Mo in Kent Report 22 Feb 2015 18:01

Hello my lovelies,
Ooops I did it again, forgot to report in to you all, LOL stupid gal that I am.

It's so nice to see you all posting, and a BIG WELCOME back Sallie, we have missed you my love.

Yesterday, our daughter, grandaughter, and great grandaughter, took us out to a carvery for lunch, it was a real lovely meal, considering it was only £4.95 a head.
And for dessert, Roly and I had deep apple pie and custard.
Daughter can't make it over to us for our anniversary, so we enjoyed an early celebration.

Brrr it is sooo cold here today, and it's raining cats and dogs.

We went out at lunch time, to meet our friends for our usual sunday lunch.
I prepared a lovely casserole, ready for when we got home.
Huh, I walked in and told Roly we had a power cut, as the oven was not on....wrong.... I had forgotten to switch the oven on, so now I am waiting for dinner to cook. See, I told you, I am going doo lally tat. LOL

Love to you all, speak again....when I remember to post that is. Take care everyone.

JustJean Report 22 Feb 2015 16:56

Welllll Ann seeing as you mentioned card withdrawel ;-) ;-) ;-) I havent made any cards, but after one day thought I would do a bit of die cutting, now I can sit down to do them :-) :-) I have had a great time ....and it doesnt affect my eye which is a lot better thank you....interesting that some dies would cut better on different cardstock or paper and also in the e-bosser which I do like.... but have to stand to use it....
I went to Range last week and spent a huge sum, but was quite let down with the stuff I got, had to take one thing back, no problem got a refund...I shall miss going into the one in Llandudno , but managed to find reference to a shop in St Annes , if its still open ;-) ;-) ;-)

We have had snow here today but now its raining quite hard, S and C was going to come but we said dont if the weather is still so wet...J has some filling come out of his tooth, why does it always happen just before we are having a break :-| :-|

Soon be Mo and Rolys anniversary , I have a card done and will send it early in the week....Just having a cuppa and a biccie, so bye for now

Love to all our friends Jean xxx <3

Down on page three, we can't keep up. Jean hope your eye heals up soon, bet you are now missing your crafing. Just been to the range to get a few bits and did get a couple of toppers. saving my pennies though for the craft fair next weekend. Bitterly cold here today and cold rain as well so pleased to be back indoors. Must put the heating on soon though as it is cold in here too. Hope all goes well at the oral clinic. make sure you don't get the two mixed up then.

Sallie, yes, made the two appointments with no problem. Was it you reading my life story? There is another chapter on the Welsh thread now.

Mo, Sylvia, Huia and all other friends, hope you are keeping warm and are well. :-) :-) :-) :-)

Sallie Report 20 Feb 2015 20:23

Hi girls,

Thank you Jean and Ann for the welcome back. It's nice to see you all posting again.let's hope that we can all post more often as we use to do. It's a shame we have lost some of our friends, I hope that they and their families are all okay.

Jean, I expect you will miss doing your cards for the moment, but you have to make sure that your eyes are alright so it is a good idea to rest them until you get back from holiday. I hope that you will have a good week away with plenty of dry weather,

We have all at last managed to get something to wear for the wedding. I am wearing a black trousers and top with a pretty shade of pink jacket with a scarf that goes with it.

Good luck with your two appointments in March, hope that they will go well and the results will be nothing for you to worry about.

Huia, I hadn't realised that you had managed to make a quick post last night, it's nice to hear from you. Hope that whatever the problem is with your internet it will soon be sored.
Also hope that you and your family are all well.

Ann, hope you managed to make hair appointments for both you and Lynda. I think my hair will need a bit of a trim before the wedding too, not long had it cut,so having it trimmed won't come amiss.

Mo, how did you get on at darts last night? Hope that you and your team won. How is Lilly doing these days? Hope that both Lilly and Eve are alright.

Will chat to you all again soon.

Take care.

Love, Sallie.xxx <3 <3

Thats it !!!.. I have put all the crafts stuff away, I have had a sore left eye for two days and wonder if its strained with doing so much close work, I know I have cataracts forming but dont see the eye clinic until later in the year, last time the man I saw said they are quite a way off before I will need any surgery..... so shall leave the card making until we come back off our break......
I took pics of the newest cards and will share them when darling daughter puts them on for me :-D :-D :-D

I have another hospital visit on the 9th March its the oral one , the original one was cancelled so I now have a lovely collection of mail from the NHs mostly duplicated :-
hope I dont take the wrong paper when i go .....

