have to go to Derby in the morning to get a few bits of craft stuff, I need to finish off a few cards, so hope that I can get what I want tomorrow. I've also got a couple of late Christmas pressies to get, so will try and get them too.

Jean, Ann, Sylvia, Huia and Marie hope you are all alright.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care everyone.

Sallie, when I put my phone on this morning, there was a txt fromJason, they arrived home at 8.15 this morning. They left Scotland around midnight last night, just in case they got held up by the weather or traffic.
We went over to see them this afternoon, and Lilly and her mum have both got this blessed cold and cough thing that I have got. Bless her the cough is really horrid to listen to in such a little one, and I do hope that her mumor dad takes her back to the doctor for something to shift it.
Just to let you know that we did win last night, but crumbs what a night. It's an old team, same venue, but new landlords. It has been done up lovely, but they are catering for the younger people, and have installed a juke box, that they insisted had to be really loud. A crowd of youngsters were creating havoc at the other end of the bar, and we were expecting trouble at any minute. Still, we haven't got to play them at their venue again, thank goodness

Hope you are all well, sending you my best wishes, Mo

Hi girls,

Jean I sent you a pm earlier about the cut outs. How are things there today, is there any news on E's stepdad? Hope that he is improving and that the hospital is sorting him out.

My craftroom is in a right mess at the moment, not got much left to do now, so will give it a good sort out when I've done. I just need to make a few birthday cards for January and a couple of New Home cards for my friend who will be moving house
before Christmas.

Mo, I like a carvery too, the one we go to In N. Wales is really good, all the veg are are always cooked as I like them. Like you, I like my veg properly cooked, but not
over done, over cooked veg are just as bad as the ones only just blanched.

Both Jennie and myself love lots of veg, although Jennie has to watch with some of them. We like nearly all veg, but if we had to choose just one we would both choose broccoli...... we love it. Christie is the same, but Richard is like Alun and Michael, there are only a couple of veg that they will eat......fussy lot.lol!!!

Let's hope that the family will arrive home safely before the snow starts in Scotland. Are they travelling home through the night again? Whatever, hope that they have a good and safe journey. I expect, Lilly will tell both you and Roly about the wedding, bless her.

Good luck for tonight Mo, hope you beat the team you are playing tonight.

Well girls I will speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello girls,
Jean, my condolences for all concerned re the loss of a loved one.
Our family are due back tomorrow, god willing that the snow doesn't hold them up.
We might go and try to put their central heating on for them, so that the house is not cold for little one when they arrive. Thats if we can work out how their system works.
What is this P***O B****Y you are trying to get me to take Jean.
I have got a prescription for anti-biotics today. I have tried and tried to clear it myself, with paracetamol, honey and hot lemon, but it just won't go, and it's making me feel rotten.

Sallie, I am pleased that you had a good time in Wales.
I love going to a carvery, you can have what you want, and not what they decide to stick on your plate wether you like it or not. And nearly everytime the vegetables are only just blanched, and semi warm, where as I like my veg properly cooked, and hot, but not boiled to death.
Roly will pile his plate with meat, and I only like a little, but loads of veg for me.

Well it's time I was going girls, wish me luck at darts tonight. But Jean, dont place to much money on me, just in case we lose, you need all your pennies for my christmas present. lol ;-) ;-) ;-)
Bye my friends, speak to you tomorrow. Mo xxx

Hi Jean, sorry to hear the sad news about E's grandad, please pass on my condolences to the family. Also hope that her step dad will soon feel a lot better and that he won't be in hospital very long. It could be that E herself worked up with being upset about her grandad and worrying about her step dad. Hope she will be alright.

Mo, how are you feeling today? Hope that you are a bit better than ysterday....stay in and keep warm until you a feeling well again.

Glad that they had a safe journey and that Lilly slept for most of the way. How long are they there for? Lte's hope that the snow that has been forecast will keep away until they are home safely.

We had a lovely day in N.Wales.....all of us went out to lunch to a pub that we have been to several times before, the food there is very good so today we had a carvery, it was really nice.

A----n was talking today about her starting proceedings to divorce her husband....I think that it's a case of, she will be glad when it's over and done with now. I don't really blame her at all.

Sylvia, glad to know that your test results at the doctors were all alright....it's nice to have peace of mind until your next check up.

Huia, hope that all is well with you. I expect that you are busy at the charity shop.
Did you go and visit your sister as said? Hope that she and her family are alright.

We still haven't heard from Marie, I really hope that everthing is alright with her and her family.

Going to have a hot drink now, so will speak to you all later.

Take care.

Thanks Sallie, I am pleased to say that the family arrived safetly in Scotland. They left at 1.30 a.m after filling up with fuel, and arrived at 8.15 a.m. They stopped around six a.m for about twenty minutes, and thank goodness Lilly was fine on the journey, sleeping most of the way.
I do wish this blessed cold virus would clear orft, all I seem to be doing is dropping off to sleep, and waking myself up coughing.
Bye for now girls, take care. Mo

Mo, didn't realise that they are travelling to Scotland tonight......hope that Lilly won't be sick on the journey and that she will sleep all the way there, bless her.

Yes Mo, we enjoyed our trip to Derby, went into our favourite place for cup of tea and a sandwich, lovely. As you say it's nice to have a mother and daughter day every now and again.

Hope Lilly and her mum and dad will have a safe and good journey to Scotland.
