Mo in Kent Report 6 Apr 2011 21:22

Hi Sylvia.
I suffer with the complete opposite to you, but then it has gone from one extreme to the other over the years.

There are times that I am not aware that I am worrying about something, and it flares up, and it's not till after,I realise that I had been worrying about
the most futile things.

It was like when baby Lilly was rushed into hospital, when she stopped breathing.
It didn't dawn on me till days later what had caused my abdominal pains.

I have to drink as much water as I can stomach, as well as tea and coffee.
But dare not eat certain foods, for fear of a flare up.

This is such a worry, still no news from Caz.

Night Night God bless one and all. Love Mo xxx

Hi all
xxx

sorry about making you jealous!! But it really is a very nice, small place. We have loads of them around Vancouver.

Sallie ... sorry to that Jennie might also have IBS. It's a nuisance!

Like Mo, I also suffer from it ........... but I have the diarrhoea form.

I've learnt that I have to keep the amount of clear liquid that I drink down to below 1½ litres a day. I don't seem to have too many other reactions to food ............... at least not ones that I can identifiy!

BUT I have found that stress is very important for me. I seem to get an attack in the morning of every time that we are going to travel ........... whether ti is the ferry to the Island, driving up to the cabin, or a plane trip!

Take care everyone

Hello everyone.
Still no news about Caz , oh how I wish we had something good to celebrate for a change, so fingers crossed everyone.

Huia, you poor thing, those dreaded rats are such a *loody nuisance.
Just when you thought they had gone as well. I seriously think it's time for a rat catcher now my love. The little blighters are leading you a merry dance.
You are so much braver than me, I think I would be sitting up all night, hammer in hand, waiting to bash their br.....s in, no I musn't say that.
What a pity they didn't strangle themselves, with the ball of wool. Sorry girls, but poor Huia has suffered for so long with these little devils.

Sylvia, are you trying to make us jealous, having a Japanese lunch, well........ you have succeeded you uhmmmm monkey, for want of a better word than a swear word.
Good to hear you have still got nice healthy teeth. I am dreading my next check up, as I know full well she is going to want me to have a crown done, but I will only have it done if the finances allow.

Sallie, poor Jennie. As if it's not enough for her to have the Crohns, she then starts with IBS.
IBS is bad enough on it's own,let alone having to suffer with the both of them.
I dare say she had to watch her diet previous to this diagnosis. But getting to know what we can and can't eat is a real nuisance, speaking from my own experiences, but believe me, you do get to know what your gut will or wont tolerate.

Ann, you will be delighted to know, " we have had beautiful weather today "
so warm in fact that I had to take my coat of, whilst I was in town. LOL
I actually sat in the glorious sunshine, in the back garden for a while this afternoon. It doesn't take much to please me does it.

I will pop back later girls. Love Mo xxx

Hope Caz got on ok today.

Weather was still cool yesterday but today it bucked up a bit and was warm and sunny until 4pm.

Sallie Report 6 Apr 2011 15:12

Hi Ladies,

I'm wondering how Caz got on at the hospital today, I hope eveything went well for her.

Sylvia, the bus stops that you have there, sounds about as good as we have here.lol!. People that live on a main bus route are lucky as there's a bus shelter at every stop, but we only have one on the bus route that I use, the bus is usually late and sometimes it doesn't turn up at all.

Jennie went to the hospital this morning for her usual check up with the IBD nurse, the nurse seems to think that not only does Jennie have Crohn's Disease, but she also suffers from Irritable Bowel Syndrome too, so she is booking an appointment with the dietician for her.

Mo, pleased to hear that you won on Monday night. Well done to you and your team. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you''' win again next week.

Well, I'd better go and start getting ready for doing the weekly shop. I hate doing it more each week.lol!

I'll pop on again later, hopefully we might have heard something from Caz
by then.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi Mo and everyone

Sallie .... do hope Jennie is OK

Huia ..................... I guess it is that time of year when the rodents want to get inside, away from the cold. But, poor you, to have to keep dealing with them.

Had a good visit to the dentitst on Monday ........ just the 6 month check up and cleaning, no other work needed. But it was pouring with rain. I have to take 2 buses to get there, and there is no shelter at either bus stop, so I got very wet!

Tuesday was physio .................. and my "treat", lunch at the nearby Japanese cafe.

Huia Report 5 Apr 2011 21:46

Yesterday, it was only occasional heavy showers, with sunshine in between. There was a tornado took a roof off a warehouse at Papatoetoe (not very far from the airport). Nobody hurt, though. They had one in that area a few years ago in similar weather. Today is sunny at present but it was very cold last night, and still is. I dont know what the weather will bring as I missed the forecast on the TV. Anyway I am not planning to go anywhere.

