Oooh it sounds wonderful Ann, the atmosphere must have been electric.
To be honest I don't like it when there are too many people milling around, I get claustrophobic, and want to get away from the area.

We had an emergency phone call from our son today, our grandaughter Lilly, was really naughty, and had pulled the front from the double electric socket.
Our son was at work, and fortunately our son in law had a spare socket, so good old grandad had to rush over and do an emergency repair job.
Understandably, we were concerned in case she touched the cables inside.
Lilly has got such a temper on her now, but we still think she is attention seeking most of the time, but today she kicked out at the socket for no apparant reason, and broke it.
If she is put on the....naughty step, she just gets up and walks away. The trouble is, nowadays parents are scared to smack a child for fear of come backs.
My children got a smack, when they were really naughty, but I must emphasise a smack, not a beating, and they have all grown up, decent, polite individuals, who treat others with respect.

At the moment, we are trying to get tickets for New Years Eve, at the same venue we went to last year. If it comes off, there will be at least 12 of us attending, such a wonderful way for Roly to celebrate his birthday.

Sorry about the cough Mo, hope it clears up soon. OK I am copying this from the Welsh thread as I don't want to type it all out again.

Hi all
Well it was lashing down with rain when we got up this morning. However it stopped about 10am so we decided to catch the bus in to town. We had coffee in town first. As we walked through the town they must have had an artificial snow machine on top of the multi storey car park because as we walked into the shopping mall snowflakes were drifting down making everyone - especially the children - smile. We then walked down to the docks to the Victorian market. I have never, ever, seen so many people in that area, it was heaving. There were a lot more stalls there this year as well and they all seemed to be doing a good trade. I reckon there could have been close on 200 stalls there, craft and food most of them. all we bought were three different cheeses, a large pork pie and some wild boar pate. There were a lot of jewellery stalls and unusual Christmas tree decorations, nuts, sweets, curry sauces, roast pork rolls. Fascinating when you could actually fight your way to get near them. They had a few fairground rides, carousel, big wheel, helter skelter, swing boats. And all the stall holders were in Victorian dress.

We also went round the outlet centre which also seemed to be doing a good trade judging by the queue in M&S. We didn't have a hope of getting lunch in the Quays area with all those people as well as people arriving for the cimema. So we walked back and had lunch in Prezzo. Theyw ere busy but coped and we had a pleasant lunch. And it didn't rain at all again all day. :-) :-) :-)

Enjoy yourselves tomorrow Ann, and try not to overspend LOL

This darned cough is still hanging around Ann. Both Roly and myself start coughing at dinner time..5.00 p.m approx, perhaps it's the thought of burnt offerings for our meal that starts it off.

It wont be long now till our Christmas Dickens weekend starts, in Rochester and the Castle grounds, now that is a sight to behold, but oh so busy.
The police must dread it, coping with all the people, but the Dickension costumes are wonderful.

Good to see you on here Marie and to know that youa re well. As Mo says it is chilly and wet here and forecast to remain so. At least we have not (yet) had the snow they have in USA. It looks horrendous there. Christmas shopping more or less finished and cards written. tomorrow we are hoping it is going to be drier than today as we want to go to the Victorian Market at Gloucester docks which is usually very good.

Mo, hope the cold/cough is beginning to clear up..

Jean, Sallie, hope you are both ok and not too cold. :-) :-)

Why hello Marie, welcome home.
Both Ann and myself left you messages on F.B, but I did notice that you had not logged out for a long long time, and wondered if everything was alright with you.
Would you like us to send you a little rain, and cold weather down the cyber hatch, as thats how it has been here.
Your sister in law sounds a very strong lady, undergoing the surgeries that she has, and has come out the other side well....god willing she will continue in the same vane.
How lovely for you, to share christmas with your son and family, I am sure you will enjoy yourself.
I really didn't expect the cards to arrive as early as they did, but it's nice to know that they got to there destinations in plenty of time. LOL
Hope to hear from you before Xmas love, but in the meantime, take care. Hugs Mo

Dear Elizabeth, please dont use that swear word to me, H.u.e.o.k, tut tut dear lady, I am worn out even thinking about it. LOL
I do hope you and your family are having a fun weekend, weather permitting of course, if it's anything like it is here, well, welly boots and rain coats are in order, not nice at all.
My grandaughter Lilly is in her element mind you, splashing through puddles, is great fun when one is young, but not so nice when you are trying to avoid them whilst carrying bags of shopping.

