Hi Mo, so glad that the results from the doctors were all okay. Hope all goes well with the lung capacity next month and it will rule emhysema out for you. Hope Roly will feel a lot better soon too.

Sylvia, your SiL memorial service sounds really good, I'm sure that there must have been lots of smiles as well as tears, from family and friends. It was nice that she was so well known, loved and respected by so may people.

Hope that your daughter is improving each day and that she will feel better before too long, and that she will take things easy for as long has she has to. So sorry to hear about the problems that they have, but hopefully with talking things out they will be able to sort it all out.

How is ' little man' doing? I expect you seen a difference in him since he was last staying with you and OH. I bet he loved having you both there with him,

I also that your leg will completely heal soon for you.

Ann, how are you since you are home. I bet you have been busy getting the washing sorted, not the best of weather for that job though, I'm afraid.

I had to go and get my hearing aids sorted out today, I've had problems with them both since before Christmas. but the left one went completely nearly four weeks ago. Anyway they are both back to normal again and it's lovely to be able to hear everyone and everything clearly again.
Only problem was, that with it being a week before Christmas when I rang for an appointment, the earliest I could get one was today 30th January.

While I was there she was telling me that an old gentleman had gone for four o clock for his appointment and it was for two o clock, he had taken 14.00 hrs as four o clock, she said that sometimes, people tend to mix the times up.

Well I hope Jean, Huia and Marie are all okay.

Take care everyone.

Will speak to you all soon

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello girls.
Sylvia, I am so pleased that the memorial service went well. It sounds like your S.I.L was a lady who was liked and respected all round.
Sorry to hear that things between daughter and S.I.L are a bit awkward at the moment, but they will sort things out eventually I feel sure. Most marriages go through difficult moments, and I am a firm believer in talking things through.
But it will be hard for your daughter at the moment, just recovering from her operation.
How was little man doing? I bet you both noticed a big difference in him .

Well, my results at the doctors were very good. My chest and lungs are still clear, but he want me to have a lung capacity test done next month, to rule our emphascaemia (sp) There is little or nothing we can do to prevent the virus coming back, as it's an air borne germ, and apart from staying at home 24/7 nobody is immune to it.
Roly is fine one minute, then suffering the next. So I am stuffing him full of paracetamol, and honey and hot lemon, to keep his temperature down, and to soothe his sore throat.
Sore throat or not, he can still moan and groan lol bless him.
Must go now girls, I have to get ready for darts. Take care one and all, hugs Mo xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone

sorry to hear you are still sick Mo, and hope you are soon better .................. but do hope you are not being given antibiotics for a viral infection! They don't work for viruses!

Sallie ..... it's good to see that you are getting out a little bit more as your legt improves.

and nice to see Jean and Marie posting.

The spot on my leg is being very slow to heal ........ but then, the doc warned me that it would take several weeks.

Thank you for all your good wishes.

The Memorial for my sis-i-l was amazing!

She had organised it all, with the emphasis being on the family .............. from the Bishop being restricted to doing the Opening and Closing prayers, to readings by 4 people (OH and 3 vicars from elsewhere in the Diocese), to happy hymns and clapping songs, to requesting that her grandchildren dance in the aisle to the music!

It was a happy occasion, with a few tears shed here and there.

We thought there might have been as many as 300 people there ............ they were standing 2 and 3 deep along the side aisles, extra chairs placed along side each row down the main aisle, and an overflow in the Hall. Over 200 had signed the guest book that had been set out, and we know that many people had attended but not signed (including the family %3A-%29 )

Sitting on one of the extra chairs across the aisle from me was the Roman Catholic minister, and the United Church minister was somewhere else in the congregation. We think the Lutheran minister was also there!

Mind you ................. sis-i-l was well known in the little town of about 5000 people, and had touched many people.

She first went to live there in 1970, taught in the Middle School and then in the High School, she and her husband were heavily involved in the ski hill organisation and in search and rescue, then was minister of the only Anglican Church since 2005.

The Bishop returned to the Parish this past Sunday for a special Eucharist Service with Communion.

We got back very late on Monday night from our daughter's ......... we had 8 days there

Daughter had had abdominal surgery, but was released from the hospital the day after we arrived, about 6 days after the surgery, still with staples in, under orders not to lift ANYTHING for 2 weeks, then nothing over 5 lbs for another 4 weeks.

It was amazing to see how well she was walking though!

There are also some marital problems that we didn't know about .......... but they are working on those, and we are hoping all will work out for them.

Thank you again for all your good wishes.

Mo, hope all went well at the doctors for you today, and that you don't need any more antibiotics. How is Roly today? I hope he is feeling at least a bit better today

Jean, where are you? I hope that you are alright.

Sylvia, I see that you are back from your daughter's........I hope that all will turn out right for them.

Marie, how are you today? I hope that you are a bit better and not suffering too much pain. I didn't realise how a torn ligament/ ligaments could be so painful and can take so many weeks to heal.

Ann, wondered where you had got to. Pleased that you enjoyed your week in the Lake District, despite the rain, wind and cold and also a small amount of snow.

Huia, hope you are alright and not feeling so down as you have been recently. Take care of yourself.