I found more rat or mouse droppings in the toilet and bathroom yesterday morning and this morning there were a couple in the bathroom, and there was a small ball of wool in the middle of the lounge floor, so I suppose they are looking for stuff to line their nests. I am wondering if it is safe to put down some poison I bought. It says there is no secondary poisoning, so presumbably that means that the cat is safe if she eats a dead or dying rat. I might just set some out today.

Huia.

Hello my lovelies.

Sallie, you must be my good luck charm, we won last night 5-1 but lost the pairs 2-1.
We played our little socks off, unlike last week, where absolutely nothing went right.
Next week is another hard match,another of our bogus teams that we normally play abysmally against.
There are only two games left for this season, then we go into the knockouts.
As we lost the pairs last night, it looks like we wont be getting a trophy for being runners up, but we will end up as being third in the league.

Raindrops keep falling on your head, Huia. Thats the song thats been running through my brain since I read your posting.
I hope the rain has now stopped.

How did you get on at the dentists Sylvia. Oh lord I can't remember what
you said about the physio, I'm sure you said you had to go for that as well.

I hope the weather forecasters are right, and that tomorrow is going to be a better day. It's been like another winters day today.
I met my friends for coffee this morning, and cor was it cold. I was happy to get back home again.

Lets hope that Ann and T are enjoying better weather than us.