Don't worry girls, I am wearing my mask, instead of coughing and spluttering all over my screen, yuk, this virus is driving me crazy.

Hugs to all, Mo

Jean :-D I know you go out love, but I meant you don't go to many crowded places or places with lots of children which is usually where the bugs are. Still if it is in your area and people are thoughtless and go out while they are still infectious (I think you are supposed to stay in for 48 hours or something after you were last ill) then it is going to spread around. I do get a bit concerned in cafes etc and on the bus when these bugs are around. I was reading in the paper today how your immune system deteriorates as you get older.

Oh yes Mo, we always get lost trying to find the town in Milton Keynes. We manage these days to find son's place without the sat nav (T is very lazy about using it when he 'knows' where he is going :-D) But at the weekend we had to take a couple of the teenagers and drop them in the town centre. We went by a very roundabout route!!!!

Mo in Kent Report 12 Nov 2014 17:01

Goodness me Huia, that was a lot quicker delivery than I expected. lol

Sallie, we never go to the continent for our holidays....but who knows where we could end up, depending on this ere Sat Nav.
Cor lummy mate, you don't hang around when you decide to do something do you. All the presents wrapped between yourself and Alun. You are lucky that he helps you to do them. If Roly helped, he would end up selotaping himself to the gifts as well. LOL

Ann it shows how bad my memory is becoming, Roly reminded me that this is our third Sat Nav.
The first one I bought him, he couldn't see very well, so he bought a newer one, but der stupid me forgot about it.
It's not as if we travel very far, but when we go up to Blackpool or Yarmouth we had got fed up of getting lost, where the roads had changed between visits.

Hello my lovely Jean. It's good to hear that J has ventured out and about today.
I hope you are feeling o.k my love.

Hugs to you all, Mo

Ha, Ha Ann you make it sound as though we dont go out at all..... :-D :-D :-D
what we dont do is go on holiday at the moment ;-)

visitors come and also we do some shopping along with various clinic appointments so who knows were it comes from, its rife in this area, so the doctor says...

J is slowly improving and has just gone an errand first time for weeks, thanks for your thoughts fo us, hope all is well at your place.....

love to everyone else Jean xxx .

AnninGlos Report 12 Nov 2014 08:52

goodness Sallie, you are well ahead now. You can almost sit back and relax. I must make a start on writing my cards, so many to wrote, not my favourite job.

Mo I expect Lilly caught the cough from one of her little friends, so many bugs around at the moment. Had a chuckle about the sat nav. Ours is an old one and we can't get updates any more so we end up having an argument with it when it tells us to do something like going round a roundabout that isn't there any more because a new road has been built :-D

Jean, Poor J I hope that by now he is better and that you have continued to improve. Where on earth did you catch that, you don't go to many places where you are likely to catch things do you.

Huia I haven't sent any of my cards yet. Too late for surface so they will all go air mail now. :-)

Sallie

Sallie Report 12 Nov 2014 00:57

Hi Mo,

I'm up late again, Alun helped me pack some Christmas presents earlier this evening, so most of them are done now, thank goodness. We still have to get presents to get for Jennie, Richard and Christie, I keep asking them what they would like, but still waiting for them to make up their minds . LOL!!

No need to feel guilty about Lilly, Mo she could well have picked up the virus from anyone, especially mixing with other children at nursery. I know there seems to be a lot of bugs and viruses going around this area.

Oh Mo, I can see you and Roly travelling around the Continent for your holidays. LOL.

Huia, nice to see you post, hope that you are okay.

Hello to all our other friends.

Take care.

Chat to you all again soon.

Oh Sallie, I am feeling so guilty, our little Lilly has now gone down with this hacking cough.
She was fine yesterday, but today her whole body shakes when she has a coughing fit.
Don't laugh will you...but you know I told you our son updated Roly's Sat Nav, well it didn't happen, and we had to start it over again yesterday afternoon at about 3.00 p.m, and it didn't finish loading till 11.10 last night.
I feel sure we now have routes going all around the Continent when we only wanted updates for this country L.O.L

Well girls we have been busy busy busy. We treated ourselves to a Karcher window vac, so all the nets have been washed, and the windows are shining.
No more rubbing and polishing by hand, just spray a little water and washing up liquid onto the windows, and hoover it off, wonderful and sooo easy. Lazy really, but who cares.

Speak to you soon, hugs Mo xxx
