Mo in Kent Report 27 Feb 2015 16:46

Hello girls,it's good to read your news.

Huia, it's good to hear from you love. Sorry that you are still having problems with this site, it's strange that you are able to get onto F.B, and not here, where as I have been having problems with F.B on occasions, such a nuisance.
Like you, I think most of us rattle with all the pills we have to take, but hey ho, at least we are alive and kicking love, and rattling when we walk. lol

Sallie, it's good that you are getting the help that you need honey. It's bound to take time, and can be so frustrating for you at times.
You know that I shall be praying for Aluns health, medication can work wonders these days.
Roly starts his day by lining up his tablets each morning, and takes them before his breakfast. Then at dinner time in the evening he has more to take, then before bed, he's there again popping pills, bless him, not nice, but I would rather he take them than not, as I want him around for a good few years yet. Who would I nag at if he wasn't around.

Ann, it sounds like you had a good time at the craft show. Did your daughter get what she wanted from there as well.?
It's a shame there wasn't as much crafting stuff as you would have liked though.

Jean, have a wonderful holiday, and enjoy your Anniversary my love.
We are going out for a meal tomorrow night, and Roly bought me a dozen red roses and gypsophelia, beautiful.

Bye for now my friends, take care, love and hugs, Mo xxx

Hello all. I am still able to read the posts, but often have trouble getting mine to post, which is why you are not hearing from me much. I spend more time on FB, posting old photos.

I am having problems with reflux causing a scratchy cough, although doc thinks I have a virus, so she has now put me on antibiotics. Life gets tedious, dont it. I am really rattling with all the pills. But at least I am still alive and kicking.

Now cross my fingers that this will post. xxx

Hello ladies.

Marie, lovely to see you post and to know that you and your family are all well. I have been wondering and hoping hoping that you were all safe because of the cyclones.

Thank you, I am feeling better than I have been since this time last year. Must say that I am having a lot of help and support from the doctor and the therapist. Although I still have a way to go according to the therapist, but I am pleased that I have got this far.

Mo, through our married life it has always been me that has had a few illnesses,so it is strange now for Alun to be the one with the problems. I went to the surgery with him on Tuesday morning, the doctor explained everything to both of us and what he feels sure is the problem. If it is what he thinks it is, it will mean taking medication for it.
So we are crossing our fingers.

Your dinner sounds nice Mo, I love gammon, although not with pineapple, not keen on eating sweet things with savoury, I am a right fussy old girl. lol!

Jean, thank you for your thoughts and and prayers for Alun, they are much appreciated.

I hope that you and J will have a lovely holiday and that the weather will be good to you. With having wifi there, It might be a good idea to take either your lappy or J's iPad with you, even if you don't use it very much.

I didn't realise that you are going to be away for your anniversary. never mind you will be able to look forward to opening them when you get home.

Ann, glad that you both enjoyed the craft fair today and even though there wasn't so many card making stalls there you managed to get somethings that you liked.
Oh,I love Hunkydory things! I have bought quite a lot of it lately, now that I am back into making cards.

Sylvia, hope that you and yours are all okay. Also hope that your weather is improving,it will be nice when we get to summer.

Huia, hope things are okay with you too, and that you are able to use the internet.

Well, I must have a cuppa now, so will chat again soon.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Jean, there were not many papercraft stalls there, it was mainly sewing, crocheting and knitting but one stall had Hunkydory toppers so I bought a 15 pound pack which had 16 sheets of toppers with peacocks an butterflies etc plus 16 backing sheets. And about 8 more sheets of toppers. So I have a good selection to be going on with. :-D

Hope you feel fit enough to get to the shops next week. And that you enjoy all your meals out.

Hi, we had a good morning at the craft show this morning and managed to spend quite a lot between us. But buying our tickets in advance meant we got a discounted bacon roll, a goody bag so that was good. We were tired though so spent the afternoon relaxing.

Marie good to see you, glad all is well with you.

How wonderful to hear from Marie, and our Sallie.

Marie, I do feel all the poor people who have been suffering following the cyclones.
I am rather concerned about my cousin Jenny in Q.Land, she is on her own now after losing her husband just before christmas, I must give her a ring to make sure things are o.k...not that there is much I could do from over here, I just need to know she is well.
It will be nice if your friend does manage to get the unit close to you.
What great news about Sean and Nancy expecting a boy at last, he will be spoilt rotten.

Sallie, Alun will be fine sweetheart, he is in good hands, and the hospital doctors will sort him out lickety spit.
It's easy to say don't worry yourself to bit's, because I know you will, we are all the same under the skin where our loved ones are concerned, we do worry over them, and it's normal.
How are the family keeping now?
Is your brother back in the country yet?
Oooh I sound like I am a real nosey parker don't I.

Jean my love, I did promise I would pop in to speak to you all, on a more regular basis, and I surprisingly enough didn't have nowt to say, so just said hello, and legged it. LOL
Fancy you being away for you Anniversary, we shall just have to celebrate in your absence, and you can open your cards when you get back.

Right dinner is calling, Gammon Steaks, peas and chips and pinneapple yummy.
See ya later girls.xxx

Zack Report 26 Feb 2015 05:05

Hello to all my dear friends in England and Huia in NZ,
I have read the last 2 pages it seems you are off for breaks I do hope the weather behaves itself for your holidays.