I feel shattered putting all my stash away , but that half of the conservatory is now sittable in..... and J can listen to his music.....

bye for now xxx

Oh dear Huia, it could be your server timing out. Have you tried pressing the back button and then looking to see if your message actually added to the thread. Sometimes that works.

Jean That is a lot for a lost aid, especially when they know you are going to have them replaced. When I got my new ones they didn't take my old ones back. Anyway, glad you finally got there for check ups.
Shame the weather was too bad for you to get out for your carvery, another time then hopefully.
Our daughter has a friend at L St Annes she meets her halfway between their homes sometimes. She and Jon actually looked at houses in thata rea before they bought in the L District but couldn't find what they wanted. Hope you have a lovely break.
Cards sound lovely I still have loads of dies to try but have got very lazy about setting up the Big shot to use.

Sallie, lovely to have you back with us, hope that you continue to feel better.'Onwards and upwards'.
I hope that Alun's heart murmer is nothing to worry about. Sometimes it is diffferent doctors he sort things out for us I think. Maybe our own doctors get too used to us.
Lovely to have a wedding to look forward to.
Glad you enjoy my life story bits. I will put another one up later on.

Mo There you are! Good to see you back on your thread. That cold/cough virus was horrible wasn't it, hopefully we have all kicked it into touch now. and that remaining coughs will soon disappear.
Ooh, washing curtains, no not done any of that, I did get a large towel wash almost dry on the line a few days ago. So good to be able to hang things out.

