Hello ladies and Shaun.

I have made an appointment with the doc for this morning as it is 4 weeks since I had my 'event' and I have a few questions, and comments to make. I also hope the flu vaccine is in, as, working in the shop I am more likely to pick up flu. My appointment was originally for 11.15 but I have changed it to 10.15 as I was invited to a meeting at Mangatangi by their historic society. They have been given permission to use one of dad's photos. The meeting is at 1.30 and I imagine it will take a little over an hour to get there. I don't want to rush or be late.

Must go and get ready soon.

Hi ladies and now our first man :-D :-D the sky has been cloudless all day so we decided to have a stroll we went to the canal and set off, it was a bitter cold wind needlesss to say we didnt go far , back home quickly hot drink and toast. I cant stand the cold it hurts my chest and I was chilled all day....still am, must have the thinnest blood ever :-| :-|

sadly we dont get sun on the back until the clocks change so the conservatry wasnt over warm, my friend gets sun in hers all day and can use it all year , we are toying with the idea of having the roof made solid so it would become an extention , but all in the air at the moment himself is thinking of getting a new car??? wonder who will win ;-) ;-) ;-)

hope all our friends over the waters are o.k. does any one know if Marie has sent her new address and is her e-mail still the same....

hope you are all doing well, off to watch Emmmerdale,

Mo in Kent Report 11 Mar 2014 14:34

Hello everyone,
Sallie, it's such a shame when Alzheimers takes a hold, and the person we know is no longer there.
Your cousin is in the safest, and best place for her. There will be days when she appears to be her normal self, but other days in a world of her own.
Huia, has been living with this dreadful thing, for a few years now, and it has robbed her of her beloved husband Phil.
Your family would not have had a days rest, without worrying about her.
Knowing how my mum was, was such a worry to us. Many times she nearly set the housing complex on fire, when she thought she had turned the hob off, and placed a tea towel on top of the heated ring, setting it on fire. And not eating thinking she already had, and so many other things.
It's so hard to accept isn't it.
The garden is an ongoing project, that seems never to end. The weeds grow so quickly.
Our dreaded neighbour at the back of us, is still not tending her garden. I have been out with the weed killer, spraying the bind weed and stinging nettles, in hopes that they die off.
Even with my gardening gloves on, I managed to sting my hand...ouch it didn't half hurt. I am becoming a woos in my old age.
I hope your tension headache eases soon my love, if not, get yourself to the doctor, and get yourself checked over.

I hope our Ann, is still ejoying her holiday. I think she has pinched our sun, as it's not been seen or heard of since Sunday, and it's turned cold here again. So come on Ann,so send it back PLEASE.

Sending my best wishes to you all, take care of yourselves, Mo xxx

Sallie Report 10 Mar 2014 23:14

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on here for a while. Since last Wednesday I haven't been feeling too good as I suffered with bad headaches from Wednesday until yesterday. Not sure if I was going in for a bad cold or was it just stress that caused it.

I have been upset this last week, as one of my older cousin's has had to go into a nursing home, as she suffers with Alzheimer's and she was no longer safe to be left on her own. Her daughter took her there last Thursday and she was dreading taking her in and leaving her there. We have always been close as a family, so it's been horrible, I've tried to be there to chat to A on the phone each day, so as you can imagine it's been a case of lots of tears from both of us.

My cousin isn't too bad, we all hope and pray that she will settle down there alright.

Then, my brother rand and told me that another of our cousin's had been taken to hospital, and she has to have major heart surgery very soon. Because there is a long waiting list for the surgery in Cardiff hospital, she will have to go to Birmingham to have it.

Jean, I really love the pics of the cards you sent me. You have some lovely ideas. Thanks for sending them.

It will be worth having a trip out to the craft shop, I'm sure you will find something a bit different there, than you can get in the Range. If you go in fairly often, they get to know you and what kind of stuff you like.
As soon as I go through the door at the ones I use in Derby, they show me what new things they have in.

Shaun, you are welcome to the card making stuff, hope that you can get Mrs Shaun interested in making cards very soon.

Hope that you are both feeling better over the last few days and that it won't be long before the doctors will sort out your problem for you.

Ann, hope you and T are enjoying your holiday. Take care both.

Huia, hope things are all alright with you. Have you been busy in the shop over the last few days?

I went to Derby to have my hair done on Saturday morning and Lisa that always does my hair for me has just come back from a holiday in your country and Oz.

She had a wonderful holiday and especially loved NZ, she said the scenery was beautiful and that the people were friendly and warm hearted. She would love to go again sometime.

Mo, how are things with you and Roly. Hope that you are both alright.

Have you managed to tidy up all the garden yet?

Sylvia, hope that both you and OH are alright. Are you having good weather over there as we are here?

Well must go now to have a cuppa and then it will be time for bed.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi there Jean,
A picnic sounds lovely, can I come along with you. lol
We are starting to panic here, Roly has just gone for his fitting of his penguin suit.
Trust our daughter wanting to go the whole hog, for her wedding.
They had top hats and tails for her first wedding as well. Poor Roly, being so short, he doesn't suit them, as the tails come to far down his body at the back.
I have yet to find something to wear, and we only have till June to get organised, oh boy great fun, but we will get there eventually I suppose.
We have a lovely day again today, and I have spent a couple of hours outside in the fresh air.... wonderful.
Well girls, I hope you are all well, and hope to hear from you soon. Take care, Mo xxx

Hi there everyone.
Ann, I didn't realise you were on your hols, you lucky girl. Enjoy yourselves, but as Jean said, take it easy on the vino, we know how wobbly we can get after a few glasses, when the ground starts to move around with every step we take. LOL

Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear of your sad loss. We are all at the age, where good friends and acquaintances pass away, and leave us behind to grieve. Not that they would wish us to, but it's human nature to do so.