Must go now, so will chat to you all again tomorrow.

Love and best wishes.

Mo, so pleased to see you back and to know that you feel a lot better....it's best that you see your doctor tomorrow, so that he can check the chest problems you had have completely cleared up.

It will make a nice change for you and Roly to have a weeks holiday at Great Yarmouth and the sea air will do you both good.

I am now able to walk small distances without using a stick so things are improving each day, thank goodness. I hope Marie is getting a bit better each day too.

We are going to the Range, so that I can see if they have any new card making
stuff there yet. I'm sick of being in the house so I will be glad of the run out.

Speak to you all later on.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo in Kent Report 28 Jan 2014 16:52

Hello my lovelies, it's little old me, yes that strange woman called Mo.
Thank goodness I am feeling a lot better now, so keep your fingers crossed for me.
The only problem now, is that Roly is feeling like poo, and when I said I would let him have my appointment with the doctor tomorrow, you can guess what his reply was, a big fat no I will be o.k.
Why are men so stubborn, no don't answer that.
I have to see the doctor for my results, but the recptionist said that the results were good, but I need to know why this viral thing keeps coming back, and if there is anything I can do to prevent it.

Sorry to hear that two of our dear friends are suffering with ligament strains, and other pains in their bodies. Get well soon my lovelies.

I do wish our weather would hurry up and turn for the better, perhaps then we would feel more cheerful.
We have booked a week away, near Great Yarmouth in May. I am fed up of looking at the same four walls, and am praying that the snow that has been threatened doesn't wait till May to fall down on us.

Well my dears, I will say cheerio for now, love and hugs to you all. Mo xxx

Hi Marie, you have my sympathy, torn ligaments are very painful, so try and rest as much as you can, although I know that that isn't always easy to do. Like you I have found taking the painkillers also made me feel sick and shaky, so now the pain has eased quite a bit I have cut down on the dosage.

My leg is slowly getting better, thank you, although I am able to walk small distances with the help of a stick there are some things I'm not able to do, like walking upstairs and around the bigger supermarkets. It shouldn't be too long now, with it improving a bit each day.

Mo. thinking of you and hoping and praying that you are feeling a good bit better by now. Miss seeing you on here. Sending you love and lots of hugs. <3 <3 <3 <3

Jean, hope all is well with you and your family today. I bet you are busy making some more cards.

Sylvia, I hope there is good news about your daughter and that she is getting better.

Hope your grandson is alright, I'm sure you are enjoying seeing and being with him,
has you don't see him very often. Also hoping that both you and OH are keeping well. Thinking about you all.

Huia, thinking about both you and Phil and hoping that things are not too bad for you at the moment.

Well I must go as Alun will be home shortly. Speak to you all later.

Yes Jean, I am wondering how our Mo is too, it is worrying not seeing her on here I

My leg is slowly improving thank you, but not quick enough for me.lol!! Alun took me over to our friends house today so that I could use her shower again. Trouble is, our shower is over the bath so I can't yet use my left leg to get into it, so have used J's shower as it's a walk in one, oh it's lovely.

Your weather sounds very much like ours here today, it's lousy. I keep wondering when we will have snow, ice and freezing weather, Jean. We will probably get it into the spring like we did last year.

Thanks for your pics Jean, love the cards, they are beautiful. I'll be in touch with you.

I hope that Huia, Ann, Sylvia, Marie and Joyce and their families are all alright.

Sending lots of get well wishes to everyone who are poorly.

Hello girls, just looking in to see how you all are, as it has been a few days since any of us have posted.

Mo, how are you? I hope that you have improved over the last few days and that you are feeling better than you have been. Thinking about you and sending you love and hugs.

I have been wondering how your friend Florence got on last week when she seen the Specialist. I hope it all went well for her. Sending her lots of positive thoughts and prayers.

Ann, hope that things are alright with you too, as I haven't seen you on the boards for a few days either. Not sure if you and T have gone on holiday or that you are poorly. Just hope that you are both okay.

Jean also hope that you and the family are all alright too. Thought that you might be busy making cards.

I sent for some dies yesterday, fed up of not being able to go into Derby to the craft shop I like, so decided to buy some things online. I'm hoping that it won't be too long now before I can get upstairs again and get ' lost ' in my card making.lol!!

Sylvia, if you manage to look in, I'm wondering how things are with your daughter and hoping that she is home from hospital and is recovering well.

Also hope that your wound from the biopsy is much better.

Huia, how are you getting on? I hope that you are feeling a bit better and don't feel so down and depressed as you have been lately. It's good that you have the shop
to go to, as I'm sure that it must help by getting you out. Hope that Phil isn't too bad at the moment and that they are able to get him to swallow.

Marie, how are things with you and your family? I hope that everyone is alright.

Hope that the B B Q went well last week and that you enjoyed yourself there.
Has your grandson gone to Melbourne yet? Hope he likes it there and that he will be happy there.

Everything is okay here, apart from the wet and miserable weather we are all having. Although I don't like the weather too hot, we could do with some of your sunshine here in Britain.lol!!

Sending love, best wishes and positive thoughts to all of you and your families that are poorly.