Sylvia I read your news on the other threads, I guess youa re like me and sometimes forget which threads you add to.

~~~~~~~~ to all other friends who post and 'lurkers'/lookers in.
Somebody, maybe Jean or Sallie or both asked if Lynda was going to the craft fair with us. Yes she is, she is an enthusuastic card maker as well.
Morning All.. :-D :-D started waking early again, I had got into a routine and staying in bed longer, but now back to the old routine,
Huia, we nearly got to hear from you, ;-) ;-) ;-) but dont give up , hope all is well with you and your family...
Sallie, lovely to hear your news, and I am sure the card making will soon pick up,
I have some pics for you to see, I didnt send them before just in case you were having a bad time, I have a beautiful new die and made some 6x6 cards ,I have to take the pics yet , you would love it I am sure...such a good cut and easy to do ....
What are you going to wear for the wedding, I have stuff in my wardrobe with tags still on ;-) ;-) I have got out of the habit of going out and dont" dress up" as much as as before, quite anti social I think nowadays...... however we are off to St Annes next weekend D will still be here and our neigbours keep an eye on things....we decided to make the effort , or I think we would never go away again.....
strange how things change when one or the other starts with various health problems.
I hope Alun is going to be fine and it can be sorted easily ....
I go for a biopsy on the 20th March, so something to look forward to :-| :-|
I am off to have a shower and may just crawl back to bed for a relax.... take extra care one and all...
Love and higs Jean xx <3 <3 <3
Sallie Report 20 Feb 2015 01:36
Hello girls, thank you all for your concern about me, it is very much appreciated.
I typed out quite a long message on here last night and just as I was getting to the end, it just disappeared, and it was too late to do it all again.lol!!
Although I am not one hundred per cent better yet, I do feel better than I was and am now mostly able to control my thoughts and feelings.....some days are easier than others. But at least I am making progress, even if it seems to be slow some days.
Mo, I hope that both you and Roly's coughs are getting better, they seem to last for weeks.
Hope all will go well for you at the doctors on Monday and that your test results will be fine with nothing to worry about.
Alun still has his since the day after Boxing Day, although it is better than it was. He went to the doctors about it just over two weeks ago, and was told it was okay, but that while examining his chest he found that Alun has a slight heart murmur. He is going to see him again next Tuesday so I am going with him, his appointment is at twenty to eight on Tuesday morning. Trouble is, it isn't the doctor we usually see, so not too keen on that.
Jean, hope that all went well with your hospital appointments and that there is nothing to worry about, when you receive the results.
You are doing really well with your card making. Well done! I have started making cards again, but at the moment I find that I am slower making them, so hope as I get better I will get quicker doing them again. lol!!
I have just made a couple of wedding cards, we are going to a wedding a week tomorrow, on 6th March. Michael's eldest brother is getting married to Laura, Jennie's friend from secondary school. Not sure if you can remember me talking about Chloe...well Laura is also her mum. Hope the weather will be dry on that day.
Sorry that the weather was too wet so that you and J couldn't get to have the carvery you were looking forward to.....never mind, you have it to look forward to another day when the weather is good.
Ann, loved reading your stories and Tec's on Shaun's thread. So many things you wrote about brought back some lovely memories of my own childhood and of the time when I started going out with Alun. I was also 16 when I started going out with him and was 20 when we got married. It is nice that we all have so many happy memories to look back on.
It will be nice to have your daughter stay with you next week. Are you going to the craft fair at Malvern with her? It will be a nice day out for the both of you.
I wouldn't mind going to it myself, if I had the time next week, but we have a busy week, what with, appointments and the wedding. It's a shame we won't have time.
to go to it.
I'm sorry that I haven't been able to come on here very much for a a long while, but hope from now on I can post more often again. As you all say we must try and keep this thread going, it will be a great shame if we don't.
It would also be nice if GR picked up again. Both the Wales and Aussie threads are still going along okay, maybe the rest of the long running threads need some of their magic.
Hello to all our other friends that sometimes post on here, hope that you are all well.
Well I must think about going to bed, I hope that I will be able to sleep very soon.
Will chat to you all again soon.
Take care everyone
Hello my lovelies,
Sorry to have been absent for so long, it's the old adage, the heart is willing, but the memory is shocking.
I must try to post more often, as it would be such a shame to lose our little thread after such a long time of being in contact with each other.
Some days, we may not have much news to impart, but just a quick hello, would allow us to know that things are plodding along nicely.
Jean my love, I have got the doctors on Monday, for my results at long last. But I feel sure he will refer me for blood test, to see what is going wrong.
It has been nice here for a couple of days now, and I have washed all the living and dining room curtains, and have been able to get them dry on the line, ooooh such a luxury.
The paint brushes will come out soon Jean, but not just yet, I will wait for the central heating to be switched off first.
I hope that our Sallie manages to get back to normal soon, bless her this black dog has plagued her for long enough now, and she deserves a rest from it.
Ann, will you be going to the craft fair with your daughter, when she come down?
I had my hair all chopped of on Tuesday, it does grow so quickly, even though I have it trimmed every five weeks, I like to keep it short.....LOL it gets in me eyes otherwise.
Well girls, I will say bye for now, as I am orft to darts shortly, wish me luck.
Take care one and all, Mo xxx
Ann, I too have been card making , I have a beautiful intricate die and thought it would be hard to do, but it came out so well I have made four 6x6 ones so I will get the pics done, its a De,sire die C/C have shown them today, so I hope to get a couple more...
they will be nice for mothers day cards...