Oz has had 2 cyclones in the last week
One up around Arnham Land (Northen Aust).
The other one called Marcia came ashore last Saturday week about 40 klms above Rockhampton and Yeppoon . Qld.
It caused a lot of damage I finally heard from my Brother to-day I was worried as I had not heard from him.
They have not had electricity for over a week their son managed to get them a generator to-day, so they now are able to connect there Refrigerator and lights to the generator.Over 550 homes in Yeppoon and Rockhampton are unlivable.many small towns around the area have been destroyed.

I am well and we have had some storms in the past 3 days with good rain we expect some more late this afternoon (Thursday 26th Feb.)

How time flies it was Ash Wednesday last week so we are now into lent a busy time for Catholics , I try to get to the devotions as I like this time in the church Calender.

One of my friends who is in her 80's put her house on the market to-day, she and her family think it will be better for her to size down , she has her eye on a unit not very far from her Son who is a paramedic he has a home probably only a hundred yards from where the unit is that she wishes to buy, if she can buy this unit I am in the same block in the next street, so we will all be able to make sure she is well, mind you she is very fit.
Sallie I hope your recovery continues , and that your long winter finishes and the sunshine smiles down on all of GB.
Love and best wishes to you all .
ps Sean and Nancy are expecting a son in a few months they are very happy they have 3 girls already.
Marie

Hello girls,

Hope that you are all okay today. Mo that was a quick message, you must have been lost for words. lolol!!

Mo, really pleased to know that your results are clear,I'm sure it is a great relief for both you and Roly.

Jean ,sounds as though you couldn't resist .making more cards now that your eye is better. lol!!

Alun went to see the doctor yesterday morning, his appointment was for twenty to eight.I went him in with him, the doctor was very good and explained everything to both of us,we were in with him for half an hour. Alun has to have an ECG next Wednesday and he also has to have an ' Echo' when he hears from the hospital.

Ann, has your daughter arrived yet? Hope that you will all enjoy the Malvern Craft Fair

I really enjoyed reading reading your last lot of memoirs on Shaun's thread. They are all very interesting, it would be nice if you could publish them.

It looks as though our other friend have abandoned us lol!! It wouldbe nice to hear from them all again. Thinking about them all.

Well I am going to go to bed now and will hopefully get to sleep soon.

Speak to you all soon.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie. xxx.

Cor, look at me, two days on the trot I have remembered to post, now thats got to be miracle..lol.

Jean, I am sure you will both have a wonderful time. Just being away from home, for a break is great.
Looking at the same four walls all the time can be very depressing during the winter months.
I am sure littlie wont forget you, children remember those who are good to them and show them love.
God willing things will go well for you, you know you are in my prayers love.

Ann, are you and T off to the lakes, I know how much you love going there. Or is the foreign destination, not mentioning where of course.
You will lose T for hours on end to the golf course, but a bit of peace and quiet for you time is in order. As much as we love our O.H's, it's nice to do as we want sometimes. lol

Time to prepare dinner nowm so speak to you soon. Love to all, Mo xxx

Mo that is great news, so pleased for you. Onwards and upwards now then. Hope your results are good too Jean.

Yes, pink and black always look good so you will look lovely Sallie.

I hope the place you are going to is a nice one Jean, we are the same with March, although it is on a complex we have been on before. That time we had a lovely chalet with a view out over the adjoining golf course, lots of birds to see. Just hoping it will be warmer than the February we were there when it snowed. We go mid March.

JustJean Report 24 Feb 2015 08:05

Mo wonderful news about your tests, hope I have the same good results when I have mine done, but I know the relief for you both must be a very good feeling ... Bless you...

Its very wet and dark here today, J goes to have a filling done , I have nothing to do ;-) ;-) biggest upset for me is not being able to stand for long so baking is a no no , I loved baking too :-( :-( no crafting to do either Its a good job we are off on Sat for our break, although its a new place we are staying in ,always a bit unsure about what we will get..... bit of dry and sunny weather would be good :-D :-D :-D then D toddles off for two weeks, love her to bits but it will be a lovely second break for us ;-) ;-)
I hope our littlie wont forget who we are, S is working all over the u.k. so he wants time with his son, and we want time with S too.... who would have kids !!!

Sallie your outfit sounds lovely and I love pink and black together........we are praying all goes well for Alun also....

Ann is it early or late March when you are away? could have warmed up by then.

We should have new neighbours again, by the time we come home....so hope we all get on o.k.usually its the visitors and their cars that cause the problems.....

love to our friends, Sylvia , Huia, Marie and all who sometimes have a chat with us. take care. and stay safe...

Jean, we did have a slow cooker, and we gave it our son and D.I.L, as it was to big for us two, so need to get ourselves a smaller one.
But knowing me, I would still have forgotten to switch it on. lol

Great results from the doctors, the results came back clear this time, thank the lord for that. It was a very worrying time for us both. The medication I was put on, cleared up the problem, praise be for that. I was so afraid for a while, but now it's full steam ahead, hopefully and god willing.

Tomorrow we have a window company coming in, to repair the double glazing to our patio doors.
The seals have gone, and condensation gets between the glazing.
It's probably the way the young ones slam the door closed when they go in and out of the garden, but hey, thats kids for you isn't it.
More expense, what with having to get a new shed door made last week, we shall have to start saving our pennies up for our holiday now, or it will be costa home again this year. lol

Time for bed now, so I will say goodnight god bless, hugs to all, Mo xxx

JustJean Report 23 Feb 2015 07:46

Mo we have lots of different types of casseroles, usually D puts them in the slow cooker either the night before or when she goes to work , we have a large family one and recently got a smaller one which does for 2/3 servings and its great , do you have one? we use ours quite a lot not just for casseroles there are loads of recipes, so no more senior moments ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D