Sallie, I didn't manage to clear all the weeds from the garden , so will tackle some more over the next few days. After doing my leg in digging the raised flower bed, I have learn't my lesson. I am still getting the earth from the bed as well, but slowly slowly catchy monkey, will get the job done.
We have'nt seen Lilly this week, so I assume she is o.k, or we are bound to have had a phone call otherwise.
I hope your abscess is not playing you up today my love. If it is, off to the dentist you must go.

Jean, like you, we have got beautiful sunshine today. We did put the heating on this morning, but have had to turn it of as it's so flaming hot indoors....I never thought I would ever say that again. lol

Right thats it, I am going out in the garden, I have just decided as it's sooo lovely out there.
Bye for now girls, hugs to all. Mo xxx

Many thanks for all your cards and good wishes for J and myself, we had a funny old day ;-) ;-) ;-) we have a new light in the kitchen and one of the bulbs went, so J had to go and get some spares, then we had a guy coming to put the kitchen plinths back so thats done now, then my tooth started aching so yesterday I went to the dentist, nothing too bad although another visit next week :-| :-| we are hoping to go out for lunch soon, well after all these years we are quite flexable about dates .... our littlie is now walking or should say running , :-D :-D :-D no stopping him now.....

Ann, we have nice sunshine here and its quite a bit warmer so there :-P :-P :-P
have a great time and steady on the vino.... dont forget my pressie ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hallo, keeping an eye on you from Spain. Lovely here today, warm and sunny but from the forecast it can't last. Still it was so good to see the sun.

Elizabeth, lovely to see you on here,mI hope that you are well.

Sylvia,oh how sad it is to lose good friends, I am so sorry.

Huia lovely to meet up with your cousins. I think you do very well learning all this new technology.

Sallie, feeling better now but the cough lingers on.

Mo, sorry to hear that florence has yet another problem, I hope it can be solved without too much hassle.

Jean.... Hope you are ok and that you enjoyed your anniversary.

Hi girls,

Let's hope I can get to post this message, this is the third time I have tried, lost the first two, they just disappeared.lol!!

Mo, sorry to hear that Florence is still not one hundred per cent. Also sorry to hear that she has another growth....let's hope and pray that the doctors are right when they say that they don't think it is cancer.
Hope all goes well for her on Friday when she sees the specialist and that the biopsy results will be good and clear of cancer.

Having to have radiotherapy on any part of the body is a horrible treatment to have, but to have to have it on the face must be horrific. As you said, she is still recovering from the burns to her mouth and lips that the radiotherapy has left her with.

Sending her lots of positive thoughts and get well wishes. <3 <3 <3

You have been a busy bee today. Did you manage to get all the weeds cleared?

Hope everyone is alright with you. Have you had Lilly over the last few days?

I think that I have a small abscess under one of my teeth, it's given me a bit of pain over the last two days. I am rinsing my mouth out in hot salt water every four hours and taking painkillers. Felt better this afternoon, so managed to make some cards.

Hello Elizabeth, it's lovely to see you on here, you are always welcome to pop in to see us any time.I hope that you and all your family are well.

Huia, love the photo of you and your cousins. It's lovely that you were all able to meet up, especially as you don't see the very often.

It would be nice to think that maybe Phil recognised your voice, if only just a bit when you visited him.

I agree with you when you say Alzheimer's is a slow lingering death, after seeing how my brother-in-law is. It's terrible for them and it's cruel for their loved ones to see them as they get worse over the years.

My cousin also has Alzheimer's and she is going into a home tomorrow. She has a daughter and two sons, but her daughter lives up in North Wales and they live in South Wales.
She has to go in for her own safety and the families peace of mind, although they are dreading taking her there tomorrow.
I seen her at Christmas and then again at the beginning of February for her birthday, and she had deteriorated a lot in that space of time.

Spent a lot of time last night reading a good few pages from the beginning of this thread. Gosh, we all did have a lot to say then, it was lovely reading through the posts. I could still remember so much of it.

Jean, Sylvia, Ann and Marie hope that you are all well.

Well must go now. so will speak again soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo, I doubt if Phil will ever be up to par again. It is such a long slow lingering death.

I am off this morning to the shop. One of our women has been absent for 6 weeks, recuperating from an operation, so she has to learn how to use our new scanner at the till. I thought I might be needed elsewhere for odd jobs. If not, I can do my shopping and come home.

Hello ladies,
Sallie, my friend Florence is still not quite one hundred per cent. She is due back at the specialists this Friday. They think they have got rid of the big C, but she has now got another growth, thankfully they don't think it's cancer, but they have to remove it and do anothe biopsy on it. It's in the same area as the original bad growth, so they are a bit concerned about it.
Her mouth and lips are still recovering from the radiotheraphy burns. Poor girl has gone through it, bless her.

Thank you Elizabeth, it's lovely of you to drop in and see us occasionally.
I do hope you and yours are keeping well my love.

Huia, what a lovely photo of yourself and your cousins. How lovely for you to all manage to meet up.
Steady on my love, our stomachs can't take to many spicy these days can they, not like when we were younger. If I have a curry now, I have to have a very mild one, or crikey, do I suffer afterwards.
Sorry to hear that Phil is still not up to par. It does sound like his memory was stirred when you visited him, as he raised his eyebrows at you.

I have just come in from the garden, where I was doing a little bit of tidying up. Goodness me, where do the weeds come from.
Well I must go now girls, speak to you later.
Hugs to all, Mo xxx