We went to the ear clinic yesterday, J had his adjusted , I am going for a reassesment as its quite a while since they were tested, good news is the one I have is now obsolete so hopefully a more dainty one would be good I lost one and it is going to cost £75 to replace... :-0 :-0 :-0...
We had hoped to go to a carvery for lunch, D is out tonight, but it as poured down all day, never stopped and very heavy too....so there is two ready made Lasagnes in the freezer, so we shall have them instead :-) :-)
I have this post and your craft one also bithday girls on my tools watch, so when i switch on I look at my e-mails then GR then Crafts, and B/g.... then look at the general boards....I noticed how far down this one was....so thought I would say my piece ;-) ;-) I worry about Sallie, she does have a bad time if thats the reason for her absence . my heart goes out to her and Alun, I have been there and its just as hard for the partners.... but her card making does help sometimes....
Mo and Roly have really struggled with the coughs and colds, its been a vicious virus and hard to get over it, unless she has been painting again , its that time of year ;-) ;-) ;
but sending love and prayers to them all....
also Sylvia, Marie Huia, Jenny, Elizabeth, Liz who we used hear from, and anyone else who wants to say hello ...
I think there are only you, me and Mo who are on this particular thread more or less regularly Jean. And Sallie when she is well enough.
I am sorry, I have been on the boards but, because the thread is out of sight I haven't remembered to add to it. Mo hasn't been well so I assume that is why she isn't posting.
I don't think we should let it go because it is good to keep in touch, even if we are not doing anything very interesting. Maybe when the spribg comes it will make us all feel better. Some of these long dark days can be very depressing.
I am off to tesco this morning, then have to make a hair appointment for daughter who is coming bext week to go to the craft fair at Malvern. And also an appointment for me for a colour to cover the grey.
Made 6 cards yesterday, very ordinary ones making myself use up bits I have in my toppers box.
Mo, if you look in, hope you have shaken that cough.
Sallie, hope you will rejoin us soon.
Cant believe its so long since the last addition to this thread, where is everyone,? maybe its time to let it go :-( :-( many of the usual folk find it hard to think of news other than our various upsets and illness. the whole of GR appears to be in decline, My thoughts are when the boards were split up , thats when the rot set in , we also lost many of our lovely friends and it seems hard to let them go ..... most of our hobbies come on here ;re me and my crafts,for which I apologise and when our closer friends go missing for one reason or another the heart has dulled into "cant be bothered" which is quite sad we have been intertwined with each other for many years, and now and then other folk come on and are always welcome, so now I have voiced how I feel I wonder how anyone else feels and can add their thoughts and maybe a solution to what seems such a shame to lose contact with each other....maybe its just me........we have always been here for anyone who just wants to chat about anything ..so please add your opinions....
love as always Jean xxx
Oh Jean, you made me chuckle, when J ate your sandwich before you realised it. You couldn't have been very hungry when it was made, or you would have demolished it straight away, aah bless J, he was extra hungry.
Nice that you have booked a break away. We are of to Yarmouth again in May, back to the place we have been for the last couple of years, it will be quite quiet when we go, but then that suits us.
It has been a lovely day here today, bright sunshine, but still a bit chilly. It was so nice to see a bit of brightness for a change.
Our Lilly was able to go out and play in the garden to let of steam, rather than drive her mummy mad today. She enjoyed herself on the trampoline and swing, and is now so tired and ready for bed. Bless her heart, she gets so bored being stuck indoors during the winter, just as we adults do.
Well my lovelies, I will say cheerio for now, take care all.x
Morning campers, :-D well we have booked a holiday, near to home, we needed to do it as we were becoming quite lethargic about going anywhere..... St Annes is a place we used to go to just for a day, so a short break will be nice, plenty of eating places and lots of places to venture out to.... we are on the promenade and within walking distant to the shops. I did suss out where the craft shops are.... ;-) ;-) ;-)
D has booked her Florida holiday too, so we will have a couple of weeks on our own which will do us all good :-D :-D :-D we rub along fairly welll but do have the occasional flair up so its time for a break....
I am off to see the consultant on Thursday ,so prayers and thoughts would be helpful... thanks....
Mo this virus is a very nasty one and our flu jabs dont really touch it , but J was complaining of feeling cold, something he never has, I am always cold even in warmer weather..... D on the other hand never feels cold, and has acute hearing, so we bicker over the volume of the tele :-D :-D :.J and I are also going to have our ears checked sometime this week.... isnt old age wonderful :-( :-( :-( :-(
Thank goodness our minds so far are working well, although J makes lunch and he ate my sandwiches before I found out !!! he had no idea he had done it...lol...
Cold misty day so far, but a promise of brighter weather later on.... so I will send love and hugs to all our friends over the water, and hope they are all well...
coffee calls so bye for now love Jean xxx
Mo in Kent Report 5 Feb 2015 15:20
Hello girls, just popping in to say hello, and let you know that I am still around.
We have been very lucky here in Kent, not to have had snow, that most of the rest of the country seems to be suffering with, at the moment.
There were a few flakes the other day, but thank goodness the ground was to damp for it to lay.
This blessed virus has had both of us laid up for a few weeks now. Some days I wander why we had the flu jab in the first place, and yes, I know it's a different virus, but good grief it has made us both so down.
Poor Roly is on anti-biotics for it, as it made his blood pressure raise to over 150, and the doctor has said it's the virus that has done it to him.
It does worry me, following his past history, and the stroke a couple of years ago.
Still these things are sent to try us, and god willing,once the sun shines, we will feel better.
I do hope you are all well, and staying warm in this weather.
Sending you all my very best wishes, Mo xxx
