Well, thank goodness I am back, did you miss me, I bet you didn't LOL
My poor laptop had to go into lappy hospital, yet again....I seriously don't know what it keeps happening, but it's sorted out now, phew thank the lord.
I got them to load my McAfee for me whilst they were at it, so now I have protection for two years instead of one. Whats the betting I forget, and buy it again next year.
I was able to use my tablet for a while, but it's very unreliable.

I hope you have all battened down the hatches, in readiness for the gale force winds and rain thats due to turn up tomorrow night sometime.

Yes Mo the dress was from the Classic range in M&S. It was in my usual size though. I like some of the things in that range but don't like the trousers with the sewn in seams, they make me feel old. And the boots are very comfortable.

Yes T is at golf this morning. He still plays twice a week although does feel tired when he gets home. Won't be able to rest today thhough as we have flu jabs this afternoon.

Oh thank goodness, I thought everyone had deserted me LOL

Hello Elizabeth, it's so lovely to know you look in on our thread. Don't overdo the swear word...(housework),it's a word I like to think about, but not carry through with very often these days.

Ann, I love M+S footwear, especially their footglove selection....they are sooo comfy.
Did you get your Velvet dress from M+S as well. I find I get get away with smaller sizes from their selection of clothes, and that makes me a whole lot happier with myself.
Is T still playing his golf? or has the wet weather put him off. I somehow doubt that though. lol

Well girls, I am doing very well with towards christmas presents. Today I remembered to buy the wrapping paper, something I have promised myself I would do days ago, so tonight, I shall start wrapping the little ones gifts up.
Thank the lord there are not so many to buy for as we used to have to get.
Oh no, I have just remembered, I didn't get the gift tags, honestly my memory gets worse, but as I know who has got what, I can still wrap them up.

Hi, Folks, I last heard from Sallie on the 6th oct and she sounded to be struggling , wasnt doing any cards and although she read the thread couldnt add , so I am thinking its the old black dog again, I hope she is soon feeling better,

my excuse is the dizziness its not moving at all, cant even bend down sometimes ,I started to strip the beds and couldnt mange it , so J had to help me, must say I feel a bit low. did make some christmas cards,( Pics on the way Ann), but couldnt get in the mood for any more so put it away....not much news I am afraid, the roof seems to be a very good investment its lovely and cosy when it gets colder....

Just had a letter cancelling my trip to the eye dept, from next week to the week after
had my flu and shingle jabs on monday the shingles one is very red and itchy, but should clear up soon...we are just going to have coffee and a mince pie, they are from Home Bargains and are very good......so take care everyone. see you soon,

Hello all. sorry Mo have been out in Cheltenham until now. I think the boards in general are very quiet. Lots of people have left or don't come on here now after the RRing caused so much trouble which was probably what they wanted.

Managed to get a dress to wear out for lunch at Christmas and also to grandson's 18th. Just a straight black velvet. Also bought some new booys, flat, ankle brown exactly the same as the black ones I have been wearing for a year so I know they are comfortable. M&S footglove, wider fitting.

Not see Sallie for ages, anyone know if she is ok.

Oooh no, still no posters, it's getting very sad not hearing from our friends.

Welcome home Ann,
It's nice to hear that the wedding went well. Photographers fees are so high, and we found that at our daughters wedding, that the guests photo's were in fact better than the professional ones, people were far more relaxed not having to stand to attention whilst the photographer got everyone in place.
Little Luke would have been in his glory, having all the attention payed to him, but we never consider how they are going to act when all the attention is over, it must be like coming down from a high I dare say, and then we leave it to the parents to sort out. But hey, we have been there, done that and bought the T/Shirt haven't we. LOL
We have got the rain that you experienced whilst you wre away, yet again today. Our shed door has swollen again, with all this wet weather, and is causing problems with opening and closing. It was fine all the time we had good weather, but the old problem is back again. Roly can't shave anymore of it, as we would have a gale force wind blowing through it. When it was installed, we thought that our friend had bought an exterior door, but no, it's an internal door and thats whats causing all the problems.
The trouble is, they don't make external doors to the measurements that is needed to fit the frame, and poor Roly is not exactly a good carpenter. Knowing my luck, we would buy one that was miles to big, and it would end up small enough to fit a dolls house. LOL
It's check up time on Thursday at the dentists, fingers crossed that I wont need any treatment.

Well we are back home, travelled back today. traffic was very heavy and there were several bits of the M6 which were congested. We still made quite good time though and it wasn't too bad.

The wedding was on Thursday which was the wettest day we had up there. It all went very well though, the hotel was excellent, they couldn't do enough for us. The bride looked really lovely and, even though most of the photos were indoors and they didn't have a professional photographer they seem to have come out very well. The bride and groom are now on honeymoon so have not seen the photos so none will be on the internet until after they have returened. Some photos were taken by the more adventurous among us of the bride and groom her under a red umbrella and he under a black one, very effective.

The meal was excellent - Tomato or leek soup, salmon en crout (or chicken or mushroom tagliatelle), and sticky toffee pudding and ice cream or creme brulee.

And the speeches went off well too.

The rest of the week was full on with all the family up there so daughter's apartment where we stayed seemed to have a procession of young family members including baby Luke and a couple of daughter's friends, in and out all day. Luke got very spoilt with his young uncle prepared to carry him everywhere and is apparently playing Mum and dad up today.

On the days we did get out the scenery (when the sun did shine) was as beautiful as ever. The trees are starting to turn and also all the ferns so it is very pretty.

Daughter and son in law are now finding it very quiet but they need a well deserved rest after us lot being there.

Hi Ann, I do hope the weather is better in the lake district than it is here.
It has been raining hard all morning,thoroughly miserable. We have been spoilt by it being fine weather, and now complaining when we get a bit of rain, huh a typical
brit response isn't it, never happy.
I hope the wedding goes well tomorrow, and that the Wifi holds out for you all.

Well girls, I have started getting christmas presents. I have succeeded in buying for three of the grandchildren, only another ahem.....eight to buy for. The older ones no longer get presents thank goodness, as we now have nineteen to cater for, and the pension just doesn't go that far.

I must remember to get some wrapping paper, or little miss nosey Lilly will be snooping in the spare bedroom, thinking she can play with what we have bought her.
Normally I get the christmas cards in the sales, but this year I forgot to get them, so I shall have to buy some this year.