I hope that all our friends who have been under the weather, are feeling a little better today.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Caz, Joyce, Marie,Tess and not forgetting our lovely Jean.
Bye for now girls love to all. Mo xxx
Hello Girls.
Huia, it's been a cloudy and chilly day here today, not much like spring at all.
Have you been to see Phil over the last few days? If you have, I hope that he was alert and was happy to hold your hand this time, bless him.
Mo, how did it go last night? I hope your team had something to celebrate.
Caz, Jean and Joyce, I hope you are all feeling a little bit better today.
Ann, if you're looking in, I hope it's a bit warmer there today.
Sylvia, hope all went well with your physio and also with OH's dentistry work. I'm sure he's glad to be coming to the end of it.
Tess, how are things with you today? I hope you are alright.
Is your son back with you yet? Sorry, I can't remember which days you told us, that he stays with you.
Marie, hope you are okay, and that your leg is much better now.
Speak to you all soon.
Love, Sallie.xxx
I have had two songs running through my head today: Though April showers may come your way, they bring the flowers that bloom in May.
Drip drip drop little April showers beating a tune as you fall all around.
No prizes for guessing what the weather has been like today.
Hi all
xx
Ann ............... lovely to hear that you had arrived safely in Tenerife. I'm sure it will warm up soon ..... although the weather is very strange all around the world!
I had my 6 monthly check-up and clean at the dentist's today, plus she took 4 xrays as I hadn't any taken for 2 years. All OK, have to go back in 6 months.
The weather is rotten here! It poured with rain all day today ............ I got really wet waiting for the buses to get to the dentists ............2 bus stops, neither with any shelter nearby.
As well, it didn't get above about 5C ....... so my winter sweaters are still in use!
The nearby mountains have had snow while we get the rain ......... they're very pleased because that means the ski season will last longer than usual!
Tomorrow, I have to go to physio, and OH goes to the dentist ...................... we're finally beginning to see the end of all the treatment that he has had done getting all the implants done. It might all be finsihed in another month!
Otherwise we are all well, and so far escaping any colds or flu! Fingers and toes all crossed after saying that!
take care everyone
Thank you Ann and Mo for your concern and good wishes for Jennie. She is a little bit better today, so hopefully she won't get a flare up.
Ann, lovely to hear from you and hope that the weather gets a bit warmer for you.
It's vey chilly here today, so it was back to wearing a coat when we went over to Jennie's this evening.
Let's hope you don't get anymore trouble with the wireless connection, as it's nice to hear from you while you're away. Enjoy yourselves and take care.
Mo, I'm sorry that your team lost last week, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll win tonight.
It's a shame that so many shops have closed around the UK, in so many cities and towns like Maidstone.
Derby has two indoor markets, but so many of the stalls have closed in both of them, it's such a shame. It makes me feel sad that so many people have lost their livelihood.
Mo, I hope you are right about it getting warmer through the week.lol!
It would be nice to have some more spring weather.
Well. I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Hello all from Tenerife. Been having trouble with the wireless connection but hopefully it is fixed now. Weather is pleasant but not that warm so far, still about 18-20 degrees and Teidi still has quite a bit of snow on it.
Sorry your daughter is not so well Sallie, hope it turns out to be minor and that she is well again soon, hopefully it is not a flare up.
Ello, Ello,Ello me lovelies.
Huia, how great that they allowed you to train the new lady up. It shows that they have great faith in you love.
It can be very boring being on your own in the shop can't it, especially if customers are sparce. And at least one of you can make a cuppa, whilst the other looks after the shop.
You can gas away to your hearts content,and the company will do yoy good.
Oh Sallie, I am sorry to hear that Jennie is not to good at the moment. I pray to god it's not going to cause another flare up for her.
She has been getting along so nicely recently, and does not need a set back like this, bless her.
Yes honey we have got darts tonight, but if last week is anything to go by, we will probably be the losers again. Please lord let me be wrong,but I have got a feeling in my waters,that I may be right.
Roly and I went into Maidstone shopping today. Gosh we have not been there in ages, and we were so surprised at just how many businesses had closed down.
But I was treated by Roly to four new tops. I wanted a couple of jumpers, because the weather is not really good enough for summer wear just yet.
But I ended up with one jumper, one blouse, and two thinner long sleeved tops.
You watch our weather change now, I will probably being sweating buckets by this time next week.
Marie, it's good to hear that your knee is improving slowly.
But please, don't overdo things, like the gardening. Don't worry about the weeds, leave them till you are properly mobile. Unless you have got a hoe, to losen them, you don't want to have to bend to much,and start your knee of again.
Us spring chickens have to look out for each other dontcha know.
Hows the family keeping now.?
My lot are all o.k at the moment, (touch wood ).
My son is of to Scotland on Friday, to visit S's family, before Lilly gets any bigger.
Lilly's great grandparents are longing to see her again. But I'm being selfish, I wont see her for ten days, boo hoo.
I hope that Sylvia,Caz, Joyce, Tess,Ann, and Liz if she's looking in are well.
And special ((((((((((BIG HUGS FOR JEAN)))))))))).
Bye for now girls, love to all. Mo xxx
Sallie Report 4 Apr 2011 15:14
Hi Girls.
It's very quiet on here, only Huia has been on here so far today.
Huia, nice to hear from you. I'm sure it was good to have someone for company in the shop today....the time drags when you are on your own during the quiet times, and I'm sure that when it's busy, you are also glad to have another pair of hands to help you.
It's a good idea selling plants at the shop, I'm not sure if they sell them at the charity shops here in the UK.
It's a shame the doctors still haven't had the flu vaccine in yet, it's a pity they couldn't ring you to let you know when they receive it.
Mo, hope all is well with you and your family. Have you got a darts match tonight or have the matches finished now?
Hope you had a lovely Mothers Day, yesterday, and had some nice cards and pressies.
Jennie hasn't been very well over the last couple of days, so I'm just hoping that it isn't the start of a flare up. She is due to see the nurse at the hospital on Wednesday, for her usual check up, so we'll have to wait and see.
Caz, Joyce and Jean hope you are feeling a bit better today.
Sylvia, hope you and your family are all okay. Are you having some nice spring weather now? It's a wet and miserable day here, I was hoping to dry some washing, but it looks as though that's a big NO, for today. Oh well there's always tomorrow.lol!!
Marie, hope your leg is better, so that you have been able to get some gardening done over the last couple of days.
Tess, you sound as though you are really with it with your new hairstyle. I'm sure it looks very nice.
Did you enjoy a nice peaceful Mothers Day, yesterday?
I had a nice quiet day on my own, apart from Jennie and Michael popping in to see me, it was just a quick visit, because of Jennie being poorly. I was pleased to see them, but because Jennie didn't look well at all, I felt that she should have stayed at home, as I would have understood perfectly.
I've got a couple of things to do now, so I'll probably look in later on.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
Wakey wakey, rise and shine.
I called in at the docs before lunch but the flu vaccine has not come in. I think they are waiting for a shipment from overseas. I then went to the Hospice shop, and I had a helper today. It was her first day. It was much better having somebody to chat to in quiet moments. I hadnt enjoyed being on my own behind the counter the last 2 weeks.
When I came home I looked up in my garden encyclopaedia a plant which they had for sale, called piggy-back plant. It is Tolmiea menzesii, a member of the saxifrage family. I copied the page so I can take it in next time I am in town. It gives details of the conditions it likes. I must dig up and take in some of my Scilla peruviana bulbs.
We took quite a bit of money again this afternoon. It is quite a good feeling, all for the cancer Hospice.
Huia.
Hello Girls,
Just a quick look in. as I'm waiting for Alun to get back from M R show at Sheffield.
Heard from Joyce this afternoon, she was so upset, what with the pain she is in, and worrying about her family. I felt so helpless, just wish there was something I could do to help her. I think she felt a bit better by the end of our conversation, as we had a couple of laughs about our ancestors.
Caz, still isn't very well either, so I hope she'll feel a little bit more comfortable soon. As with Joyce, I wish there was something I could do to help her too.
I have to go now, Alun's just arrived home, so better get him something to eat.
Speak to you all tomorrow.
